  1. Yes, Fonte could have shot himself in the foot with his transfer to West Ham. We have seen a few of those leave Southampton and although not openly show regret, pretty sure they must have been disappointed overall.
  2. Probably before the window closes?
  3. Catalan is quite difficult. The Basques are near impossible to understand. We would have thought though that Coutinho would probably understand both languages easier than Scouse. Did he play for Espanyol before or after Pottechino was sacked? As for Aldridge you couldn't make it up really you couldn't.
  4. The club have said he is not for sale as he is under contract until 2022. Ummmmm. We want a definitive win tomorrow please Saints.
  5. I agree, what a player. We had a bloody fantastic defence in those days
  6. Sorry this wasn't inserted first of all
  7. Yes, he is definitely still on holiday after the Cup run for Portugal.
  8. How do we know that Chelsea etc are not interested? Media sources have intimated that others might be interested?
  9. What is the take on this regarding strike action by a player? Do they get paid? In the normal world you don't. These people have big egos that need knocking down. It is not illegal to strike, down tools, money stops immediately. Love Matt Le Tissier comment re Coutinho big move to Barca.
  10. God luck to Jay Rod, hope he doesn't come back to bite us on the arse!
  11. Yes he is one of the best however, he will be small cog in a big wheel of spending and maybe someone just to keep up their quota of Brits. If, a player from abroad comes in to CIty who the manager prefers and they can afford easily he will be pushed back again. I can think of another explayer who is a small cog. Yes he has been injured, but so was Jay. Do you think Utd will give him more opportunity to prove himself or shift him on as they did with Schniedelin? They all think they go to better teams but they have to be outstanding as these big teams can afford to shop in more expensive stores. Really like the Waitrose egg scenario.
  12. And sit on the bench...again and again and again just like he did at Chelsea let's face it he will again be a small dog in a big wheel
  13. Have to agree with almost everyone on here. Mourinho has come over as a raving bully. He doesn't nurture and never has. Agents with all their greed pumping up young minds and filling them and their family with promises of a great future and money. Most players would rather have a game than sit in the bench or even worse behind the scenes. Bertrand is proof of this. Shaw, his family and advisors were foolish. Too much too soon. Time to man up and get out.
  14. He made a huge mistake, I am positive he must know that.
  15. You have to agree with HK Saint and Doddisalegend. Shaw had too much too soon and is now being slated by his Manager. Looks like his eating habits are a matter of discussion as well as his lack of commitment. Shame, he did so well at Saints but they get pushed by their agents etc and I am sure their minds are turned by "the big club" etc. Bertrand is an example of been there done that and moved to a club that will give me a game and get me in the England team. It's a shame the rest of them can't see that.
  16. I have to agree with you on this one. He was a favourite and our Captain. He was naieve to say the least and especially at his age probably wrongly informed.
  17. Interesting, yes, some of the students come from private language schools but most are from the HE sector which is universities. FE is further education which are the old Technical colleges/agricultural colleges. Although a portion of overseas would go to Tech colleges most would go to Universities. In Hampshire during the early 80's there were an influx from Iraq and Iran whether it was to Tech or the college of nautical studies. Families used this so that their sons didn't have to fight in the war between each other. Fees were charged but of course they could not recourse to public funds. They were issued with cards and had to report every so often. As time progressed Universities saw this as a real money earner. No one has commented about WFTC introduced but the labour government in 2005 which has not been able to be quashed which would see the end of cheap labour.
  18. By not implementing the restrictions the UK invited the surge of migration. They could have avoided the surge and the enormous bad press that accompanied it if they so chose. If the UK abolished Working Family Tax credits as the conservatives had wanted to some couple of years back, there would be a flood leaving. This benefit supports big business keeping their wages on minimum to be supported by the tax payer whilst escaping paying tax themselves. British farming however would suffer as they pay minimum wage and perhaps a scheme would need to be devised to combat this. Perhaps overseas students have now seen how devalued the UK degree has become. The UK needs to up its exam process to that of the 50's, 60's and 70's before they made it easier to pass O and A levels. Simply the scheme of the 90's is failing and this may now show as to why overseas students do not value U.K. Education anymore. For me, it was when they made Polytechnics into Universities. Fourth class degrees that are meaningless.
  19. They can't pay, they never will. Their only way is out. Italy next.
  20. Thanks for calling me thick. Have you ever lived outside the UK? Do you know what it's like to live in a country that is under the cosh of the EU? Usual codswallop from a bitter remainer. There would have been no discussion forward if the country had voted remain. The EU do as they wish what is there to discuss. The British do as they are told introduce the laws whilst the rest bin them if they do not like them. Call me thick, I say you to you carry on with the rest of the chattering classes after all education or no education the UK is leaving.
  21. This thread will go into meltdown WHEN Article 50 is triggered. If the UK had voted remain this thread would never have existed it would have been carry on as normal. Remainers, please can I have next weeks lottery numbers. Thank you.

  23. Nelson Semedo is at Benfica not Sporting Lisboa
