Would you BOYCOTT? Ways to get rid of Lowe and the board
John Smith replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
But then FC, you miss the point, the reason you were excited to begin with, was due to the OS and Lowe, telling us that we were in for a football revolution, where 'total football' would take center stage. Which fans wouldn't be excited at that? And at the start of the season, you felt that playing like this, the results would surely come. But they didn;t, and they still don't. Now, almost two thirds of the season gone, we're reverting to a more even balance, maybe we'll try a different system, maybe Lowe will sack JP, who knows? Truth of the matter is though, IT DIDN'T WORK! However you look at it, however you parade it, dress it up or cry, IT DIDN'T WORK! So, was it a gamble? Who made that gamble? Or do you think that a Chairman is justified to gamble like this? Particularly when we are already in the mess we are? Surely, the safe bet would've been to stick with NP? Maybe going with an English manager that knows the division, knows how to train youngsters and work with experience, knows how to play football at this level, would've been more of a positive move? And, if you agree, that taking chances when we can't afford to, then maybe you could take the courage to agree that Lowe cannot carry on, he has trifled and played his games for too long, and they will continue. But, if you disagree, then you must be the type of person, that if they lose their job in this terrible time, will take their last pay cheque and bet it all on Red. Because it don;t make sense! Lowe is an imbicile and he gambles with this clubs money, our money. He is a liability and must go. Nothing about class, nothing about hockey, just looking at his time since our relegation season, he's lost the plot and is dragging us down with him. But, by all means, jibber on and justify his claims and exaggerations with drivvle. Ignore the fact that HE made a massive mistake of monumental proportions and do like the rest of his board do, ignore it. Close your eyes and your ears and say nah nah nah, I'm not listening. And then, when you open them again, expect to see us in the Prem, top of the CCC or pushing for Europe, because it ain;t gonna happen. -
I don;t know the ins and outs, and I'm sure there was blame on each part. However, I don't think we would have ever seen a Saints stadium in Eastleigh, and IMO, nor should we. Southampton is where the stadium should be. Should we pay homage to Lowe for acquiring SMS? No, don;t be silly. He never 'found' it, he was given it, he just said yes. Fair play, he could've said no and The Dell sold and we have no ground to play in, but he didn;t. Let's put stoneham to rest, was never going to happen, never did happen, never will. Let's also put to rest this 'Lowe gave us SMS', he didn;t, the council did. Not blaming Lowe for anything, and also not giving him any credit for anything. IMO, anyone who was chairman at Saints at this time, would've said yes to the site, if they were in the same situation.

So, on this rationale, if Nigel Pearson had been retained, we'd ne top of the league. Look at his record, gaols for, goals against and points and we would be running away with the league. Oops, sorry, I thought you were joking. But you;re serious aren't you. You seriously believe that we were better off with DMG and Robertson, rather than John, Rasiak and Saga! 'My eyes are dim I cannot see, I have not brought my specs with me, I have not brought my specs with me'.

The fans know what it takes to stay up, question is, do the players have it in them to deliver? We are not down yet, but we need to start fighting, scrapping and clawing our way out of this situation. The future is in the teams hands, there's nothing more that anybody else can do (once the window is shut).

