If Redmond finishes that 1 on 1 If JWP had squared it when he was near on through with a 1 on 1 If Bertrand's header wasn't cleared off the line I think had Redmond's shot gone in then game would have opened up for us more, Huddersfield played positive football which is credit to them. McCarthy Cedric Yoshida Stephens Mcqueen JWP Romeu Hojberg Boufal Long Austin The above could be played in a 4231 variant too, with Long on the wing instead, alongside Boufal and JWP and behind Austin. The reason for the above is that why play a completely different second team, we need to build some understanding and consistency, and also it is unfortunate for the substitutes to do well and then in the latter stages of the competition to be forgotten about should they get there. Cedric needs minutes as hes only played in 3 games in total so far (inc preseason), McCarthy just so we fans can see whether he is genuine competition for Forster/plus gives him that match situation. Bertrand can be only one rested for me. Clasie is apparently on his way out so give PEH those minutes + Romeu is invaluable for us and doesn't need rest given we have no Europa League this summer.

Well tbf if I took my Saints spectacles off then I would not. As a Saints fan who sees him regularly I think he is worth £70m. If I supported a top 6 club and I only saw VVD in those games then I'd probably think hes worth £40m (not that he had bad games against top 6 teams, but our record against them was poor and not like he set world alight every time). Remember, anything above 50 is a world record transfer fee for a centreback and defender. £65m+ is heavy money.
