  1. Thanks, hope there are some left come friday!
  2. Sorry to hijack the thread but not sure it's worth a new one, anybody know a) how much tickets will be? and b) when will they go beyond season ticket holders and go to eligible previous purchasers?
  3. West ham did what West ham under big sam do, it's never pretty but it works, we need to work out how to play against this sort of thing because it will keep happening otherwise. Long term though I hope our approach of developing a style of playing and focusing on a "holistic" approach will reap dividends while they're serious short-termism will come back to bite them in the arse Genuinely used to have a lot of time for wham a few years ago before the Tevez saga, the sharp incident, the usual nolan antics and big sam! Remember when wham developed talented english players playing attractive football...?
  4. Sports knowledge, professionalism, record of success ... sure he can learn plenty about football on the job. If he ticks plenty of other boxes then let's hope he can add something of value.
  5. Fair point but I think Turkish hit the nail on the head, we missed the player he should have been. In my opinion it was a gamble worth taking mind you as he had plenty of quality and could have been the answer to a lot of our problems this season. We've really not been far from being real class, the summer could be really really interesting I suppose...
  6. Not happy, Sunderland always seem to drag out a result against us lately and a long away day for the fans. Oh well it is a decent chance to go through and more big guns likely to drop out!
  7. All sounds lovely but doesn't actually say much specific about long term intentions ...
  8. Yes but the city owners do have a whiff of bond villain about them ... we will slowly and secretly take over the world starting with our MLS franchise and there is nothing you can do about it Mr Bond! No? Just me ...
  9. How about a collective of soton/football fan businessmen, sponsors and fans trust. An elected chairman every so many years from the bunch and an element of collective decision making with a real push for sustainability. But then of course it comes down to finances, can we maintain some level of success and stability without a large benefactor?
  10. Okay we may well not be in the running for the title etc etc however I don't think I'm alone in enjoying the football we are currently playing. That and it's exciting to see the academy grads playing often and playing well. Throw in the fact that our league campaign might result in one or more of ours off to Brazil in the summer, now that's rather exciting!
  11. Use an add blocker and/or internet security. As others have said basically fine as long as you don't download anything. With wiziwig it very much depends which link you follow, I would suggest http://www.nutjob.eu/ but with an adblocker to avoid pesky ads!
  12. Brilliant that you immediately identified yourself as a tool

    Danny Ings

Surely it is more about potential? Ings is a fair way behind Rodriguez in his development so it is more of a case of "does he have the potential to be better than" not "is he better then" Either way potential is subjective and tricky to value, a player is always one injury away from oblivion, but I like what I have seen of him so far and I get the impression plenty of Burnley fans do too.
  14. Don't think he has actually moaned ... Honestly see this is usual tittle tattle and, if he does decide to go, we as a club should be okay. Let's not worry eh!
  15. Got four this morning, had to wait about 45 mins but not too tricky.
  16. Really, really doubt it ...
  17. Danny Ings? Young, hungry, saints fan, proven goal scorer, potential to grow and we have done good business with Burnley before. Not the thread for it I know but felt like speculating anyway
  18. I have a lot of respect for that. Always been class has Beattie and genuinely hope he does well in management. He was my favourite saint growing up and would love to see him back with the club in some capacity one day!
  19. No but come to compete for no1 jersey in an improving prem side with a keeper who may not have too many more quality years ... maybe.
  20. Shocked to see samuel eto still in there! a world class finisher still but never in the top 100 in the world these days!
  21. For many of us it's simple, money. I prefer live games, love them, but as a student it's a rare luxury. I still want to watch saints as often as I can though even if it is with a dodgy canadian stream. More realistic pricing, even for cup games etc would entice the likes of myself into the stadium more often.
  22. No worries! All have to be wrong now and then. Common sense yes but it is still relatively new to the English game, I remember a few years back people were baffled by the Europeanisation with directors of football becoming commonplace! Now it does seem baffling that one man should be in charge of the first team and all it's dealings without more background planning going on.
  23. I will admit I've been sceptical about a lot of the top down management and called for more pragmatism but sometimes we have to concede we were wrong and others know best. I hope people keep some faith though with the way we are doing things even if we have a blip! The way the academy boys have looked so seamless on coming into the first team is proof enough for me we're doing plenty right!
  24. Some good points. I think a great deal of it comes down to having a style of play. We know how we play and it is taught through the academy. Given time I imagine Moyes will sort them out and build a team he wants playing his way. Just look at some of the football Everton played last year without the massive resources (albeit with less pressure!). Perhaps a little cheeky of Savage but always nice to get plaudits and I am shocked to say I think Utd could learn a lot from the way we do things!
  25. http://nutjob.eu/njtvx28.html seems okay so far though robbie earle (what a blast from the past!) seems confused by our line up ...