Hi Frank, I read all your post, but wanted to comment, I agree largely with this paragraph, in fact I think it is why you are easier to debate with. However, the main point we disagree on is your last sentence regarding the desire for change, particularly this part - "but that surely does not undermine the positives or logic of some of the ideas?" - And I would argue that 'because' of the above issues, I would say "and so, this turned my head and made me scrutinise the issues more fully and found that going all the way back to the reverse takeover, Lowe has been on the middle of all of the 'issues' at SFC, therefore it is time for change" This, plus my idea of what Lowe really wants to achieve, got me thinking. I think that Lowe has a different plan (and always has), that football is a business and he will treat it like a business. Not news to most, I also think that the academy was a part of that business. Now, the academy is a major part of that plan and the current business, because it is largely through this academy that the money, aside from matchday ticket sales, will come from. Again, not news. However, examining this a little further, I came to the following conclusions. Let's assume Lowe is here for the business, what is the product? For me, and probably most fans, it is 'the football'. But would Lowe define the product as the football. I think not, I think Lowe would have broken this down more tangibly, ie, 'the product' is in fact, the players. The players are the only commodity in the business (now) that can be bought or sold. The fans, if treated, marketed, in the right way, will continue to be loyal and a guarenteed income stream. And this is where I think Lowe's problems are. I don;t think Lowe understands what we expect, as customers, in order to remain loyal. Let me try to draw and analogy - If I was Chairman of a Theatre, where the show produced caused the customers to turn up, it would largely be down to the cast as to the draw of the crowds. Some customers would turn up regardless of the cast, because they were a fan of the show and enjoyed watching the show regardless of cast, and enjoyed comparing the cast. These would be the loyal customers. The product would be the show as you cannot bye or sell the cast. However, with football, it is the cast that is the product and the football (the show) is the draw for the customer. This is because we don't care who is performing, like in showbiz, as long as they are loyal and fully comitted to the cause, and give 100%all the time. Maybe this is why Lowe missed the point with Hoddle, yeah, sure most would now overlook his disloyalty from back then, but, when he was proposed to return, it was all still too raw for many. This wouldn't be the case with the show, so much, because few would think an actor or Producer going off to produce another show, as disloyal. In summary, maybe, the reason Lowe doesn't get it right, when it comes to football, is that he still doesn't get it. Sure, we'd all love a great academy whereby International stars are born year in year out, but we'd actually like to see them stay here and play for us for a bit. We don't rationally look at the value of producing them to a given standard and then the 'profit' we make on selling that potential for a damn sight more than it actually cost us. many of us like to see some sort of consistency in our first teamers (appearance wise I mean, although I would like to see this reflected in ability also), as this would go someway to providing proof of their loyalty. Like Andrew Surman, like Kelvin Davis, stay here for a few years and play well, and in some cases, improve, do better and inspire, respect to KD for doing this. On the back of this, I believe that Lowe cannot comprehend his 'customers' loyalty to the product? I believe he felt that through clever PR, spin and marketing, football fans are a sturdy bunch that take little influencing to turn up week after week. And so, I am currently wondering if I have been a bit 'harsh' on Lowe, because he still, sadly, just doesn't get it! He still sticks to his old principals, has tried different ways of appealing to his customers - 'total football', academy players, home grown talent and play-off push (even though this was stacked against us) - but falls short because 'he just doesn't get it'! And I can understand why, to some respect. Even if you have football running through your veins, I think that you would find it difficult to explain what is the attraction about it, and then find 20,000 other likewise footballing people that totally agree with you 100%, crikey, we struggle on here, a posting membership of a few hundred, to agree on anything. Therefore, how can I expect someone who has never denied, not being an avid football fan before he arrived, to understand what few agree about? Could Lowe ever fully understand the 'concept' of being a lifelong Supporter? Fully comprehend why someone would turn up week in, week out, come rain, hail or snow, regardless of ability to win, in order to shout vocal support and pay for that privilege? Some would begin to understand, some would begin to comprehend, some would even fall in love with football themselves, but not Lowe, I'm afraid. I don;t think Lowe will EVER 'get it'. Add that to the fact that he keeps missing 'it' by some distance, I think he needs to go.

30,000 share the heights of victory The delight that's all too clear In euphoria we dance and cheer And celebrate together 20,000 take the fight And share in the endeavour Side by side, Not one will hide As victory becomes dimmer 15,000 hold out hope And shoulder all our dreams The brave few soldiers left still standing Dream that will deliver As triumph turns despair And the last stand is all but mustered The brave few souls left to hold Of all but Thirty Thousand

I think you'll find that banks supported football clubs in the past because of two things: 1. the revenue stream kept a large amount of money flowing through the bank 2. Looks good in the community and gives them Kudos and extra marketing With these two items, banks allowed football clubs to be run with less restrictions due to the high profile and return. Nowadays, a bank, that has probably been tied in with a club for years, cannot just run them out of business because it will damage their street cred. They have to tread carefully not to ruin their image. They have to treat FC's as clubs rather than business' and look at the wider picture. However, with the credit crunch and a continuous negative equity, banks are able to put the squeeze on clubs because they are seen more as a business by the public than they used to, and people look inward to the board or mismanagement than the bank 'pulling the plug' or 'pulling the rug from under them'. As a club, we were protected somewhat by the community, asa business we are more likely to be treated as a business, and these guidelines will be dictateed by the banks hierarchy and pushed down to the 'account managers'. As support dwindles, it will become more and more likely that the bank will 'pull the plug'. Maybe they are just weighting for a good day for bad news, Credit Crunch anybody?

