I guess they can do that as their s/t holders are forced to buy for the LC too so there won't be that many tickets to sell. I used to work with a s/t holder Manc who was living in London and when renewing his s/t a few years back he was told by the ticket ofice he HAD to sign up for LC games too if he wanted to renew!! He was not best pleased with this as, living in London, he knew he would not want to actually attend any of these.

Is it that out of the ordinary. They are blatently not part of the squad, haven't been given squad numbers so I wouldn't expect (or want) them to be involved in first team training. They should be alloweed to train with the U21s to keep themselves fit tho. This is no different to what happens at all clubs with players not in the first team squad (look at Flaurant Malouda at Chelsea who trained with the reserves for all of last season after not being included in their first team squad).

A great fact, was it not that it is in fact an urban myth. The Forecast transfer had no connection at all with the Bale deal. We signed TF as we thought he had decent potential which was reasonable as at the time was highly thought after and Spurs had rted him enough to name him as their sub GK for numerous PL games. He just turned out to not live up to these expectations prob more down to attitude than ability.

One the Hoos/Hone crew confirmed that what happened was that the club had a phone call from someone saying they represented Allen but when the club did some enquires this person was not who they said they were. The press and mongboards did the rest, but I would strongly suspect that even to this day Paul Allen hasn't the faintest idea that there is such a thing as 'Southampton Football Club'.
