  1. You are such a moron its unreal. We weren't arrogant, we just didnt give a.... Be angry about that, and upset for the fans who made the effort, but stop calling the entire fanbase arrogant because they would rather have won the cup than achieved the likely maximum this season of qualifying for europa league via the league. You are wrong batman, deal with it, suck some balls, and move on!
  2. I tell you what, your friend was quick, he managed to tell you, and then you got it online all before St Lard, who is trying to steal your thunder none the less
  3. Respond to my comments you ****ing moron, I am ****ed that the club assumed we could bat them away and made minimal effort rather than ****ing trying... What kind of a spaz are you? trolling moron.
  4. see above, 8 of the sunderland first team were playing.... then you have the two suspensions... so they made 1 unforced change.... either way, that is the worst team in the prem bar maybe palace.... what exactly are the club trying to achieve.. if its europa league qualification then the cup would do it.... if its CL this season they are frigging crazy... The entire fan base would have wanted a League cup win than finishing 5th-7th... Yet the club made next to no attempt when really even minimum effort should have been required.
  5. I think that the club should refund all fans that went up there tbh. Made utterly no attempt to beat the worst team in the premier league and a great chance to get to the final. How arrogant are we, almost the entire fan base would have taken a cup final win over europa league qualification through the league. They both achieve the same thing after all.... If we don't achieve Champions League now then the club have seriously let us down and failed, because that is what they try to spoonfeed everyone.... so if europa league is not good enough, dish the godamn champions league footy... but that ofc won't happen and is a few season off at best... therefore what was wrong with the ******* cup option ffs.
  6. Sorry matey, its the celtic song or nothing I'm afraid.
  7. Good luck with your search Tony... Hopefully turkish won't see this though, he might implode at the thought of our fanbase stretching out to war minster...... dum dum dum!
  8. this all over, been following the kids for a few seasons and he stands out by a mile for me. the lad looks to be quality.
  9. http://www.teamtalk.com/premier-league/8993833/Southampton-2-Fulham-0-tactical-analysis Hopefully this hasn't already been posted for once! Enjoy all!
  10. So everyone is ready for a bit of the old saints and the "turn up to win" syndrome against stoke... I'm sure its coming, I'm just hiding behind a pillow until after its arrived. Best saints performance for a while yesterday and Adam is looking class... Please don't let him get injured, would love to see him make Brazil! COYR and thank you NC and ML
  11. I don't think we should assume gaston is on his way just yet... Poch has had him on extra training sessions for a while so is obviously trying to get something out of him.. lets see what happens. I do think that if we recieve a bid that is equal to what we paid for him we should seriously consider it however. It will be interesting. We need a powerful No. 10 however, someone with an engine like rooney.. otherwise they won't fir MP's game plan and will just be another gaston all over again. Should be interesting to see how things develop between now and January at either rate. I'll apoligise now before Gemmel comes and tells me off for talking utter drivel again.
  12. At no point did i state that the club are maximising revenue by taking loans. And the quotes from the club and KL after the "showdown talks" in the summer support my views, and the views of other fans... Now stop bed wetting and attacking me for believing the club aren't about to financialy self destruct... I assume that is what you meant when you called my comment of "my 2 sense is that their is very little to indicate financial trouble at the club" complete drivel and you were in now way polite, as you are not above.... seriously, are you a 16year old who expects everyone to follow you word for word? Where to people get off having to moan about the club and predicting doom and gloom all the time.. We are on a high, it won't last forever so enjoy it.... And if you are going to moan and panic at least pick something realistic... this club has got to be one of the safest financially...
  13. so taking a loan may not be a way or rejigging the available balance for January, or reorganising funds. people on this thread have no idea, I repeat... no idea, what is going on with the clubs detailed finances.... you can't even reach a consensus on where the funding is from... however, if people believe that a man who has worked for and was the right hand man of ML for much of his life, has spontaneously adopted the opposite philosophy of that career in the accumulation of debt (loans we can't afford as you suggest) then I would suggest you are wrong. that is my opinion, people forget that we posted a profit at the start of last season, had a net spend of 3m under Adkins to get to the pre and have accessed 2 huge TV deals with a small and modest wage squad. on top of that, ftp prevents the family/trust from underwriting substantial losses so we have always been run with that on the horizon by people whose lifes philosophy has been to avoid accumulating debt in business. in addition, I was responding to the comments regarding parking charges indication the club is in financial trouble as merely indicating the "maximising of revenue streams" .... now I won't "slate you" in return.... but considering you know jack and "hate to slate fellow fans", you can be awfully rude when you want. also, thank you for proving my point... this thread is hysterical, grown men who know very little on the subject shouting down others with a differing opinion. my 2 sense is that their is very little to indicate financial trouble at the club, if we were in debt then Morgan, shaw etc would not still be here... and you will see far more about the clubs financial plans come January and any outgoing business (lack of) that we do. as for the family, I suspect that those talks were mostly PR for Nicola, the family etc and over further development of training ground possibly stadium also. don't see the issue with the club securing a loan to release funds earlier than otherwise.... why don't you all contemplate what it will be used for instead?
