I think the tide's turning that way. I wouldn't be surprised if some managers started lobbying for it. I mean, leaving the team hotel to try and get a transfer? Well, that's debatable! The window wasn't any less open today than it was a month ago, and as Real Madrid and Man Utd have found out, it does close pretty firmly.

My mistake

£20m plus Townsend would have been a good deal for a wantaway player. Think we may have accepted that had it been offered in June rather than now.

He's 19.

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal

I imagine it is for tomorrow's paper - it does happen quite often. Were Jeremy Wilson expecting it before we all go to bed, he probably would have written 'tonight'. -
From watching the games and how our confidence dropped it looked like something happened between the second Vitesse match and Everton which shook the squad. Perhaps Wanyama had a big falling out with someone?
-
It was great, wasn't it. Don't forget Chambers, Ward-Prowse and occasionally Gallagher as well. We may have four Englishmen starting towards the end of the season, though (Forster, Bertrand, JWP, Rodriguez)
-
They could certainly use someone who can go outside and cross rather than cut in, not least because Pochettino doesn't seem to fancy Townsend.
-
Anyone still fancy Hernandez now he looks set to go? Don't think he could nab Pelle's place in the team and doubt he'd go from bench at Utd to bench here, so not sure that one will work out. But what a player to have if he could find the form of his first couple of years there.

One of the nicer away days of the season before last despite the rubbish game. Good ground and good folk.
-
Pelle for me too, off the mark quickly and providing stability in what has otherwise been a bit of an uncertain team.
-
What's he doing there? Surely he'd be in a house by now

Is anyone still defending James Ward-Prowse?

Loved the balls out wide today, keeping us on the front foot before Norwich could push out. -
Nah, cheap option What a great way of putting it. Hopefully he'll pick the tempo up once he's settled, but it might be difficult unless he has a consistent midfield partner. He certainly made the role his own today after a few uncertain moments against Midtjyland. Loved the way he sprinted half the pitch to go celebrate the first goal as well.

Cracking performance and a pleasure to watch when he's on song, especially when Mane's doing the same on the other side. Looked a bit of a dive for the second yellow from where I was - anyone who watched on TV able to shed some light?

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 3-0 Norwich City
DuncanRG replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Agreed - nice to see him do well and get forward a bit too. He was shakey on the ball to begin with, but so were others. I was thinking about this earlier, what we'll do when Clasie's back. Romeu looks very good but raking passes or not, Wanyama is immense and needs to play I think. It might even be Clasie who has to wait. I can't wait to see Romeu up against tougher opponents like Utd and Swansea, anyway. -
Sky Sports Sunday Suplement 'Saints would sell Pelle if they could'

I think next summer we might be looking a succession plan, as we did with Rickie when we signed Osvaldo. Hopefully it goes a little better this time. But until then, no, he's great. -
That's not a bad side but there's not an awful lot of star quality, no. Shaw, Stones, Smalling, Clyne could be a good back line for a few years in future if Smalling keeps improving as he has done recently.

No, he's just black. Consider why you ask that question. Glad we shook off some early nerves - could have been very different had Jerome buried that early chance. Great performances from Romeu and Tadic in particular. Looking forward, turning defenders and finding passes unlike Thursday. Not sure why Mané was man of the match. He caused problems and did well for the goals but let a lot of simple passes go astray in the final third. Romeu for me. -
Has he done that? I'm not aware

What's wrong with asking to leave?
