just about to type this! They videoed him saying 'the skipper is here', so the guess is he is starting as our captain. Would suggest either Yoshida is dropped for Hoedt, or it could just be that Davis is captain but Yoshida merely plays without the captains armband.

and on another note pellegrino led alaves to 9th and this season they are in the relegation zone with 2 wins from 11, again I don't know the context but that gives him a positive spin. at end of the day, both don't appear to be PL standard managers
-
may be the halfway point, but we play Spurs twice in last 19 games too, which i fully expect us to bottle and lose both, so another game that can be counted out... don't see us reaching 40 pts but 37/38 may be good enough this year.
-
hence why i think the next two games are make or break for Pellegrino.

^^ refused to buy membership... then proceeds to buying membership and chelsea tickets. god saints take me for mugs i guess, the things we do eh!

Yeah do agree with this, but at end of day Reed is for fault for all the cr*p he comes out with as well as the fact he choice Pellegrino- maybe another DoF can do better with the structures already here- or in essence, simply become a better wheeler and dealer than Reed has been of late!

Out. Think a better manager than him could get better results but unfortunately think both him and Puel were dealt a rough hand with sh*te players- Forster, Tadic, Redmond- and whilst Ryan and VVD have been c*ap it should be the duty of the manager to motivate these guys. tbh Puel was dealt an even worse hand, no Gabbiadini or Lemina but at end of day both have not been good enough for outlay and wages etc I also blame Reed a lot for this, too many big contracts on players now comfortable to take a pay check on £80-100k a week- which is basically what the majority of Spurs players get paid anyway and they are still doing well. Following Reed, scouting has been wa*k apart from Lemina. Worrying times indeed right now.

is it bad from me that I'm actually slightly happy because I made Salah my captain in my Fantasy Premier League! (might win my work's league and some cash)
-
lost the ball on the edge of our box, tried to be too clever- Firmino easily wins it back and passes it to Wijnaldum to then quickly one touch passes it to Salah (all this on edge of box), before Salah curls it past Forster from outside box
-
feel glad now I didn't travel all the way from Kent for this sh*tshow. I feel like these new contracts have killed us, too many players on comfy £80-100k contracts. Forster's feet too slow but it's all too inevitable.
-
feels like we do better away from home tbh- 8 points from 7 home games versus 5 points from 4 home games. In terms of who I think will go down, don't think it will be us, but think we'll be closer to it than previously- have us in the 40-45 points region- which is rather damning considering the quality of squad compared to our 2012-13 team that managed 41 points.

lol equally that website claims we received £31.5m for Morgan and £15 for Clyne where I thought it was £25m and £12m respectively. Clasie was reported to be £8m in this link (BBC): http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33545453 no doubt you will look for the lesser fees when it comes to us selling players but look for the website which suggests we paid for more than we did in reality.

it was corks introduction in our opening season when he came back from injury we started doing well! (oh and having shaw over fox too i guess) honestly miss that british spine we had back then now that i think about it! Boruc Clyne Fonte Maya Shaw Cork Morgan Davis Lallana JayRod Lambert 7, plus Kelvin sometimes and also Puncheon back then.
-
hoping he comes back absolutely knackered... they play SA twice in the two weeks because CAF banned the original result (where SA won but no longer counts) due to some ref being banned or something.
-
lets not get so arrogant. All 3 of our wins were tbh I'd argue lucky. WHU: needed 2 pens for it Palace: They had some really good chances in that game compared to us and tbh a draw would have been fair result, we were lucky in the sense their shots were at Forster and they didn't have a resurgent Zaha WBA: Well Boufal won't do that all year, and we never looked scoring. Equally however, should have got at least 4 pts from our Burnley and Swansea game, sad we only gained 1. It doesn't matter how strong we are defensively anyway, we need 3 pts not 0-0s and I can't even see us scoring more than 33 goals this season in the PL.
-
as much as jwp is decent at crossing- we never get bloody numbers in the box and gabbiadini himself is also not a hold up player, and all these 6ft+ defenders find it easy to defend against our crosses, in particular cedrics shi*ty ones... however, the reason we get no numbers in the box again is what i believe to be a coaching issue. but also, our players need to do more one touch passing, our best bit of play came from that yesterday and a lot of good goals come from either first time passes/crosses- potentially our players arent good enough for it, particularly Redmond.

Gazzaniga starts for Spurs against Palace
nta786 replied to Golac's Iron Gonads's topic in The Saints
Funnily enough, Forster's only good game this season too also came against Palace (away where we won 1-0). He made some decent saves that day and Palace could have come away with more there. -
everton now a goal down. i so hope they go down.
-
this made me laugh haha.
-
cant say I blame the ref for blowing the whistle 20 seconds earlier. would not have scored if we played on all night.
-
after Romeu's comments can't help but feel it truly is Pellegrino who is failing. Shocking substitutes, unable to get Tadic back to the quality we've seen, and seem woefully inept attacking. Granted, Redmond is crap, but Redmond has had better days under Puel than this season. PPG with Puel was 1.211, with Pellegrino as it stands is 1.182 with a far easier fixture list.

god lets just start yoshida up front every week.

'such a negative response. needs more balance.'
