I think we should play a 4411 formation. McCarthy Pied Stephens Hoedt Bertrand Sims Lemina PEH Tadic Manolo Carrilo Bench: Forster, Bednarek, Romeu, JWP, Redmond, Boufal, Long I'd like to see Cedric dropped truthfully, he knows his position is confirmed almost and plays like that too- someone who can get away with it. Well he can't. So unless Pied is injured, play Pied. Also, keep Cedric in Southampton- he don't make my bench either, rather have an attacking option than him. CB pairings- well Yoshida is out and Bednarek is not PL level. so that is that Bertrand- same goes for him, but without him we have no captain material and well, today's crap performance was a one off from him because he has done well recently. Lemina and PEH to play centrally for me, more mobile which is what I'd like for this away game. Sims and Tadic down the wings, could say Boufal or Redmond in place of Tadic but keep them as an option off the bench with tiring legs. Manolo as our CF/Second Striker, offering support to Carrillo's knockdowns/hold-up play* *well he is sh*t striker and in truth I'm only playing him because Austin ain't fit and by persisting with the bloke, I still live with the hope that the £19m can be fulfilled

after watching some horrific long shot attempts today that were skyed so woefully over the bar, makes me think Lemina's was a fluke at WBA- and honestly, it has well and truly made me think how flukey nearly all our wins in the league have been. WHU- 10 men, and 2 penalties inc. one in the 90th minute which may have been harsh. CPFC- Roy's first game and even then they had chances where they could have scored. WBA (h)- Boufal magic but he ain't ever replicating that this season EVE- okay we deserved a win here 100%. but how often will we play a team managed by Unsworth and a club in disarray like that at the time? WBA (a)- well... Lemina's shot might be a one off rather than something that will test the keeper again. and there we have it. 5 WHOLE WINS in the PL. truly pathetic. We managed 12 last season. I don't think we will get to even 7 wins. I can't wait for this season to be over.

Simple- draws feel like wins, 9 draws is 9 points, but with the added bonus of getting that feeling of a win
-
Hey- MP said draws are win!
-
Lol my commentator just said ‘Barclays Premier League’ Anyway- come on Saints three pts now and I will be far more comfortable
-
me- defeat and we are as good as gone. just hope the players are committed to the cause today
-
crouch on the bench... we all know how this will end
-
well second worst home team vs worst away team right iirc! gonna predict a 2-2 similar to the one we had with Pochettino- the one at SMS where Lambert scored a free kick and Davis scored before Odemwingie somehow got them 2 back.
-
Club refunding season ticket holders who cannot attend game by offering credit that goes towards next seasons season ticket. Safe journey to everyone going- the importance of winning today cannot be stressed enough- true 6 pointer
-
I love the DRS system in cricket- especially at the games in some ODIS where you can actually here the TV Umpire before hearing an out or not out! Same applies in tennis- in fact the only time the atmosphere is raised in tennis is when review is being used. As for VAR in football- still a good concept but they need to stop doing it for every moment, and it should be the TV ref watching the game who prompts it- not the ref on the pitch- and again shoild only be with clearcut decisions- so not something like Mata’s ruled out goal the other week.
-
Lol no that is the generic time that is placed on everyones fixture list. Moving on...
-
having looked at full fixture list sorted for tv- really think they should have shown a couple more of the 6 pointers between teams in the bottom half of the table over the 'race for Champions League', with the title all but sorted. you'd say in the relegation battle- if WBA are basically confirmed down, then there are 9 teams who can take the last 2 spots, yet with CL qualification there is only 4 teams who can take the last 3 spots. then again i guess its all about the views!

I'd rather have Tadanari Lee

FA Cup Qtr Final Saints v Wigan or Man City AWAy
nta786 replied to John Boy Saint's topic in The Saints
but the marathon will go on until 12:30ish. surely has an impact? -
terrible to think we did not beat any of those teams at home. add palace and newcastle home games to the equation too.
-
unfortunately not sure how many of you did that relegation prediction thing a while back that was posted on here- but for anyone who thinks we will stay up i'm fairly certain we all would have had this Stoke game as a win! and again, after the prediction thing was complete I am certain that for those who had Saints staying up- it was not comfortable and had us finishing maybe a point above 17th. Therefore, if we do want to stay up, we will have to win this and if we don't, then I certainly would not bank on us beating a top 6 club! (as Heisenburg so aptly mentions- haven't beaten a top 6 team since Spurs in May 2016!
-
yeah should do! watfords first goal also springs to mind (the 2-2 away game with the handball). like our defenders are on custard or just don't have the instinct that attackers possess.
-
probably because it is now silly season and there will be more unpredictable results ahead from teams around us. granted, maybe 4 wins won't be needed, but I do think 10/11 points will- which would need us still seeing 3 wins and a couple draws.
-
I think we rejected Pellegrini, but Rudi Garcia rejected us (or put himself out of the running!)- could be wrong!
-
nah, we fans kicked him out of his job anyway. we all refused to buy season tickets- remember! (Just thought we could debate that once more too ;))
-
just a massive coincidence! anyhow, Martin Tyler at kick-off: 'VAR is in use today, which certainly would have helped when Southampton had a goal wrongly disallowed in last years edition' yep- could have had a trophy and a European campaign this season..
-
that's why it is funny when no one thinks it us who could go down bar ourselves! all my mates who support other teams still think we will comfortably stay up- even though we have only 1 win in our last 15 PL games! no one really knows the context of why we are where we are.
-
yeah I see Gabbi more of a centre forward, second/support striker, a false 9 rather than a full on striker.

yeah- November, 4-1 against Everton! Before that, WBA in October and an WHU win in August!