  14. Never mind Lovren, "Whats that coming over the hill" "Its Big Vic Wanyama!!!!"
  15. This is one hysterical thread. The club's finances are more than fine and we are still receiving funding from our benefactors... The reason the club are using all revenue streams is to maximize income (funny that), since the swizzers can only come up with so much chocolate before falling foul of FFP.
  16. Article from the Ugly Inside - Highly biased, but enjoyable none the less :- http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/33133 I wanted to post the text directly bu it exceeds the character limit for saints web, none the less, a good read!
  17. Incorrect actually. The match footed stated that he was onside. Only shearer mentioned it in passing that it was slightly offside. In comparison, sky's highlights were brilliant, but with stelling, Ed and Matt it is obvious that we are well liked on sky. The match of the day team don't have much time for us.
  18. Haha classic. Match of the day comentator is saying Manchester ****ty. Brilliant.
  19. Match of the day coverage was shocking. We had more possession, more shots and more shots on target. Match coverage said Rooney was onside only shearer stood up for us in post match BBC made it look like an all united seige. Thank god for sky's coverage. BBC are a joke.
  20. Am I the only one who thinks we could have played better. To my mind, without Lambert we aren't able to get and keep the ball up front as per our usual long balls. This stopped us pressing united as effectively because proportion wise, the ball was in the midfield more than expected. They also caused us real problems with diagonal through balls to the flanks, I think we knew this was a danger but their goal (hints of offside) came from the 3rd such through ball in the space of 5min. Without Lambert first half we struggled to engage the press. It was very telling that after he came on he was bringing the ball down and allowing us to have Kore possession in the united 3rd and then press them from these regions directly. 1st half was acceptable and good character to keep it at 1-0... Second half was better, but still, I think we could certainly improve on that performance. Either way, a sound point we would all have taken at the 70min mark at the very least. And 4 points from united and pool away is not bad by any stretch of the imagination. Nice play by lallana but Morgan was also class today. Wanyama still cant pass!
  21. Agreed, that was the first thing I thought. Pretty sure that when Nigel Adkins tells you he would rather be saints manager than have his current job, and that he things reading are a smaller club, that he does it in confidence.... not for you to then publish it on an internet forum that journalists use as a source... Considering what NA did for this club, I think St Louis is a bit of a Tuesday... the sad truth is that Nigel would never have shared that information if the tables were turned and deserves better aqauntainces that Louis.
  22. Interesting articles floating around today... interesting that NC treated adklins like he did on the back of being criticized for not having pardews replacement lined up before hand: http://beta.wharfevalleytoday.co.uk/17822/Cortese-defends-Saints-changes.7063904.jp ironic that he was then slammed for the way he treated Adkins Also, he views MoPo as just a department head and talks down his contribution to the cause a little: http://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/soccer-news/football-managers-importance-played-down-2359113 Anyway, thought it may be of interest so enjoy all...
  23. Well done jay. Congrats for the boy!
  24. If shaw does go (big if) we will be laughing all the way to the bank... Which is why he won't eve go to tottenham becuase levy won't let the Don screw him over... If NC sells Shaw, the deal won't just be good for saints, it will be superb... Personally can't see it. He is on a 5 year contract, it would take stupid money. Therefore won't happen unless we'd be mad not to take it!
  25. Arsenal or Tottenham will win the league. With Chelsea/city in 3rd. The mancs are going to take a tumble this season, and frankly, if they keep playing as they are, we will beat them at old trafford... i sense a mini crisis on the horizon for them, or at least the potential for one. People seem to think that liverpool should have beaten us.... yet they have not noticed what MoPo's tactics do to these sides.... We are all fond of saying that "the big boys can't all have a bad day against us".... well they don't.... yes players make a difference, but tactics and team spirit make a massive difference (if they didnt, england would have won a world cup since 1996... W have a very solid first 11... and on our day, we will beat all the top teams (bar maybe tottenham who I can't see us scoring against if they defend.) Liverpool had a handful of chances, and lost that game because of their defensive players failure to use the ball... you can have the best attacking players in the world, but if messi is reduced to feeding of Long balls he is largely neutered... Think of the teams we have outplayed under mopo.... all of them bar the first half of united away.... we have had more possession and more shots than the opposition in all of his games.... and that was last season, we've bought 3 top top players since then and our own players have developed since then as well. We are the only team who play this way... and the only way to counter it is fast counter attack and long balls... We should bloody crucify united the way they are currently playing with our setup.. Chelsea can counter us with hazard, torress, oscar and co on the break. Arsenal have Walcott, gnarby and ox for speed counters. Spurs will be a snore fest with 1 goal in it.... and we know we can beat city... If we keep MoPo and spend wisely in January and the summer we have the potential to be challenging for top 4 next season.... as long as we dodge the injury bracket... I also think that qualifying for the Europa league would be a disaster, not enough money and a thin squad that would have to challenge on two fronts plus the cups... I can't see us pressing like mad on a Thursday then a Sunday. Either way, of all the teams outside the established big 6... we are in the best position to break in, and I predict that man united will be scrapping with us, everton and co for a top 6 position (at which point they will have to spend.) Exciting times (I will now take cover for being a happy clapper!)
