The problems began before SR trundled up. It was Semmens who started the policy of 'buy-to-sell'; the idea that buying promosing youth, proving their ability in the premiership and then selling on for a profit. Simple if it works. However, it ignores the need to buy players to build a team. It also ignores the need for young players to have experienced players to learn from. I've lost count of the number of highly experienced players, leaders, who have been available on free transfers that we've ignored. Yes their wages would be high, but the alternative is now plain to see. Now this buy to sell policy has got even worse now the SR clowns have bowled up. They are clearly way out of their depth with no obvious plan other than doubling down on their policy. A total root and branch reset is needed, but unless Dragan Solak gets involved, and their is no sign of that, we're screwed. Think of the bunch (who's name I forget) but who sniffed around us before buying Coventry City to see where we're heading under SR.

We're down. And the blame is not any particular manager, or any particular player, but on genuinely awful recruitment based on buying young and cheep to sell on for a profit, rather than buying players to build a team.
-
It's hard to care to be honest. Saints 0 Spurs ?

"Come see if this squad has found its level yet"
-
Players are not anywhere near good enough for the Premiership, many are not good enough for the Championship. Are recruitment department is the worse performing department in a club failing in every department.
-
A panic buy. Doesn't suit the way we play. Another £20m odd down the drain.
-
Exactly. It doesn't matter what combination you shuffle this pile of shïte laughably referred to as a squad, you're not going to get a functioning football team out of it.
-
The club is an utter embarrassment from board room to boot room.
-
Don't let the football spoil your day out at the football.
-
Lowe was useless but he didn't have th money that Rasmus Ankersen has at his disposal. You would hope Dragan Solak at some point is going to look closely at what Ankersen has done with his money and throw the Danish chancer overboard. Fingers crossed.
-
They are an utter shower of shít. Genuinely clueless. For success at Premiership level you need a coherent strategy of quality recruitment and retention of players, coaches, technical staff, statisticians etc etc. From appointing Jones, to dismantling our scouting network SR have proved themselves to be totally inept. Our only hope is Dragan Solak dumps Rasmus Ankersen and Semmens and gets someone in who knows hoe to run a football club.

Relegation - What two teams do we take with us
Morse replied to Lee On Solent Saint's topic in The Saints
It will be us, Bournemouth and Leeds. And unless there is a proper reset behind the scenes in coaching and player recruitment we're going to be staying down for some time. We are a shambles top to bottom. -
RED & WHITE STRIPES. ( I know that those in charge of making these sort of decisions know f-all about Saints history and care even less, but if they want to learn what RED & WHITE STRIPES look like perhaps they could google Mick Channon, or Ron Davies or Charlie Wayman or Eric Day etc) RED & WHITE STRIPES RED & WHITE STRIPES RED & WHITE STRIPES RED & WHITE STRIPES RED & WHITE STRIPES BTW, any numpty who's paid over hard-earned for this seasons abysmal kit should flog themselves with stinging nettles every day for the rest of the season in penance.

He certainly interviews well. But so do I and I'm an utter cūnt. He's got a lot of experience as a coach so there's no reason to believe he can't make a go of it. I'm looking forward to seeing the team he puts out tomorrow, please god no Bednarek.
-
I would imagine it won't be too long before Dragan Solak realises that Rasmus Ankersen is spunking his money up the wall and will step in and either clip his wings or throw his over board.
-
I'd be happy if it's only a short term appointment, because stay up or go down I cant see Marsch as the start of a long term project that brings success to St Mary's.
-
We're not going to get in a decent manager that is capable of taking us forward at this stage of the season given our league position. Any such manager would not want to blot their career record with a relegation however much money you throw at them. So we're left with experienced old campaigner, Aladyce etc, or recently sacked and struggling to find another berth, Lampard, Marsch etc. Or.. stick with temporary solution ie Selles, and have a proper re-boot top to bottom in the summer. Personally I prefer the last option.

Here we go again. Sport Republic is owned and controlled by Dragan Solak. According to companies House register, details of which have been posted in here, it is possible that Ramus Ankersen owns a tiny shareholding but if he does it has very little monetary value and just allows voting rights within the company. Voting rights which obviously can't challenge that of Dragans. If Dragan wants Rasmus out, Rasmus is out.
-
Marsch no. Bruce no. Alladyce no. Current Luton manager no. Anyone Rasmus has been tracking no. Any well dressed Spaniard yes.
-
My greatest fear is that our next manager will be someone Rasmus Ankersen has been tracking for 18 months.
-
With respect you're wrong. Sport Republic is 100% owned by Dragan Solak.
-
As Dragan is the money man he is the boss. Ankersen is nominated CEO, and I don't know the shareholding of each in SR, but I'm guessing the vast, vast majority is in Dragans name. If you put the money in why would it be any different. Thus if Dragan wants Ankersen out, Ankersen is out.

I think at the board meeting this morning, they have decided to 'price in' relegation. Once they made that not un-reasonable decision then the advantage of sacking Jones now becomes less urgent, they can take their time and find the right fit (again) meanwhile maybe, in their minds, Jones can turn it around.
