Well, I enjoyed it even if I was freezing my tits off. Now my train has been cancelled I get to sit in the freezing train station for an hour. W00T!! We're in the next round, but it's disappointing to see 3 players go off injured like that. Pompey in the next round? People have been saying it every year since the dawn of time, but for the first time in 6 years we've actually got a chance of beating them.

He reminds me a lot of Safri. Technically excellent, but I often wonder if he really does enough. As MarkSFC said, he doesn't seem to really fit the bill in either an attacking or defensive role, meaning it's quite hard to get the balance right in the middle. I think he could cut it in the Championship, but very much doubt any Premier League sides are interested in him.

Bought some rohypnol the other day and on the back it said "best before date".

Not Jaidi, I'd say 3 games in a week is a bit beyond his legs. Fonte is possibly our most important player, I wouldn't want to play him either. Nothing at all wrong with either Martin or Seaborne and I see no reason they can't play together. They are both young, athletic, eager to prove and above all, good. Same with Bart. I don't get the general attitude on here that playing him would be to our detriment. He put in some excellent performances last season, notably against Charlton and Norwich in the JPT. In fact in the 12 games he played last season, we won 9, drew 1 and lost 2. The two defeats were at Leeds and Colchester. Both bogey grounds for Saints. 2 of those wins came playing for Barnsley in CCC. There's no point in having a squad if you're not prepared to play half the players.

Find someone you don't like and whitewash their car.

What, like he once got a girl to slam him up the sh*tter with a strap on? Not a secret.

Is the name supposed to be Saint-skipper or Saints-kipper?

Try again.

Bart Butters Martin Seaborne Dickson Gobern Guly Hammond Holmes Lambert Doble Assuming Seaborne is fit and Connolly doesn't have the legs for 90 mins. AOC seemed to be getting a lot of cramp on Tuesday, so I'd give him the day off. Lambert needs a goal from open play like I need a Ferrari.

Thanks. I was convinced I must be going blind last night.

Not really a statement on people from Southampton, just on pikeys in general.

"..... but I counted them out, and I counted them in"
Lighthouse replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Lounge
It is a sad day. I'm all for having the F-35 replace the harriers, but that day is years, possibly decades away. Removing our carrier born fleet completely is military suicide. Now we are totally reliant on only fighting countries who's neighbours like us... might be a good thing come to think of it. -
Yes. Nobody from Austria has ever shown intollerance towards another culture. Oh no...

Not sure their having '4 key players injured' argument carries all that much weight either as we were without Chaplow, Harding and Seaborne.

FWIW I think Waigo was a lot better. Seemed to create quite a few chances, when he was onside, and chipped in with a fair few goals. Also I rated Puncheon and certainly wasn't one of his bashers. Clearly however he has not been a happy bunny this season.

Well, they are a bit like that.

This isn't just some knee jerk reaction to anything I saw tonight, but in most of the games I've seen from Guly he has been pretty poor. Yeovil being the exception. Whenever he has come off the bench in recent games, he hasn't had any real impact at all, he just spoons chances (1-on-1s tonight and Posh) and gives the ball away. Bradley Wright Prado. Personally I'm hoping Adkins has noticed this and sends him back to Cessena in January. We can do better (Le Fondre pleeeeease Santa!)

A bit of a naff result but still plenty of possitives to take from it. For a start if Brighton really are the best side in League 1 at the moment, it really is wide open. They were gash. It was mostly hoof stuff and nicking the odd corner from long punts down the flank. We completely out played them first half. Second half, I don't want to blame 2 games in 4 days, but we were pretty sloppy in possession. Not sure about their pen. but Lallana DEFINITELY should have had one in the first half. Matey was all over him. I'd say we missed Chaplow and Morgan was pretty annonymous. Could use another CM in January if that substitution was anything to go by. 3 wide men in midfield. Hammond was my MOTM as I think he put in a good battling display. Dickson was pretty good too and Kelvin had the penalty save. Jaidi won everything in the air, but his distribution was awful. I'd still take Martin ahead of him and Saturday's game is the perfect time to try it. Hardly a classic, but before the weekend Posh and Brighton were being billed as tough games. I'd have taken 4 points then and I'll take them now.

Aren't most chants predictable and boring. I mean seriously, will the 12 year olds at the back of the Northam ever get bored of singing Pompey fan on a string?
-
I remember when Ryan Doble came off the bench to score a hat trick against Brighton, way back in 2010. What a debut that was. Those were the days.
-
Yep. I'm just guessing there with players who played for England in that era. Mark Wright is probably right actually, I don't think Williams got that many caps.
-
Wouldn't have got either of question 3, but then that was a good decade before I was conceived. Ditto A5. Guessing Q4 is Channon, M. Mills and S. Williams. Can't think of the other. Know the answer to B5 and it's just plain sad.

We're even singing that too quick now. That Korean version is pretty funny, but they've got a lot more rhythm in that than we have in our version.
-
Yeah, the slow bit is good, but it still ends up being way too fast at the end.
