Probably correct, and it's an interesting insight. But, it's also embarrassing and cringeworthy. This isn't Sunday league, players' dad's and brother's mouthing off because their boy isn't happy. Think there's some growing up to do in the Rodriguez household.

Probably the safest purchase we've made in recent years, a young English attacker who the 'setup' love for 12mil (I think?) was always going to turn into a profit. Hugely frustrating at times, and way too ponderous way too often, but at his best brilliant. I'm happy he's ours.

'cluster****' to you. So far this summer we haven't sold any players, have seemingly actively tried to retain our best player for once, and looks like we might be getting rid of the manager that all the moaning fans want gone, I don't see what's been so bad? The first summer, when we lost Poch, I was concerned, but every summer since has been controlled in my opinion.

We'd probably have a 29 year old Adam Lallana, 35 year old Rickie Lambert, 33 year old Jose Fonte all needing to soon be replaced with no money to do it with. We'd also probably not have got to see Sadio Mane and the Premier League's fastest ever hat trick, or see us beat a team 8-0, or get to see two of the best CB's the Premier League has seen in recent years (in my opinion) in Toby Alderweireld and Virgil Van Dijk. There's a lot of things going round saying 'imagine if Southampton hadn't have sold all their players' but most of the great players we've seen, and have been lucky to see in recent years, only came here because we sold their predecessor.

Can we get this pinned to the top of the forum or something?

a 'striker' who joined in January 2016 denying rumours about Charlie Austin...

How long does he have left on his contract? Bertrand was exactly what we needed when we signed him, and I was completely underwhelmed when he was Shaw's replacement but I couldn't have been more wrong, he's been fantastic. If he goes i'll wish him well, he's certainly earned a crack at the big time and for me is far superior to Danny Rose as a defender.

Schneiderlin got a compilation video from the club ffs, no clouds in sight. Act like a ****, get treated like a **** seems to be the general tactic of the club.

For me Mane hasn't improved at Liverpool, he's as good as he was here. Was vastly underrated by some here, his quality is reflected by how much we've struggled for goals this season. He's a game changer and match winner on his own, still adamant he'll be one of the top players in world football one day. He's still only 23.

I reckon all the other clubs in the Prem would be rolling out the red carpet for us next season if we manage to force a Liverpool transfer ban. This is just a fantastic turn of events.

Reading their forum is nauseating and their suggestions that they should give us Sakho to keep us happy is hurting my eyes. They think their unwanted centre half who has severed ties beyond repair and who recently did his knee ligaments (presumably out for the best part of 8 months?) is worth £30 MILLION!!!! Incredible.
-
Yeah i'm not convinced he's going to stay at all. But I feel like i'll be slightly less gutted if he goes, after today, because we look to have ****ed over those horrible bastards in the process. If they get a year's transfer ban i'll be absolutely over the moon, but I think given the Premier League's love of Liverpool, it probably wouldn't happen.

Probably small time but anyone else ****ing buzzing that this has happened?

I can't lie i'd only ever heard of Schmidt on here, but i'd love Tuchel, so much so that I can't believe there's any chance of it happening. But if we kept Virg, and added a new first choice CB (i'm a big fan of Yoshida and Stephens, but there is definitely room for improvement), then i'm not sure i'd be too scared about being 'too open' as with Romeu in from our defence would be good enough to cope.

Alonso has been good for Chelsea this year, but since Chelsea are a club that usually have two great players for every position and since Conte's formation change that hasn't been the case. Now they're in the Champions League, great back up is going to be vital, and I think Bertrand would push Alonso into being that great back up in the wing back role. Would make sense if they came in for him.
-
Not gonna lie I wouldn't care if he got the Pompey badge tattooed on his back if he meant he stuck around a bit longer, he'll have no making up to do the bloke's ****ing superb.

Must be really difficult to have been playing Championship/League 1 as a youngster and probably think you've made it, and then just slip away. Am I right in recalling that he scored our first goal of our 'new era'? Home to Millwall?

Stones set the bar for defenders this season, and he's **** (even accounting for the being English bit) and despite what the media like to tell us, in my opinion, he will never be a top centre half, he will never dominate a centre forward like Virg can (i know that's not everything). So £50mil shouldn't get you Van Dijk. If we don't sell him this summer, City etc will have to get someone else, and he'll probably be better than Stones so he'll probably cost around £60mil, but he probably won't be as good as Virg. So, next summer, the bar will have been set at whatever this new defender costs, and Virg will be worth even more (providing he doesn't get injured). Keep him, for **** sake.

Is this... is this happening?

Recently switched to 5Live during the coverage of the Manchester attack and have decided to remain there, choosing to listen to non-football discussion over TalkSport because it's that bad
