I know it’s being painted as Forster wouldn’t sign so he was the one who had to go, but couldn’t we just have let them both of them go next year and sign two keepers summer? One Premier League quality (Romero? Johnstone?) and one young keeper. McCarthy has proven he’s not good enough, even for the bench and sadly Forster has lost whatever he had when he arrived.
-
Think I missed that one...
-
There are a lot of Liverpool fans up my way and they all rate Phillips. General consensus is that it’s a shame he’s going but they understand he wants first team football. He was there player of the month in March or April apparently so this idea he was rubbish for them clearly isn’t true. He was a part of the team that went on a great run to seal Champions League football.

I agree but I dare say with the numbers we have in the 10 position they will say Romeu, JWP, Diallo and if needed Armstrong, we have enough
-
Not saying it’s not a good message. I just think the cause receives a disproportionate amount of attention relative to the actual problem. There are many other causes or issues that would benefit from this level exposure but they aren’t on trend at the moment.

Wheelchair racing for half time entertainment? One lap around the pitch, first to knock the ball in the net wins.

He’s said goodbye to everyone at Blackburn and is coming for a medical tomorrow. Sounds pretty much done to me.

I think Tella’s best position in behind the front 2 and whilst an option to buy would be ideal, a straight up loan is still not bad. If he’s crap, we can send him back. If he’s great, at worst we’ve had a good season out of a younger player for a small fee. At best, it might give him a taste for it and he might not be happy going back to sit on the bench in which case you’d imagine we’d have a head start.

Was this not the Quincy Promes transfer window?
-
But we have a very limited budget. 10-15M and 40k a week on wages for a keeper is money we don’t have elsewhere for positions we have no adequate cover for. I’m much more comfortable having McCarthy and Forster in goal then I would be having Long and Redmond up top.
-
I imagine it’s to do with the extortionate wages we’re already paying to two of our goalkeepers. And with Hart going to Celtic, it doesn’t look like Forster will be off there.

What the f**k is going on. Done with this rabble

Perhaps he might have been worth 30m or more to us if he had stayed for his final season. But that would require him to stay injury free and firing on all cylinders for a year which as we saw last year, is no guarantee. Also, you’d have to wonder where his head would be at if he thought he had a big move lined up at the end of the season. Would he be going all out? Would he not be a bit cautious every time he felt a slight niggle? For me, I agree with Ralph and think it’s important we have got it sorted now and have the money in the bank. Now it’s time for the board to step up... -
Or it’s an indication of how good this lad could be given that Ralph see’s it as an opportunity we can’t afford to miss.

They were zooming in on him being resuscitated multiple times. Then when his wife arrived on the pitch, the kept the camera on her being comforted by Kasper Schmeichel. They could very easily have cut to the studio. It was clearly instantly that this was a dire situation.

I think this is what everyone who has slated Redmond has wanted and probably justifies the criticism as it shows he is capable. This is the first time in God knows how long that he has actually played with any conviction. More of the same please!

We defend free kicks brilliantly. Seem to catch them out everytime these days.
-
I think Klopp was pretty fair there to be honest. Whilst the penalties were not clear cut, there is a debate to be had about them. He praised our performance and the teams mentality. Said he respects Ralph in a sperate interview as well. Don't know what else we would expect him to say.

We'll stay 3rd unless Leicester win later. Spurs were already above us.

Looks like something from a level on Super Mario back on the SNES

I'd agree largely regarding the quality of the sides. I think the biggest thing most other fans and the media miss is just how long we've sustained this upturn in form for. I think many view it a bit like Everton and Villa's good run earlier in the season. Since the Watford game in November last year , only two sides have more points than us: Liverpool and City. I know we've had the lockdown break but that's 33 games, nearly a full season. At what point do people actually seriously consider European contenders? And I include our own fans in that.

For anyone that is interested/hasn't seen it, Pochettino was the guest on MNF tonight. He spoke very highly about his time at Southampton and the staff and players he had here. I also liked the way he was very quick to praise Nigel Adkins for the fitness and quality of the squad he inherited. The whole video is below but the section on Southampton starts at 26:45. https://hdmatches.net/2020/11/02/video-leeds-united-vs-leicester-city-highlights-full-match-02-november-2020/#0

Slightly disingenuous. He was saying what a brilliant job he had done - called him a genius - and said he would have him at United any day. He was speaking purely as a United fan.
-
From matchday 14 ,was the Watford game in November, until the end of the season we were 4th in the form table. Were 6th so far this year. One hell of an achievement.
-
To be fair to Valery he has had a hell of a lot going on in his personal life. Not surprising that his performance has suffered.

Messi earned roughly £98m in the last financial year with salary and endorsements. Think his weekly wage is about £500k. No idea what value you could put on what he brings to Barce in terms of commercial deals and success on the pitch.
