  1. One of the better pubs in Bedofrd used to allow you to take in food from the local chippie. Changed management recently tho, so not sure if this is still the case.
  2. Looking at the sides we could play then, I'll go for Northampton. Near to me & a fair few good pubs around!
  3. Notts County or Forest away. Best drinking known to man.
  4. Leicester away, 0-0.

    Music

Yes and no. The Top 40 is a sewer full of nothing but sh*te. However, there's lots of new and exciting stuff popping up. Acts outside the 'mainstream' are now able to market themselves through the Internet.
  6. Depends on his wages. Perhaps if we aren't interested he can go to P*mpey & earn £30k a week.
  7. Ingimarsson was, possibly is still a great player, but spends a lot of time out injured. Messi is absolute rubbish.
  8. If Saints did this I guarantee we'd be liquidated. It seems that Pompey just sail right through, but any other club is (rightly) held to account. Plus, morals do come into it. I believe we are a better club with better fans. We are incapable of lowering ourselves to their level.
  9. I'm not all that worried about Pompey in and of themselves. However, I think it will be more difficult gaining promotion when we are in the same league. Remember when they played West Brom on 2005, I have no doubt they'd try the same stunt again (i.e. throw a match to a similarly-placed side) if it meant that we might lose a playoff spot. Of course they didn't cause our relegation in 2005, but it has been proven that their hatred of Saints is more important than results on the pitch to them. I doubt much will have changed.
  10. Absolutely, well said. There is a huge difference, and we should count ourselves lucky that most of our politicians have the wisdom to be able to draw this distinction and act accordingly.
  11. I'm a little more worried about West Ham now that Allardyce is manager. However it'll still depend on their financial situation more than anything.
  12. Aliadiere anyone?
  13. No it isn't right, but to compare the plight of Congolese miners to a 13-year-old who was tortured is a seriously odd leap in logic.
  14. In my experience, people with left-leaning opinions tend to be much more convinced of their rectitude than those on the right. This is enforced by a left-leaning media and the constant bombarbment of leftist ideals. Becuase Western European societies have spent decades attempted to portray left-of-centre ideals as 'the norm' it has become easier for right-of-centre thinkers to stray outside of the accepted social territory. Having said this, I am myself fairly 'left' on certain issues (healthcare, environmental responsibility) so I do see the nastiness from both sides. All of the above is simply my opinion, based on my personal experience and the experience of friends and colleagues.
  15. I am surprised that Man United are keeping him on for another year. Things must be worse up there than anyone thinks.

    Cornwall

I always enjoyed St Ives, but yes it is touristy. St Agnes near Perranporth is nice too. We had our shoestring honeymoon in the interior of Cornwall, the 'real' Cornwall. Some magical if slightly odd places. Bodmin Moor is lovely.
  17. I'm sure Walcott is still in Wenger's plans. He hasn't set the league on fire, but he's not doing too badly either. Besides he's of a much higher calibre than the Chamionship. I just don't see it. Would be great though.
  18. No chance.
  19. Who has been here long enough in the last 10+ years though. Dave Jones and Strachan (maybe).
  20. In the East it will be Norwich City!!
  21. Agree with this. There's no reason why we shouldn't do well.
  22. Carew would be amazing, but perhaps that's a bit optimistic... Wonder if any misguided club out there is going to snap up Pires...
  23. And replaced with what?? I dislike FIFA as much as anyone, and felt that the 2018 & 2022 WC locations are the icing on the cake. But if Blatter/Bin Hammam/Warner et al go, who will replace them? The alternative is the absence of a global body in charge of football, which would be a nightmare.
  24. USA, Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, ROI, P*rtsmouth, France, Czech Repbublic, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Belgium, Greece, Turkey, Azerbaijan
  25. Aaaah. It's a nice feeling to know that the bookies think so highly of us. Doesn't mean much though, I'll agree.
