  1. Just a couple other random football accounts too. Doing my head in seeing all these scouse prats saying 'everybody wins' if VVD goes their way and we get Sakho. In what universe do we win?
  2. Few on Twitter reckon we're leading the race for Sakho. Annoyingly the assumption that follows is that we'll be happy to send VVD the other way if we get Sakho. Liverpool fans also seem to value Sakho at £30-£40mil , mental. A centre half who's played hardly any football in the last 2 years (although was very good at Palace), presumably doesn't have that much longer left on his contract, has a long term knee injury and has damaged relations with the club beyond repair. If we pay anything above £20million I despair.
  3. Would Southgate be good enough for us too? Plenty of failed Premier League manager's go onto International management. Martinez was a fraud before he went to Everton never understood how he had such a good reputation as he took a Wigan side that had just had its record Premier League finish under Steve Bruce, to constant relegation candidates until finally taking them down. Definitely would not be good for us.
  4. Everton didn't spend any money other than what they got for Stones last year. Theyre spending money at the moment but it's more than likely it's the Lukaku money in advance. But they're yet to replace the 20 goal striker that separates them from us. So i'll wait until the season starts to go all 'why aren't we like Everton?' because at the moment they're behaving just like we do.
  5. Think cigarettes were the least of Mutu's worries!
  6. Yeah I assumed it would've been released around 9/10am, weird that it's gone quiet
  7. Thanks!
  8. He essentially has ruled out a move to the Premier League then, for this season at least. Klopp, Mourinho, Pochettino, Guardiola, Conte's jobs are about as secure as is possible in football.
  9. I couldn't find the market on Betfair, I was trying to look after your last post, could you possibly provide a link please?
  10. Delph was the token Englishman for City, like Rodwell and Sinclair, he's not a great player, he just runs about a lot and puts in a lot of hard tackles. We could sign a foreign guy to do just that for about £5mil with no English premium. Smalling had the media on side in the 2015/2016 season for some reason, but he's awful as was displayed at the Euro's. Jose knows this too and would rather play a mismatch back four than play Smalling unless he was absolutely forced to. Just because a player plays for Man United, doesn't mean he is good.
  11. If he genuinely is not interested, then the club would've known this before 5 minutes ago (if they were interested in him). There's no way we've waited 'til a month after the season ends to sack Puel without knowing who his replacement will be if everything goes to plan.
  12. He hasn't, 'Sky sources' say he has. Whenever they don't put a name to their 'sources' it's normally because it's word of mouth. I don't see why he would want to come to us, he is destined for bigger, but 'Sky sources' mean nothing these days.
  13. Without wanting to sound blinded, and noting that i've never been confident Tuchel would be interested in us, i'm loathe to live by 'sky sources' anymore. Until the club or the individual (in this case Tuchel) say it, then I don't believe it.
  14. Given that our last three 'big' CB signings have been Lovren, Alderweireld and Van Dijk, i'd be very disappointed if we signed Smalling. He really isn't very good and gets away with constant shirt pulling that would get penalised if he played for us. No thanks, clumsy.
  15. I miss K.Billy and Guan
  16. Probably correct, and it's an interesting insight. But, it's also embarrassing and cringeworthy. This isn't Sunday league, players' dad's and brother's mouthing off because their boy isn't happy. Think there's some growing up to do in the Rodriguez household.
  17. Nagelsmann?
  18. Probably the safest purchase we've made in recent years, a young English attacker who the 'setup' love for 12mil (I think?) was always going to turn into a profit. Hugely frustrating at times, and way too ponderous way too often, but at his best brilliant. I'm happy he's ours.
  19. 'cluster****' to you. So far this summer we haven't sold any players, have seemingly actively tried to retain our best player for once, and looks like we might be getting rid of the manager that all the moaning fans want gone, I don't see what's been so bad? The first summer, when we lost Poch, I was concerned, but every summer since has been controlled in my opinion.
  20. We'd probably have a 29 year old Adam Lallana, 35 year old Rickie Lambert, 33 year old Jose Fonte all needing to soon be replaced with no money to do it with. We'd also probably not have got to see Sadio Mane and the Premier League's fastest ever hat trick, or see us beat a team 8-0, or get to see two of the best CB's the Premier League has seen in recent years (in my opinion) in Toby Alderweireld and Virgil Van Dijk. There's a lot of things going round saying 'imagine if Southampton hadn't have sold all their players' but most of the great players we've seen, and have been lucky to see in recent years, only came here because we sold their predecessor.
  21. Can we get this pinned to the top of the forum or something?
  22. a 'striker' who joined in January 2016 denying rumours about Charlie Austin...
  23. How long does he have left on his contract? Bertrand was exactly what we needed when we signed him, and I was completely underwhelmed when he was Shaw's replacement but I couldn't have been more wrong, he's been fantastic. If he goes i'll wish him well, he's certainly earned a crack at the big time and for me is far superior to Danny Rose as a defender.
  24. Schneiderlin got a compilation video from the club ffs, no clouds in sight. Act like a ****, get treated like a **** seems to be the general tactic of the club.
