  1. Look so vulnerable from set pieces again.
  2. How bloody prophetic was that...
  3. No disputing Lallana is a decent footballer, but his self PR is awful and shows him to be a narcisstic ***** willing to dump on anyone at any given opportunity to promote his own interests. I refer more to the way he talks about Klopp and infers MP is better man manager, as opposed to his Saints comments which just show him to look a bit weak as already mentioned and seems a poor attempt to claw back some sympathy after the way he behaved upon exit.
  4. Hmm... But we don't... Yes we have relative points but we had far easier home start this season and team confidence was clearly much higher last season. Still time... But let's not kid ourselves we should have 4 pts minimum regardless of formation tactics etc with squad we still have. This is the major source of concern and doubt and why there is suspicion even from those normally with a lot more optimism. Still time to get the 'new direction' but the worry is that there is an air of complacency from top to bottom, and as fans we know how bad that can be on a single match day let alone across a whole season.
  5. I think only getting two points in the last 3 games, with player angst, would have been worth it for Mane. Sorry to bang on about it. I still think he should have been the exception to the rule and will prove to be the one that got away. If we were ever going to hold out against player pressure he was the one to do it with, as much as I love Fonte. Still that's done and gone, so I hold hope Boufal can be even better when he gets goin
  6. lol well he has got to at least be happy at his decision to sign for us. Good sign for our teams England eligible players going forward...
  7. Also my feelings in a nut shell. If we had a guaranteed goal scorer I'd feel better but for the first time in Many seasons I find my faith in the squads ability wavering. Let's see what the next few games bring.
  8. Every transfer window for last few seasons official Saints Twitter page post when our dealings are done, sometimes that is before deadline day sometimes late on it. I'm waiting for that tweet before I give up hope of a striker.
  9. Pelle surely. Despite all the moaning he guaranteed goals every season. He hasn't been replaced...yet...
  10. The booing was for the ref. Although some ****s near us did seem to have a moan at Tadic going off, even though he was largely anonymous just before making way.
  11. Reading it back this morning nor do I...
  12. (my mate) rohypnol?... this seems to be the message mostly implied from the article. So reading barely between the lines MP uses 'fragrances' and 'herbal' highs to induce naive players into believing he is special...figures Klopp however prays on the similarly vulnerable by pretending to be their special friend in order to get them to do what he wants. I always knew it...the beard was a giveaway... Lallana was a victim and was bullied into carrying an armband of importance by that evil midget Cortese. What am i reading? it's like a ****ing chapter from Mills and Boon or Fifty Shades of Grey... ‘As soon as I mentioned that to him he was like, “This . . . This . . . This needs to stop! You can’t feel the weight of speaking to the chairman if results aren’t going well! This is my job! You are my player! I want you to be free!” ‘The relationship grew from there. I would call into his office two or three times a week, to look at clips and things. He would offer me his mate (South American herbal tea). I remember him having these joss sticks lit and that smell reminds me of being in his office.’ ‘There aren’t too many managers who you would have a friendship with after going your separate ways but I do with him,’ says Lallana. ‘Last year, of course I was desperate for Tottenham to win the league but it was for him' **** me anyone would think Lallana was trying to engineer a move to Tottenham with this kind of absolute noshing off of MP... if i was cynical I'd think that Lallana has been told he may not be first choice this season... rats and sinking ships? (his own, rather than clubs) Reading the rest of the article and highlighting it down to one or two lines after all the drivel above about MP being incredible... Klopp... 'We just have a relationship like normal people do.’ and not that i'm insinuating that Lallana does have any pride issues with his appearance...'with the meeting point the hotel lobby. Klopp was looking at how everyone was dressed and when he saw Lallana he shook his head, smiled and enquired: ‘What the **** is that?' from what i can tell the rest of the interview is Lallana trying to profit off his unfortunate England team mates reputations declining as a result of the Iceland game and Lallana luckily not being deemed good enough even for that task ...i wasn't picked... but I could have turned the game...maybe...probably not...but maybe.... Sorry but Lallana I had no problem with when he left us other than the how, he did a good job as a footballer for us, but when he does this sort of **** you see his personality is ****ing awful, he is a true narcissist, believing he is far better than he is and a proper mercenary ****. God knows what backroom politics he may have been involved in but can only interpret from his public actions and interviews he was a ****ing snake. Rules seem to be: Y person is boss/has power. x person is brilliant and reasons why. Y person is okay and wouldn't have bad thing to say about them etc. Jeez I'm more offended for Liverpool in this article than I was for us back when he took out that embarrassingly narcissistic advert in the local paper that backfired. (sorry for rant... Cider and vomit worthy article made me do it. Beer has always had this way of making me feel amazing and special and it was a real privilege to drink beer I always look out for it, but cider is great and I think we will do well together, I look forward to working with it in the future.)
