  1. Hey guys Wheres the best away pubs near the Hawthorns or in town for today?
  2. I agree with this, plus the snippets always give us something to talk about. I'd rather a fake ITK than a wind up merchant.
  3. Surely they can arrange for duplicates to be picked up at the Hawthorns using ID as authorisation?!?!
  4. Then we should have just taken on the whole allocation and make their ground look a bit empty, give us the best chance of support too. It is only an extra £40,000- peanuts in football.
  5. I don’t think it was driven by desperation and cheapness- I think Les was so far up his a*se he wanted to bring an unknown quantity like we did with Pochettino. I mean, think of the credit Les would have got had Pellegrino been amazing- and I think it is in this hope Reed is not firing Pellegrino, his arrogance can’t allow him to admit he got this appointment wrong and like all of us, is just hoping this guy will swing it around. and to answer OP’s question- Leicester game- we had very winnable games in Huddersfield and Palace at home- got 1 out of 6.
  6. I’ve been to 6 away games including cups, seen 2 wins. Fingers crossed that Saturday is my third win

    Quincy Promes

how ironic that Spartak are not selling because they do not have a replacement lined up? Why do we not employ these same tactics instead of always buying after we sell?
  8. naah- if anything it softens the blow (very marginally!) There must certainly be ppl on here who have placed money on us to go down (with good odds to boot if you did it a month or two ago!)
  9. Owing to the importance of the game, think it is our most important one this season- unless we get to an FA Cup Final or something- this one will define the rest of the season- therefore, I've placed a £100 bet on Brighton to win or draw (double chance). Basically tempting the football gods by saying, please can we win for £100! Come on Saints- make me lose my money pls.
  10. Debateable, still think if he never had that injury he too would have looked for a big move- his dad was quite a character though!
  11. Thinking about it now though- imagine if Pellegrino masters us to an FA Cup win- I mean I guess he did take Alaves to the final last season in the Spanish equivalent.
  12. [for some reason posted twice]
  13. hoping for some fixing like the good old Carabao cup- quarter finals had none of the top 4 teams left playing each other with the draw not made on air I want Birmingham or Coventry away because I have never been to either stadiums and in reality we should beat both teams on paper. failing that, then yes Hull at home be nice to see Adkins at SMS in the dug out.
  14. Don’t do drugs kids
  15. Well referees say nowt as it is and are almost basically unaccountable for their actions- they never get interviewed after games, and for sure they won't be telling their thoughts at the time to millions on tv! I think to speed up the process, we shouldn't have had Pawson go up to the TV to take a look, just let Marriner (the ref watching the game somewhere in London) decide it there and then.
  16. Barry was offside but wasn't in way of cross at all- think goal being chalked off was fair but Barry certainly didn't impede on the keeper the way you have seen in other corner situations- so could be tad harsh- so even if he was offside it isn't like he flicked it on or anything. as for Salah's pen- he was getting nowhere near that cross, and you see far worse shoves and tackles week in that aren't given. Ultimately, if we are to be consistent and give that a pen, then really we should be seeing 2/3 penalties every fixture. Look, I think the VAR is a needed concept in football- certainly would have helped us 2 weeks ago against Watford away, but wish there was a better way of integrating it- waiting 3 minutes for a decision doesn't have the same spark it does in tennis and cricket for me.
  17. yes you are right. why the f**k am i happy with this result. hope we lose every game then i will be happy
  18. Did not watch the full 90- only read whatever was posted here. but I am a results guy- so if we won 1-0 despite being dominated towards the end, whilst it matters a little bit, the result means so much more- obviously we would all like comfortable wins every week but ngl if watford really did miss a header towards the end then we deserve to ride our luck a bit there. Will gladly take a 1-0 win like todays against brighton and other subsequent fixtures. Into the next round- gonna hope for Coventry away.
  19. Wow strong team then- expected Ryan and Hoedt to be rested- but maybe Pellegrino is right here- if big players can play league games and champions league games all consecutively- why shouldn’t ours? Come on you reds!
  20. yep. but i will support him and give him the time he needs to get used to PL football. just hope that our fans don't boo him the way Pelle was booed after a 0-0 vs WBA back in 2014/15.
  21. Well the final was their FOURTH trip to Wembley in less than the space of 12 months- that was ours since 2010, and a first major final since 2003! (FA Cup Semi-final + Final 2016) + (Community Shield 2016) + (League Cup Final 2017) Regardless, was lucky to be there for that goal at Anfield, probably best atmosphere of all last season after the final-and Long's goal is far more dramatic with Titanic music in the background
  22. rates 74 actually! even Shane Long is a 76! and manolo gabbiadini a 79. (tongue firmly in cheek btw- think it is stupid to use video games to gauge a players ability)
  23. not excited for this as a record signing, but guess inflation/desperation on our side has lead to Carrillo coming to us as a record fee. certainly doesn't have the pedigree that Lemina had when he came to us. regardless, I won't write him off until I see the bloke play for us, but based on initial readings he doesn't strike me as the bloke who will score say at least 12 PL goals a season- hope to be proven wrong and Les knows what he is doing!
  24. Mccarthy Pied Stephens Yoshida McQueen Davis Lemina Sims Boufal Redmond Gabbiadini Bench: Forster, Cedric, Hoedt, PEH, JWP, Tadic, Olafemi I would go for this
