You remember at recent UK elections, where they were expecting close results and all the media were going to set up studios in front of parliament, while there was confusion of how to form a government. Then the results rolled in and it was a clear cut victory, and they all quietly packed up and went home? Well thats whats going to happen this year. In rural Ohio and Iowa you are not seeing the signs for Trump you did 4 years ago, in fact its pretty even in the areas you would expect Trump to easily carry. My prediction is Biden takes Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, Iowa, Arizona (and Texas - I am least confident on this one, but think its possible) Trump keeps Ohio, Georgia and North Carolina. Democrats also get the senate and increase the house.

I balked at paying an addition $4.99 a month to get peacock so i could watch the saints game not on cable in the us. What has got worse this year is that games that were previously on TV, are no longer being shown when there is no other match also on. This has happened for a couple of our games so far this season. My problem is not the additional 5 bucks, but more the accumulation of subscriptions services if you want to see everything. $17 for Netflix, $10 for disney+, $10 for F1, $30 for Sling etc it all the competing services have diluted the offerings at each individual to make it no longer good value. To get a range of UK shows i am interested in I need, all the main platforms like Amazon , Hulu, Netflix, plus add ons, so it no longer is as good as what it used to be but I pay more. So I refuse to add another one.

I am a liberal, and i can unequivocally condemn this by anyone who does it. I do not care if its someone on "my" team or whatever. People who do harmful things to others needed to be found and punished. If we only go after people who "look" like criminals we will leave a lot of dangerous people out their. I have a way of telling who will an election by counting signs. And in the areas where Trump out performed in the election the signs are not outside peoples houses like they were 4 years ago. So I am pretty confident to say he is toast. If he cannot run up the vote in the rural areas like last time there is no way he overcomes the enthusiasm gap. I think for many people they just got board of hearing the same old stuff over and over, without being able to develop new ideas, for the current problems.

They needed a boring, middle of the country senator or governor with a bit of name recognition, Klobucher came closest to that, but she choose loyalty over ambition. So by default it went to Biden. My concern going forward is that in the future an effective autocrat will follow the road map Trump laid to take power and use the office for much worse outcomes. The things which stopped Trump were courts, which in this system can be fixed using the political system given enough time and his laziness and lack of imagination. If someone who really wanted to use the levers available came along, enough people in the right places can be assembled to let them do it.