I once went for the 'tribal' experience also. I would put it on a par with going to a 'Rage Against the Machine' gig or 'Carter USM', the energy and the anticipation outweighed anything that went on on the pitch, but that built up anticipation was 'unleashed' in a euphoric moment when we scored! I hung my playing boots up 7 years ago, couldn't play anymore and couldn't be arsed to run my arse off to cover 'the kids' that all wanted to go bombing forward and then trudge back. I was always the ball winner and play maker and got a fair few in the net to boot. But enough of my glorious years, what now? When I played, I loved playing at the higher levels because of one thing 'the shape'. The way everyone knew what to do, and when things weren't working, CHANGING! WGS enthused me as a 'supporter' because he was able to view the situation in front of him. He had drilled his squad in many different variations and manipulated the squad to achieve the best possible results. Sure, we didn;t always win, but WGS made sure we were in a position to 'compete' to the best of our players ability. You could see the change right in front of you, you could tell when we were 'squeezing' the opposition, you could tell when we upped the pace, and when we kept the ball, it really did feel like we were watching Brazil. But, since WGS, we have had nobody that has half an ounce of his knowledge! Wigley, not quite sure what his plan was. Harry, OMG, just didn;t have a clue what to do. Sturrock, thought he might do well, but wasn't given a chance. Burley, got the team playing well, in glimpses, but for some reason, played the players out of position beyond belief. Pearson, now you could see that he was laying the base for something. He instilled the confidence first, established his first team, tightened the defence and then worked on attack and then the season was over, but you could see improvement, and most of all - OPTIONS. With JP, I thought we might see a master tactician, someone who might nurture the kids and give them confidence in their own ability, hence the reason I was so unsure about this coming season. However, I did warn that inconsistency would breed a lack of confidence and a knock on effect of loss after loss, regardless of tactics. As I haven;t been to the games this season, I can;t comment on whether JP is a good tactician or not, but one thing is for sure, if I was a senior pro in that team, I would consider leaving, because you just cannot support SO many kids in such a brutal league. Like I said after the game on Sunday, if Jimmy Case was still playing, he would never have allowed DMG to swan around up front. He would be encouraging him to chase the ball down, he would encourage him to find space, he would encourage him to do better! But even Jimmy Case couldn't encourage half a team to do better, to hold their chins up and to pat them on the arse and encourage them further. Whatever the tactics, whatever senior pro's we have, we cannot support this many youngsters (and I don't mean as a fan, but as a player). The balance has never been right from day one. And come the end of the season, if we still have more than 3 youngsters in this team, we will go down (by more than three, I mean 4 5 or 6 etc, 3 is the max). I love tactics, I love working a game out, but we don;t currently have a team that could do that, regardless of the managers tactics.

I'm really sorry Adriansfc, but I think you are being somewhat blinkered. You state that you are "very much in favour of saving the club AND looking long term, rather than the rest of football which seems to be happy endless manager changes, promotions, relegations and instability." Now, I hate to burst your bubble, but, day 1 of Lowe in charge - Manager change, May, we are very likely (certainly if things don;t change) going to be RELEGATED. Instability, seriously, you can;t see it????? Promotions, now there's something yopu won;t see again for a while. Now, you talk about 'the long term'. What improvements, building blocks, investments do you see as being 'for the future'? Currently, we are heading down. We have literally no pro's left at this club, relegation will see Perry gone, Surman and Lallana gone, Skacel gone, Euell, Rasiak, BWP, Saga, in fact, ALL senior pro's gone gone gone. Then, we have to somehow find a team that can play and 'survive' in League 1. No money, poor, poor relations with players and agents, lack of commitment to players' development, our name will be mud. WHO in their right mind will want to play for us considering all of the above? My guess is NOBODY! Then what AdrianSFC, in this 'long term' vision? No senior pro's, no money, probably in administration, possibly lose our ground! This vision of yours, where's the realism in it? When does it get BETTER? When we're in the Ryman League? You are seriously living in dreamland if you think we're improving! But you keep sitting there, lapping up the bull! We're in the sh*t BIG TIME! Things are NOT getting better, NOW or in the 'LONG TERM'! Unless someone does something real quick, this is it matey, Luton will show you what we're in for, go and ask their fans about the 'future', that will hopefully bring you back to planet Earth! We are f*cked. You better believe it. And unless things change RIGHT NOW, that's it everything will be gone. Don;t believe me, just keep going and take a camera, record the fall for prosperity, maybe you could sell it as a documentary. Happy New Year!

