Saints / Reading / West Ham run in: Games to go . . .
Lighthouse replied to .comsaint's topic in The Saints
I'm not debating any of that, I'm just saying Hull have been crap recently and I'd expect Coventry to lose that fixture 9 times out of 10. It's a bit like when we won at Boro in the relegation season. It was very much a one off when he happened to turn up and they didn't. This is all pretty trivial. It all comes down to Coventry being crap, especially away from home. We SHOULD beat them. -
Yeah, they don't. Unless you buy it and the cheapest I can find is £125, so no thanks.

But Hull seem to have given up on the playoffs and gone on holiday. 5 straight defeats before they beat Boro today including defeats to Pompey and Millwall. 1 win in 12 before today, they were pretty much bottom of the form table. -
This picture is brilliant. Any idea if and how I can get a high res version from getty?

Just going over the possibilities... Even if West Ham suddenly turn into Barcelona, we only have to beat a very disinterested Posh team and a very crap Coventry side. I've been watching Saints long enough that those games are far from a fore-gone conclusion, but f**k me we're close. If it were to come down to the last game, we should hope Coventry are AT LEAST 2 points behind Bristol City. That way they would either a) need a win, have to come and attack and leave them exposed at the back or b) already be relegated and probably demoralised. -

Brighton will want their team to win. They really aren't that bothered about us unless we're playing each other, certainly not enough to want to lose to spite us. Now we aren't really fighting each other in the league, they're just another normal team IMO. -
Reading at home tomorrow West Ham away on Saturday. I always did like Poyet as a manager. Such a humble and well spoken manager. His teams are always fair and play great football in the right spirit. A lot of brighton fans at the start of the season were claiming Mackail-Smith is better than Lambert and I for one agree with them. So come on then, lets discus all the things we love most about the Seaguls.

So you're saying if we give him a great big magnet, he will cheer up?

Just had a quick peak at their other fixtures. Brighton and Hull at home, trips to Leicester and Bristol. I'd say a win and 3 draws would be realistic based on their current form. IF they lose this, it's hard to make a case for them getting the 8 points needed to get above us now. We COULD in theory lose all our remaining games and go up.

Can't watch it. My heart wont take 2 vital football games in 4 hours.
-
Same team, possibly Frazer in for Butters, although the latter sounded decent enough on the radio today. Call me a clucking, road crossing bird but I would take a point from this if you offered it now. Keeps us top whatever Wham do. Probably best we don't win as the bloke standing in front of me will drown in a tidal wave of jizz.

Thoughts from him from those at the game please. Sounded on the radio like he did alright and got involved a lot. Hopefully an improvement on Blackpool and Millwall.

Maybe he likes pasta sauce and cacti.

From a mathematical POV it's an absolute no brainer. Saints would have 4 points from 2 games West Ham would have 3, assuming they win their fixture on Saturday. So we stretch our lead over 3rd by another point and they have 2 games less to catch us.
-
Get in, absolutely fantastic reaction to the Pompey game!!! We will definitely be in the autos with 3 games left, even if we lose to Reading and Wham win their next 2. If Brum win tonight, we COULD get promoted this weekend. Uber uber squeaky bum time. Oh and the Skates are 9 points off safety this evening.
-
3-1 to Bristol City :D
-
It's always 4 minutes when we're winning.
-
Sharp sounding a bit quiet. Maybe give Barnard 30 minutes.
-
Oh yes!!!!!!!!
-
Anything but a draw there please, Bristol win would be best.
-
With Saints, I can't relax until we're 9-0 up.
-
Oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus, my ticker can't take much more of this.
