  1. might add Djed Spence (RB) to that. https://www.teamtalk.com/tottenham-hotspur/edge-closer-brilliant-new-right-back-signing-southampton-eye-loan-conte-fall-guy
  2. Ollie Watkins but, yeah, not a whole lot.
  3. all I see are positives... from looking at those game highlights.. 1) he passes the ball and then moves immediately into space. He is not standing there and admiring his pass. 2) two good defensive plays. that second one where he heads it away.. that might have been on target for the back of the net. i didnt recognize it at the time (more likely i was pacing for the last 10 minutes and didn't see the play altogether!) 3) He moved quickly into the open space and dribbled it 50 yards... his pass was a bit speculative, but i like the aggressiveness and forward thinking. 4) i like how he was positioned himself to pounce on JWPs shot if it came off the opposing GK on a semi-related note, on JWP's future free kicks, if the opposing team move a man or two to cover the posts, the offside trap is negated. it's free reign for any of our players to get in a position for a rebound off the keeper/post. (We got burned on that one last year while we were defending a free kick late in a game by none other than JWP himself.. cant remember the game)
  4. What is critically important with these 3 straight wins is NJ can point to the players during training and say “see, this is working”. The players will buy in, listen, and not tune him out. Everybody needs to be rowing in the same direction it is a cliche, but belief is a powerful thing in this league.
  5. Saints win. Liverpool lose. Life is good.
  6. Yep. We should be blaming Bazuna. Drives me crazy. that should be a stop for your average PL goalkeeper.
  7. Willy Caballero is 41. Could literally be his father. (well not literally, but you get the gist). Hopefully, they can develop a father-son type relationship.
  8. i need this high to continue... give us a striker please! i was so giddy after the win last night, that i realized i hadn't been like that after a Saints match in a long long time. People noticed.. they were like: you are in a good mood, whats up?!
  9. quite the winter welcome for Alcaraz! 27C and mostly sunny in Buenos Aires right now.
  10. Luton beat Blackpool back in November 0-1 under NJ's command. So some familarity there.
  11. his YouTube clips imply he is forward thinking in the middle of the pitch, but clips only show 99.5% of one's play. I am going to choose to keep a positive mindset, which only seems to occur during transfer windows lately when i look back over the last year. - On pitch performance, however, has created a different mindset altogether.
  12. this.. there have been calls and wild gesticulation for adding experienced players on this squad while complaining that all we have bought is a bunch of teenagers. Keane seem like the type of experienced veteran that everyone has been clamouring for.
  13. I sure hope so.. I have been thirsty for a Tadic type player since.. well, since Tadic.
  14. Nice. I think we all are desperately needing something to feel positive about. It might be fleeting, but nice nonetheless.
  15. If you were Tella would you want to come back? 16-8-2 and in 1st place, while contributing 8 goals, sounds like a fun time.
  16. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/premier-league/ cruising in 16th place.
  17. some managers can be beat 9-0 (twice) and still keep their job, so...
  18. hell, i am a bit surprised 538 still predicts a 16th place finish. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/premier-league/ what do they know that we dont?
  19. better than a loss. - likely no more cream puffs in this Cup run - might be an All-PL final 8.
  20. 9 of 25..but have only been a supporter for the last 10 seasons.
  21. excellent work! but Nathan Jones is 49, not 59. typo, i would assume.
  22. *** edit. Totally misread when this was originally posted, my apologies.
  23. Not sure we’ll ever now the full story (I think there was a bit of cold feet by Gakpo though), but what could have been. I want to believe the club had an agreement with the team and the player just decided at the 11th hour he wanted to stay. but yeah, that was our narrow window. He is Top 6(7) bound now. Got to believe we would be in the top half if he was on our side.
  24. Ha. So in an alternate universe, Harry Kane was a Saint for a year and a half before we sold him to Liverpool in 2015.