Trouble is, we won;t have to tolerate this much longer. Whilst bringing through youngsters and selling them off, we were creaming off the top. The likes of Theo and Bale were tempted here in the first place because we had promising youth teams and a way into the first team. Now, our youth team are the first team and are not supported through their early career by wise pro's. Take McG today, would the likes of Jimmy Case have let him paddle around up front whilst the rest of the team fight to get the ball back? Has the saying, defend from the front, left the corridors of SFC? I'm not slating D McG, just think he wouldn't be 'allowed' to get away with little activity if we had some pro's in the team. But as we will see, the better players are going to go, and like Crewe are finding, the cream starts to disappear and your left with the ordinary. Sure, they may be decent footballers, but every team needs someone that does something different. Be that a tank of a centre forward, a dribbling master,a player that can play a pass that slices through defences like a hot knife through butter, or a 'defensive wall', we will have none of these, just a few old players and some decent youngsters that may one day do something good. We are mediocre and we're not even consistent, so where next? Down, I'm afraid, and then down again, because we will never be able to get better than we currently have and the next lot will only get younger and more ordinary, but then, that'll be the level we are at, be that CCC or Rymans league. Toleration is not the word, acceptance that Luton Town will be passing us on their way up again is what we're in for. So, a new word must be found.

Was Rupert Lowe set up by the remaining Shareholders?
John Smith replied to SaintRobbie's topic in The Saints
Many months ago, some posters were advocating a Real Madrid approach. Many poo pooed it, and rightly so, it was not viable for the fans to be able to buy the club and then fund the purchase of players etc, and so, it was a no starter. How about, when Lowe is forced out, we force the redundancy of all shares, the club is returned and de-listed and 'gifted' to the fans. Then, each year, the likes of Crouch, Fulthrope, Lawrie Mac, whoever, put themselves forward as chairman and the ST holders vote for their favourite. Let's face it, the Chairmans hands are tied by the banks, but maybe it would spur the supporters on a bit and make us feel more tied to the club. Presently, the bank run the show and a goon heads up the board. Surely, we can do better than that! If there was any decency left in the world, the current shareholders would wave them goodbye and allow the fans to rescue the club before they bury it! -
Well, I think today goes some way to showing some of you, the 'type' of person Rupert Lowe actually is. For those of you that don't know what I mean, you are lucky not to have worked with one. Now, this is not a money thing, nor a class thing or anything like that, it is just the way some people are. Maybe there is a reason for it, and I fear that that reason comes from something quite traumatic occurring in their lives or maybe it's from having nothing traumatic happen in your life, either way, the traits that Lowe shows are very clear and poignant to me, and have been for many years. Many on here have claimed I kept quiet whilst we were winning, and some have suggested that I was a season ticket holder and so supported him! Well, there are only 2 ways to deal with this type of person and ONLY 2. 1. Carry on as normal and pretend all is well. 2. Ignore them and banish them from your life. I can happily embrace Lowe, makes no difference to me, as I have shown, I can also get riled by Lowe, as I have equally shown. BUT, if you really want to get rid of Lowe, there is only 1 way to do this and it is the most common form of truth you'll see ona forum like this: - Don't feed the troll! If you go to games, you are giving him an audience, it is an audience for him. Make no mistake about it. You are not there to support saints (in Lowes eyes) you are there to support him and his vision. The ONLY way that Lowe will go is if nobody noticed. SMS would have to be empty, all shares would have to be sold or given away and he is allowed to have complete autonomy over his kingdom. Believe me, it is the struggle to succeed that keeps Lowe in power. Failure is not an option and even if that means relegation and/or administration, he will continue, trying to prove everybody wrong and him right. Oblivion is the only thing that will stop him. Me, I choose not to attend because it allows me to wash my hands of sad individuals like this. And trust me, he is an individual. People aren't friends with people like Lowe, they are associates, and they generally need something from him. In our case, we want to watch our football team. He therefore has a reliable form of 'need'. We 'need' him because he runs the club. I'm not advocating that everyone stops going to SMS. Not at all. I'm just telling you that this is the only way that Lowe will leave, because he would've won. Some keep asking for a knight in shining armor to come along with millions, well, the easier and less painful option, would be to leave him to wallow in his own self glorification and leave of his own accord, then we pick up the pieces. Me, I'd be happy to turn up and watch conference football to get my fix and watch a team grow and fail on it's own merits. But I won;t watch puppets jiggle around ona stage (a cheap one at that) whilst the puppet master has his fun and 'believes' that we'll all be back next week for more of the same! For me, this is all about Lowe, his anchor men (who probably have a £1 bet in the background on the outcome of Lowes tenure) and his adversaries. I, for one, am happy to step back and let them play there silly little games, why, because I have more important things to do with my life than waste it on going to games and worshiping my 'master' once a week, hell, that's what church's are for, aren't they? I don't go, because I will not give Lowe my mandate to rule. Owning shares and attending games shows your support for Lowe, because he is the puppet master and you are all his puppets. Please, be happy with this, if you are, I have no problem with that, and I wish you a Merry Christmas on this wonderful Pagan festival! Never forget, there is always someone, somewhere that pretends to be someone they are not.

