  1. Again, money is a different issue to homosexuality. I don't particularly have an issue with a child being born into poverty having a rich upbringing. I'm sure he will be spoiled, but it's better than being unwanted on the streets. It's not as if this isn't an issue with straight parents either. Look at the Royal Family, Beckhams kids, whichever African tribe Madonna has adopted this week.
  2. Age - That's a different issue and one which I have more of a gripe with that the homosexuality. I'm happier with a 30 year old gay couple adopting that a 63 year old straight couple, simply because it's going to be unfair on the kid having to look after ageing parents. I think boys need a male role model and girls need a female role model. Not nescessarily in the same house, but a role model in some capacity, even if they only see them on weekends etc. I think half the problems in society stem from a lack of direction and discipline as a child. Half the scumbags on the Jermemy Kyle show got there because they didn't have a strong father figure as a child. Someone to whack them accross the arse and say, "don't do that, go and finish your homework". Kids need someone they can identify with and respect. This from the bloke who doesn't have any. You can moan about being PC if you want. I'm hardly a PC happy clappy leftie type. I just don't see a problem with any of this.
  3. I don't see any problem with it personally. There are plenty of kids out there who either don't have a a mum or don't have a dad. I'm sure it will be different for the kid, but I don't think it will be a problem as such. At least you know with Elton he's going to get the best upbringing money can buy. His childcare, education, healthcare etc. will all be far better than he could have had in Ukraine. The problem would be if they were adopting a girl. I don't entirely agree with that because she wouldn't have a female rolemodel in her life.
  4. Niemi's triple save was the season before. I think Blayney's actually won the Sky Sports save of the season, not just ours.
  5. You have a strange diet.
  6. How is that the point? We're talking about issues which could effect the club and it's finances at the top level and you're more worried about getting a 2 page spread in the Dailly Heil?
  7. I call 'myth' on that one. Guly - Can't remember the date he signed, but our last 4 games have been against Tranny, Manure, Exooharr and Posh. Man Utd is always a tough gig and in the other 3 fixtures Saints played fairly poorly as a team. I'm sure when we improve our overall game, Guly will come good again. Saga - After signing him on a permanent deal, Burley pulled off the tactical masterstroke of not actually playing him. I remember Saga scoring in that God-forsaken curtain raiser against Palace, then scarcely being seen again until about February. I remember one midweek match (think it might have been against the Us) when he came on with 45s of injury time left. Madness. You can't exactly call him lazy either, he put in more effort than Stern John, BWP and Rasiak combined (although that really isn't saying much).
  8. You're probably thinking of Le Fondre, who a lot of people thought was out of contract in summer. ALF is contracted till 2012 and has said he wont re-sign. No idea about CMS.
  9. Just read that too. Gutted. A quote from his doctor: "The situation of the hand was clearly serious, it was nearly amputated and we’ve reconstructed completely, first recomponing the fracture and then working on muscles and nervous tissue. The operation has been successful, i don’t want to say too much but we’re quite confident. Kubica should get back the total functionality of the hand for his vital functions and maybe his driving profession. However, it will need some time, perhaps a whole year of rehabilitation. By the way, everything’s been good." I wonder who will replace him. Romain Grosjean and Bruno Senna are the reserve drivers, but there are more experienced drivers available like Heidfeld and Fisichella (who knows the team well).
  10. I believe Milford on Sea is one of the most popular holiday destinations for people in Dubai. They have a highly developed sense of irony.
  11. We haven't had many central midfielders who get goals in recent years. Think the best was Surman getting about 7 the season we got relegated from the CCC. Chaplow's on his way to topping that.
  12. I wonder if they would switch it to the Millenium if that happened and just compensate Wembley some how. I hope not, it would be pretty good to see a train full of Welshers beating the crap out of each other.
  13. Agbonlahor? Has 3 goals this season. With 4 other strikers plus Young and Walcott I'd have thought another midfielder would be better. Albrighton is a good shout. I'd also give a nod to Jack Rodwell or Kieran Richardson based on this season's form.
