I am thinking that the issue we have is that the way we play is not feasibly effective over a season with the players we have. The pressing game consumes players and without a large enough squad you cannot keep it up, even liverpool have consumed the fitness of their players so that they cant mount a defense of the tittle. I think this is why this style can only work for a short period of time if you can make it work long enough you look great, if you cannot obtain your goal before the tanks are empty you look like a muppet.

The offside rule was added to make the game more entertaining, something might have changed in over 100 years but I doubt it. I think the best way would be to put tracking devices on the players then a computer can decide if the tracked part of the body is offside. Since our free fall was arrested by victory in Sheffield I am not nervous, before I was mildly concerned. What I am worried about is how we will get ready for next year, because I would not like the start of next year to look like the second half of this season.

The difference I saw was that he provided positivity, and that he had the ability (mostly) to do what he wanted. It was nice to see a players whose instinct was to advance into space with the ball rather than a) pass it backwards or b) give it to the opposition. If I was Redmond I would be nervous, and you could see when Redmond came on he was more positive in outlook than I have seen in a while. Although that might have been because SU are not that good.

At the end of the season they only count points, not injuries, excuses or circumstances. As the run of bad form has continued I think it is normal to start thinking about what could be. Especially when the injury situation has deteriorated. However my worrying is not going to do anything all we can do is hope that those with direct input can make this work again. We do not need a lot from the rest of the season to be safe. But carrying such a bad second half of the season, will impact next season, such as moral, and who we can recruit over the summer. I suspect ambition is not in short supply among clubs we are competing for talent with, cash on the other hand might be in short supply from all this year.

A Confidence player is not who I want to be relying on to end a slump in form. I first watched Redmond against us when he was with Norwich. The commentators bigged up his skill so I watched with Intrigue, only to see someone fail to really do anything much with the ball. But he was young and up and coming. Saw Norwich a couple more times that season and watched him flatter to deceive. So when we bought him, I was not exactly excited. A player who looks like they could do something but never really did. He carried on in the same vein initially, then hit a patch where he looked decent in a sea of mediocrity. Then has reverted to the mean in more recent times. With this record he is hardly the player to turn it around. Any pace he had will likely have been reduced by aging and injuries, so will not have that in his locker so I am just waiting for his inevitable replacement. My biggest problem with him is that while watching on my phone at work his shinny bald head was easily confused with Djenpo dyed white hair which made me excited to see him on the ball as he is the only one who seems to be able to make anything happen (before the opposition inevitably scythe him down knowing he is our only real creative threat) only to see the more zoomed in shot, realize it was Redmond after all, and watch him inevitably give it back to the opposition.

I think a penalty would be fair for attempting to wrestle someone to the ground, failing falling over as a result of the attempt and then causing the player you initially fouled to go down in the penalty box. I would much rather this be an infraction than some of the other stupid stuff that has been rewarded with penalties.

So how many more loses can we have before we can start to be nervous? Because I am told that we shouldn't worry want to know when I can start.

Right now is showing where our academy has gone wrong, there are very few prospects coming through of a caliber necessary to succeed. In lean times for all, this could have been our advantage, but we squandered that a few years back. I do not know what they did but, if we had some decent up and comers to turn to this injury patch would not have become a crisis. If I was to fault RH, it might be on playing a style that has exacerbated the injury problem. Maybe we went too hard to quick, got an advantage early on and we are paying the price now. But that is beyond my pay grade to understand.