O Come All Ye Faithful Joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to St Mary's Stadium. Come and behold Him, Born the King of Angels; O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Ro-ooo-pert Lowe

Absolutely agree, the thousands that have stayed away have been the main driving force behind relegation this season. Ruperts hands have been tied from installing his plans by the bank and the fans. If we had had 30,000 + this season, we would not be in this state, Rupert has come back to save us, but some need saving from themselves! Lowe has given us sexy football, a better chance of staving off administration, a team worthy of the play offs and shed the club of ALL the journeymen. If the crowds had followed this also, then we would be looking up to the Prem and not down to Div 3! It's the fans fault and they should pay the penalty for this! I also think it's a disgrace that ST Holders have been buying tickets on behalf of 'friends'! Friends who should already have bought ST's! Or am I missing the point, that it's loyal to be a Saints fan, or, it's loyal to be the 'friend' of a ST holder! By my reckoning, there will be the away end (full) and 9,000 ST holders, plus all the empty seats they bought to prevent those plastic fans from turning up. Let's win this one for Rupert!
-
No one of the sort. I understand that some of you 'I hate him but there is no one better' gang, can't see the brilliance of the guy. We had NO money when he came back, we've had to sell all of our experienced players, and on a shoestring, turned to the academy and bled some fine examples of Englands future. Glenn Hoddle is currently doing something similar at HIS academy. Lowe obviously saw this in him and thought that he would be the best man to bring the youngsters through. JP is second choice, but only narrowly so. Pearson was not even in the picture, he couldn't manage a bunch of toddlers, let alone the youngsters of the future! But at least I agree with you on the point that NOBODY else could do a better job than Lowe, this time or last. By hook or by crook, he got involved in SFC. He obviously saw it as a great business venture and dreamed of turning it from a Prem also ran into the football club of the future. In doing so, creating loyal, lifelong customers for the brand and eventually going global. The 2 years or so that he has had out, has done nothing other than re-ignite that flame, and we can clearly see that we are on the right path to achieving this 15 year plan goal. A steady churn of academy players, funding the first team, providing a dividend and paying for a full time chairman and other paid executives that are waiting in the wings to help steer this company to greater profits in the future. I can only look to his success's in other business, such as WH Ireland, to show that the man is pure genius, getting involved in the banking world so heavily, just as the bottom fell out of the market, and still e manages to stay clear of bad publicity and return profits, whilst trimming the employee wage bill. If it weren't for Lowe, and his business brilliance, we would never have cut any of the costs that we did, which, has helped us go from strength to strength. Like you Nick, I share this 10 year dream, Lowe is here for the long term and the rest of the' lunatic fringe' want results now, well, they'll be coming back in their droves in 5 years time, when we reap the fruits of our labour, from the seeds we sow today.
-
