I hope your right, just worried about the back line with Targett in the middle. At least Austin is getting a start and we are hopefully playing 4-4-2.

Back to your original comments, I feel dissapointed that after so many great seasons of late it seems that we have thrown the towel in with respect to pushing on. I understand if the current owner doesn't want to compete with the big boys financially, this club is not her dream, it was her fathers, but it does beg the question "What's the point?". A successful business in her eyes probably differs from ours, making a profit and not losing money is probably her priority whereas we want success on the pitch and entertaining football. Unfortunately, the sad thing is that most clubs outside of the top 6 will probably have the same issues and again begs the question "Whats the point?".

For me the Europa League is the defining moment for Puel, I am holding out the vague hope that his persistence with this diamond formation is because he feels it will work better against European clubs. There were signs it was starting to work against Arsenal but the fact is our front line will still be impotent whoever we play without a rejig of the formation. So basically scrub what I initially said as it is complete hogwash..............Coat anyone?.

Went to the game today and have mixed feelings about the game. I thought our possession and passing was neat and crisp but wirh no real product at the end of it. I would give Romeu motm, thought he was solid in midfield. I also thought Rodriguez was playing ok and I'm not too sure why he was subbed at ht. The penalty was an absolutute feckin traversty, despite the fact that that it was a soft foul I noticed before that tackle that Forster was trying to get the attention of the ref to make him aware that an Arsenal player had a head injury and I presume he thought that play had stopped, perhaps watching the highlights on Motd might shed more light on it but I was almost pitch level in the Arsenal end and thats how it looked to me. I was under the impression that the play should be immediately stopped if there is an obvious head injury, obviously most of the saints players were expecting that but Arse and the ref didn't or so it seemed. Two worrying things are, 1. No good pussyfooting the ball about if it does not go in the net at the end of it or at least close, this combined with a total lack of fire power up front is a big concern. I would rather see route one football if it produces results to be honest. 2. Virgil and Fonte spent a lot of time bickering with eachother and their body language looked like they were both highly p*ssed off. Not sure what that was about but not too clever if both your central defenders are unhappy. Oh and JWP as a game changing sub.................please!. On a positive, we did'nt get tonked as I expected and for most part held our own, whether or not that means we are improving or Arsenal are just pants I dont know.

Perhaps plan a visit to a bed store after today?
