I think we probably will have done, with the possible exception of Chambers. Whether any new centre half is in early enough to play is another matter.
-
He's not going to fire up foreign players who are considering a move. Not many goalkeepers would, to be honest. But now we've brought five players in (and spent some decent money in doing so) I think people should understand that we are in business and looking to compete.
-
They do, quite a lot - all the broadsheets have great commentators but David Conn and Rory Smith have been especially good on that subject. Rod Liddle is a provocative columnist, not a full time sports journalist.

That's a relief, I was quite worried that Koeman resorted to Mayuka yesterday.
-
I'm not optimistic result-wise but god, I'm looking forward to this. I'm not sure it would be wise to throw a new centre half or goalkeeper in at the deep end. We'll miss Rodriguez and could really do with some pace going forward because we'll be playing on the break. Might see Isgrove start for that reason, or I suppose Redmond if he signs.

More than anything, today's game showed me how badly we need reinforcements at centre half, reinforcements up front and time to fit them all together. Unfortunately we won't get all three before next Sunday. Leverkusen were a decent outfit though, impressed by them until they reached the penalty area. I think we'd have done much better going forward if we'd controlled midfield (with Morgan, perhaps), but they pressed us out of any possession and we were halfway on the break the whole time, which Pelle struggled with.

He's also a very good footballer.

I assume you're joking

I know. It's just that he tweeted Koeman had "told him" those things so might have been before/after he went up there.
-
It's PA, Koeman will have said it but perhaps not in the press conference itself.
-
PA Sport's Tom Allnutt, my emphasis: "The Saints boss confirmed the club are trying to complete deals for Sporting Lisbon's Marcos Rojo and Steaua Bucharest's Florin Gardos while adding he also wants another striker."
-
Eh? Football clubs can play whoever they like in matches.
-
Is there any chance he'll be able to play tomorrow night? An unveiling would be nice but even better to see him get 45 minutes of action.
-
£10m is a lot of money but I think we've got two very good keepers on our books now. If Boruc isn't happy then we'll cross that bridge when we come to it - no point refusing to improve just in case our #2 wants to bail.

Tonight's Evening Standard reports that Nacer Chadli has "already rejected a switch to Southampton" It adds that Spurs are confident of signing Schneiderlin and will "wait until January to buy his teammate, striker Jay Rodriguez."

He doesn't have a particularly good record as a constituency MP. Considering that he'd be attending parliament, attending cabinet, finishing his term as mayor and plotting a leadership challenge I'm not sure he'd do much for you.
-
I suppose it depends on who has the best chemistry and understanding but we'd be without a leader if Fonte didn't start. Steve Davis is the only other option, and I don't see him as a guaranteed starter. I suppose we'll find out.

I never knew David Lynch and Paul Merton were friends.

Van Dijk/Rojo would be even better

I wish him all the best at Liverpool, but this did make me chuckle.

I'm really glad pubs have free wi-fi now

The actual best band in Britain

I remember being convinced that Test Icicles were going to become the biggest band in the world

Players we nearly signed but you're glad we didn't

Damiao? He's still in Brazil and not doing too well by the looks of things. Didn't even make the World Cup squad ahead of Fred and Jo -
He will miraculously transform into a soulless mercenary on the day he leaves