Lowe worked tirelessly in the pre-season, to bring in these guys. We had no money but still Lowe managed to convince the banks that Spiderman was a worthy purchase. If I remember rightly, Saints were one of, if not the top, summer spenders in this division, this closed season. We also got some good freebies and masterful loanee's. JP, has been the conductor of Lowes masterpiece and has been influential in getting the team to gel together. JP's knowledge of other leagues is second to none and spotting the likes of Spiderman was brilliant. Getting in Cork, a virtual unknown, also ran at Chelsea, and getting him playing like a thoroughbred, was exceptional. As for tinkering in team affairs, I doubt it. We all know that Lowe is only paid for 2 days a week, he wouldn't give his time on a Saturday PLUS business input for free. We are just lucky that Lowe attends on Saturdays, after all, not being paid to do so, he doesn't have to. It's not as though him turning up costs Saints any more money! And even if he did impart his knowledge of the English game onto JP, you can't deny he knows what he's talking about, he's been heavily involved in the game for 10 years plus, JP would surely welcome his knowledge. Lowe is not devisive, he is THE most experienced employee at SFC, we should listen to him more often - IE Hoddle!
-
Lowe has come back, and with his returning business acumen, has been nothing short of a miracle worker! Without him, where would we be financially? We'd be potless and at the mercy of the banks and have administration looming large. As for the divisiveness amongst fans, I don't see it? As far as Rupert and the true fans of Saints are concerned, everything is going to plan. The rest of those that used to frequent SMS, were rightly identified by Lowe as the 'lunatic fringe'. There is no room for division amongst the true fans of SFC and the only answer is to fully get behind everything that Lowe says and does. JP was a master stroke and nobody could do it more cheaply than him and Wotte and those other five assistants. And as for the playing staff, I'm glad to have ridden Saints of journeymen such as John, Rasiak and Saga, much prefer the lively youth up front such as DMG and Jordan Robertson! As Lowe said at the beginning of the season, we should be aiming for the play offs, and after a successful Christmas run of games, I can't see why that isn't a possibility. So all those negative stay awayers will miss out on our promotion push. They'll all come flooding back though, once we return to the Prem, bloody lunatic fringe!
-
This is absolutely not true! Anyone that supports Saints is currently a ST holder. All the rest are football followers that don't care about Saints, but only the glory in supporting a high flying Prem team that we were under Lowe only 5 years ago. All of those that haven;t got a ST, should be listed and banned from ever returning. If Lowe left, attendances would remain exactly the same. There would, however, be a solemn memorial at the sad news, but we would rejoice as Mugabe became the new Chairman. Because it's not the man in the Chair, it's the team on the pitch that counts.
-
Absolutely, and it is in part down to these morons that Lowe has HAD to intervene and PAY for posters to support this club. If it weren't for these 'moronic' fans, the club wouldn't be spending out on these PR companies, who, I must say, do an excellent job in promoting Lowes brilliant business acumen. In fact, it is thought, that Barclay's ONLY reason for continuously backing SLH is because Lowes WH Ireland could bankroll this entire company. The Business managers at Barclays quite often phone Lowe for advice, allegedly, true, this isn't cast as money into SLH, but it does build up a good relationship between the two. So, I say welcome to those fabulous PR people, at least they know the man that is Lowe, unlike us morons on this site!

