  1. Since losing the satellite some 2-3years ago, we rely on one for even the basics. Our internet connection gives us between 2-5 mbs (you did read correctly) c**p. I have sportsdevil for matches, but, this no longer works. Can anyone give me any ideas?
  2. Excuse the spelling go by this pronunciation Cas Aires There is a town in Spain with the same name between Seville and Salamanca
  3. Anyway, we digress.......Sr Caceres any further info? Is his Ferrari a cut and shut now? Is he still a drinking? We don't have a lot of luck with South Americans ....
  4. Well, in that case, is there a breakdown of communication or is someone not listening to others at the club because as others have said, letting Fonte go was a disaster. I am biast and always have been, to me, Fonte held together our defence quietly for many years. Liverpool took Lovren quoting that Lovren organised our defence which was incorrect. If Saints sold Fonte to make a few bob, this could be the few bob too far.
  5. In all honesty does anyone think the club realised the severity of VVD's injury when they were selling Fonte?
  6. Watched the game live from here in Portugal. Felt like watching around Christmas time the year we were relegated from the Prem, as I recall it was against boring Borough. Bedwetter yes definitely....don't care, just really disappointed with what is happening at St Mary's.
  7. I have to say that Carvalho was awful in the early games for Portugal in 2016. We really thought portugal would not progress. We were shouting at the tv "bring on Fonte" we knew his organisational skills would prove useful and once he was bought in proved right. I for one was gutted that we didn't keep him. It's now proved to be a right old cock up one of which will keep the fans on the edge of their seats for the rest of the season. EIther that, or we may lose the will to live.

  9. 2H2 hours ago Leonardo Vivard @LeonardoVivard Gabbiadini, the agent confirms to @kisskissnapoli "It 'made for transfer to Southampton, it only awaits the official Has anyone see this off Manolo owns twitter account?
  10. Good luck to Jose Fonte. I would have preferred he finished his career at Saints but it was not to be. The Portuguese are pretty loyal people and I think Jose has been this. I am sure he was genuinely excited, pleased etc to be in the team that won the Euros. The country was very excited to win and at least lifted the country from the drudgery of life with extreme difficulties at the moment. Ronaldos reaction from the touch line showed the excitement. No one should be bitter about his leaving, he has been a fantastic servant. Something happened and it's no good second guessing, it's a closed sport, no one disses the Club, Manager etc without a backlash.
  11. Eder (if i recall correct scored the winner) and Ricardo Carvalho also won the European Championships and they wouldn't get anywhere near our first team Eder did indeed score the winner. CArvalho now 39/40 was a donkey, once remove and replaced by Fonte the defence improved dramatically and so did Pepe who was also useless prior to the Fonte replacement.
  12. I just hope he doesn't side step to West Ham or downgrade to Palace. Unfortunately, I think his management are to blame for this. I think they are greedy schiesters. Fonte and his family were settled in Hampshire, son at school etc now a sideward move would not be good. It's no good being led by greed, I really didn't think Fonte was that way inclined being a loyal servant for the club, but maybe I am an idealist.
  13. You are so right Derry and if no one sees that after the Christmas of failure 2016, a lot of white sticks are required. It's not all about the money, it's pride as well and so what if he has felt pride and passion playing for Southampton. I think he has been loyal. He's 33, so what, some of the Portuguese defence in 2016 euros were 39+ admittedly, they didn't play well. Jose Fonte turned the Portugal defence around in the euros. Prior to the Euros not many Portuguese had heard of JF as he didn't play for the big clubs, they have now though.
  14. Totally agree with you. However, I think as the family are settled with their life and schools, he would prefer to stay. Also, he may like to go into coaching and maybe through Saints?
  15. Sorry Cartman, there is no law in Portugal regarding this, individuals set price. Check as I said for example Rui Fonte, zero whereas Sporting are setting a high price for Semedo. Incidentally, he looks like he has a low tolerance level.
  16. On 1 September 2016, Fonte signed a three-year contract with Braga .....no release clause for Rui. Only ridiculously high for the greedy clubs not law just greed as was that with Rojo, his agent and SPorting
  17. No we have not, the EU will in turn have to pay to trade with the UK a country of 60million. The press in the U.K. Keep forgetting to mention this fact so, it works both ways. The Germans have gone very quiet on this subject whereas the French are vocal and doing their usual foot stomping. The French have elections next year and by the looks of France and the French themselves, they have had enough as well of their weak President.
  18. Jose Fonte has a long way to go yet. During the early stages of the euros when Portugal looked lousy over here we were screaming for Fernando Santos the manager to take off Ricardo Carvalho and put on Jose Fonte. Eventually he did just this and soon enough the defence was reorganised and the rest is history. Carvalho is 39 years old. Fonte is fit and extremely loyal to Southampton. I can understand he would want a renewed contract and hopefully go into management. He is a wonderful ambassador for Southampton and Portugal. It was one of the reasons Cedric came to us.
  19. Italy are stoney broke. The people can vote against ridding themselves of their upper house but they are still broke so ANOTHER election is due. All these Southern European countries are broke and need propping up. Italy is just about to fall like the house of cards they cannot afford to be in the rich mans club. Too many people arguing over access to the single market, what about access in return to 60m people in the U.K. Oh....the press forgot to mention that.
  20. Absolutely agree. Don't rip him apart for this game. Onward and upward, We march on.
  21. Dean Redford and Jamie Webb sorry didn't put names in previous post.
  22. Made the BBC 10 o'clock news this evening, SFC implicated.
  23. The worst is hyperinflation, mass unemployment, and a reliance on a bankrupt state to fund the growing demands on the welfare state and NHS, which will both collapse. This comment from page 50 sounds like the country I live in, Portugal. Portugal is virtually bankrupt. Portuguese who live here rely on money being sent from relatives who work abroad. The Portuguese rely on foreigners living here to spend their money keeping restaurant, small business etc alive. This is a cash economy to avoid paying tax. The councils are corrupt and I do mean corrupt not like in the U.K when if you are caught with your pants down, you resign, here you carry on. I could go on about handing monies over to corrupt government how and where it isn't spent and pocketed but I won't. Europe needs the UK more than Europe would care to admit. Europe are reeling that a net contributor is leaving, this could well trigger the end of the gravy train. I don't think the Spanish, Portuguese or Greeks will want to see us Brits sent home and they are three countries that have to agree with Brussels. The arguments could go on for years.
  24. Good luck today Saints, we will be watching over here in Portugal desperately hoping for 3 points.
  25. If your Mandarin is a little rusty, I prefer mine in alcohol! Seriously, could this all be the "Trump effect"?