  14. Great article, I think he's got it dead on there. Top Gear tries to be funny, when it just shouldn't. It should be an interesting fact based car programme, but with hints of humour thrown in. When I say interesting and fact based, I don't just mean reviews of new cars, customer performance reviews etc. Stuff like the North Pole expedition and driving cheap cars accross various continents is interesting. I just wish they'd do it as more of a social and technological experiment, as opposed to a set up for a half baked slapstick comedy. Hammond can feck off too. Coogan is right, he's just a lame Clarkson wannabe and he's seldom funny.
  15. http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=42901 Hope it's not too serious, but he could well miss the start of the season.
  16. You have the funniest username on this forum.
  17. I liked that chant. I was stood there (joining in) and thinking 'I've been to a couple of dosen away games over the years and never heard that chant, is it new or am I a mong?' If you did indeed create it, I tip my hat to you sir. Whilst we're on the subject, liked the Cortese chant. We could also sing his name to the Conga (i.e. Jhon Viafara) tune. Was there also a "swing low" for Chaplow? Chaplow Richard Chaplow He's got nothing on his head. Something like that.
  18. Just back. P*ssed off. If we'd gone there and drawn 1-1 I'd have gone 'meh' and got on with my life. Throwing away a 2 goal lead. TWICE in injury time of both halves. That's unforgiveable, even if a point at Posh is a good result. I don't personally think we played that well. 3 of the goals were set pieces and the other was scrappy to say the least. Other than that we struggled to create anything. We were terrible second half. After going 4-2 up we never seemed to string 2 passes together. Even without Jaidi in the equation, we looked very wobbly up against the pace of their forward line. Davis I thought was at fault for the first 2. Rooted to his line and beaten at the near post for the first. Final thought. I don't think we'll make the top two. I know there's a long way to go, Lallana coming back, new signings to gel etc. but I just don't see us being consistent enough.
  19. Top Gear would be brilliant if they could just stop the stupid, scripted crap that comes out as nothing more than really bad slapstick comedy. Last weeks episode was a prime example. They should get rid of Hammond. No where near as funny as he thinks he is and needs a haircut. His lame attempts at humour are far more suited to the Jeremy Kyle/Loose women type viewers of daytime TV. It's a shame because some episodes have been really excellent. The Winter Olympics they did a few years ago was innovative, informing and at times funny. For those that can't remember, it's the one where they raced an Audi and a Volvo across a cross country skiing course (and had to do the shooting from lying in the back of their cars and launched a mini off a ski jump. The first USA road trip and the Botswana road trip were both brilliant too.
  20. I reckon it'll be a 0-0 draw.
  21. Another I quite like, the RB7. Nothing too radical here, why would there be.
  22. I'd be inclined to agree with you on that; and they're up against some pretty stiff competition. I'd be careful using phrases like "worst player" though. You can't say that anymore, it's very un-PC and some people can get highly offended by it. The correct PC term would be "scapegoat" "whipping boy" or "example of why so many Saints fans are c**ts".
  23. Overall it's excellent. The airbox looks pretty novel too. Will be interesting to see if anyone steals a march on the others, like Brawn and to a lesser extent Toyota with the double diffuser in '09. I like the new Merc too. I like the Renault design, but overall I'm put off by the livery and the fact that they're just a naff, fake Lotus (not saying Team Lotus is any more Legit). Why couldn't they have kept the name as just 'Renault' and had Lotus sponsorship on the black and yellow from last year. I really liked that livery, except for the red wing end plates, which look even worse on the R31. Also the Pirelli logo should be curved to match the shape of the wheel. It just looks stupid.
  24. Just seen the new Mclaren. It's pretty good, other than sidepods which look like they fell off the very top of the ugly tree, hit every branch on the way down and landed on Mick Hucknall.