God the people on this forum are ridiculous...
John Smith replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Exactly right, and until Lowe tells us that he is retiring, there is no need to talk about a predecessor. Lowe is the ONLY man for the job. We have seen Saints go from strength to strength this season and we're so far better off than we were when he wasn't here. If Lowe had been in charge 2 years ago, we wouldn't have spent any money and got the youth team in sooner. JP would've been our manager instead of GB and we wouldn't have had to concern ourselves with the SFA buying him out of his contract, because Lowe would've got him to pay for his own compensation package. Nobody has done a better job than Lowe at any other football club around the world, and his pioneering attitude makes him unique amongst men. -
God the people on this forum are ridiculous...
John Smith replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
How dare you question the drollness of Rupert 'The Savior' Lowe! If it weren't for Rupert, Southampton FC would not be half as successful as they are now! Rupert has put Saints on the Soccer World Map! And if he was ever forced ouot again, which is highly unlikely, as there is no one quite so super duper as Rupert, this club would whither and die. Your words are tantamount to heresy! -
God the people on this forum are ridiculous...
John Smith replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
We have to face facts, Lowe is the ONLY person in the entire world that can run SLH and SFC. The decisions he's made were and are the only options available to this club and when Rupert retires, we will just have to shut down. Rupert Lowe has done a magnificent job and if it weren't for him, we'd be relegated already. He has come in and made the difference to last season, and this season has been so much better than the lasst few without him, it is easy to see where the others went wrong. Rupert Lowe is the savior of Southampton Football Club and on his retirement day, we will all rejoice at his greatness and then march en mass down to Poopey and support them, because Rupert wouldn't want us to go without football and so will pledge our allegiance to poopey on out behalf. We will of course, follow blindly. Without Lowe, there is no Southampton Football Club. -
I see I've got under your skin CB Fry, and your absolute childish manner shows you up for what you really are. There is no debate here, you quite obviously have issues. I do pity you, but I will not mock you anymore, it is obviously unbalancing you. You've made a good innings as a troll, but I fear for your sanity and I won't be the one to push you over the edge. It's highly amusing that you believed that you were having a debate? I think this is the bit that shows you up the most. Arguing with yourself and then off loading that self loathing off onto others is very dramatic, but the childish manner in which you deflect that self loathing is very pitiful. If you really are an adult, I suggest you work on your social skills a little more. Because, acting like a child having a hissy fit and throwing out playground insults is really belittling. I mean, we can all do it, but in EVERY post CB? You really do take the biscuit. And I'm very glad you;re not going to say any more on the subject, I don;t think my splitting sides could take anymore. P.S. The bedwetting name change, oh how I laughed. This really does show your childish insecurities, something you want to tell us CB?

Don;t you worry yourself little man, I can cope with your posts, (pats CB on the head). Couple of quotes from my original post, that you feel so worthy a post to reply on and 'debate' on whilst apparrently doing something on your bedsheets, you really shouldn;t judge others by your own standards and actions, makes you look silly, any way, two quotes, one from mthe first paragraph, one from the second, the third was a conclusion: "To me, this reminds me of a period in our history where we were going forward" Note how I begin the sentence with "to me". "we can compare ourselves to teams like Sunderland or Norwich or Portsmouth or whoever, but for me, Saints were unique." Note how, just near the end, I state "for me". Now I know it's difficult to read my post without trying to argue your own point and not actually what I wrote, but it's not the first time and I'm sure it won;t be the last. |From what I can tell, this thread was about the past and really CB, if you have nothing to say about the past, go and post elsewhere. I NEVER said anything about it being there being many glorious years at the Dell, but you and the age thing: "I must have missed the glorious days of success the Dell brought us" - 1984 was quite a good year don't you think? But like you say, you must've missed it. So, in conclusion, I stated that The Dell was Unique for me, I also visited the Goldstone (think that's how it was spelt) in 1978, Brighton were playing Wolves and Andy Grey was up front for Wolves. Also went to Craven Cottage when Lineaker was playing for Leicester, I had a picnic on the banks of Plough Lane when Wimbledon weren't even in the football league, but going to the Dell was Unique for me. I'm sure (from what I have heard), Roker park was unique for them up North, and now they play in a one size fits all stadium. If you wish to share your thought CB, then do, but if you have nothing good to say, don;t say anything at all. You followed me on this thread just to have a go, no, you don;t concern me, you worry me, you worry me that you're very lonely and you have no good memories, but then that's your hang up, not mine. Have a good life.