  13. love it. Welcome to the forum and if we do finish the deal for Boufal, sorry and thanks, we Saints fans know all too well how it feels on the other end.
  14. Yeah if the club thinks Charlie's got it I'll back that, but neither him or Jrod has had much of an impact in first two games so wouldn't be surprised if another was brought in.
  15. Sounds more like something West Ham or Tottenham would do.
  16. Well i'll be happy if he can at least have a hand in 20 goals at the moment. Don't care who puts the ball into the net or who played the last touch. Runners giving the defense a fright opens space for others and this was Manes biggest contribution. Defending against us is a very predictable task at the moment and is about concentration more than individual defensive skill to stop a tricky player opening you up and running for it. Boufal ticks that box and makes it all the harder to predict our build up play and movements. A striker with more consistency than Long and great positioning for polishing off chances is then the icing on the cake.
  17. With you on this one. Man Utd will spank a few teams at home, we did admirably, with players and manager still finding their feet. 2 players in and a couple more games to find our feet then we will know.
  18. Have no idea what to make of Charlie Austin. Had no real chance to prove his worth to be fair. Has undoubted pedigree, yet seen nothing in even his brief cameos to have much realistic hope. So I'm holding out that he is one of those magic players who on the day just knows where to be. Praying he'll come on and play a blinder cementing his place in a live game scenario where he excels and we won't look back...
  19. If he goes... Fonte leaving will be the biggest loss we have suffered since promotion IMO. He is the beating heart of our defence has been the one constant in all the changes of recent years and our success recently is built on the solid foundations of his good organisation at the back no matter the manager or forward players. Lovren, Alderwiereld and Van Dijk have all come in and felt at home instantly. Yes they are great and arguably Van Dijk is best of the lot but defence is the key to success in the Premier League and having the confidence to boss it and call it like Fonte does comes from being in the role for as long as he has.
  20. Gut feeling is that Redmond has been so massively overhyped recently (don't get me wrong I think he will be a solid signing for us) because we aren't getting anyone else in and that was supposed to be the signing to wet the fans lips with anticipation and the club misjudged its weight with fans. Clubs PR is very cynical in the way it behaves, evidence of the Alderweireld, Koeman, Poch style dealings. I really, really hope that my instinct is wrong but got a feeling this season will be the one where we don't quite achieve what we have recently come to expect (which has been awesome so far) and we end up in that scrappy mid lower table but yet ultimately safe scrap that Everton have found themselves in recent years. Unfortunately this will doubly suck for the Koeman comparisons (who let's be honest really isn't that special) and the media story of Saints... Finally a Sale too far etc... P.S Hope I'm wrong but I've come pretty close in recent seasons, gave us seventh last season and ninth before. Reckon 12th at moment. If Fonte leaves 15th, if we sign Boufal who has felt like our target of choice a la Mane in that particular season then maybe 8th again. On the other hand at the start of the transfer doom after Mane and Pelle left I think we are only two signings short of top 6.... Courtesy of Mystic Mug
  21. Defensively they aren't all that and can be got at... but Ibra is bloody dangerous just by himself and has looked really good with the link up play as well with his gangly flicks and tricks. We'll see what we are really made of. If Man Utd got Fonte I reckon the league title would become realistic for them, at the moment other teams with better defences will beat them to it imo.
  22. 1/10 for Saint robbie
  23. Fonte's organisation of the defence is what made us top 10. Anyone failing to recognise that hasn't been paying attention. His age is irrelevant To that skill and isn't something that we are likely to be able to just go out and buy and immediately set to work. If Fonte goes this season and we once again don't replace him I dare say it will be all about getting survival first and foremost this year.
  24. Think I must have missed a season as the midfield looks nearly identical to last few competitive games I saw. Tadic, JWP, Davis. The only change I can see is Romeu who looked great when Wanyama was off on one of his many suspensions and in pre season. Redmond and long are playing as strikers. Yoshida and target are backups because first team are t ready. Wtf is uninspiring? We have to make changes but in truth tbe core of our team is first choice. **** your pants after the match give the new lads a chance to prove their worth, could yet be an upgrade.
