  1. Nice that we have so many early summer signees and the cane be a part of pre-season camp Important to build relationships and everyone get to familiar with each other, so we don't have a bunch of strangers on the pitch for match 1.
  2. Minamino went for a bunch and he has played so few minutes in the PL. Not sure how proven he is. hell, Minamino had more PL minutes with us than with all his years combined at Liverpool. 717 v. 711 only 5 PL starts with Liverpool (9 with us)
  3. for everyone saying we need to find an attacking player that gives us 10-12 goals a year, here is your going rate.. Richarlison £50m Jesus £45m
  4. i think it is fair to say : Everton and Man U underachieved Brighton and Brentford overachieved and everybody else, for the most part, met expectations.
  5. Maybe expect better signings. 7 of our top 9 biggest signings ever are not currently on the team. 1. Ings £22.59m (19/20) 2. Vestergaard £22.50m (18/19) 3. Sadio Mané £20.70m (14/15) 4. Guido Carrillo £19.80m (17/18) 5. Sofiane Boufal £16.83m (16/17) 6. Mo Elyounoussi £16.20m (18/19) 7. Adam Armstrong £15.93m (21/22) 8. Mario Lemina £15.53m (17/18) 9. Manolo Gabbiadini £15.30m (16/17) for comparison.. Liverpool has 9 of their top 10 record signings still on their roster. and as far as record signings go for the 20 PL clubs, we rank 16th on record transfer fee amount with Ings (£22.59m) . Only these clubs have a lower record signing than Saints 17. Brighton £20.70m (4 of their top 5 signings are still on their roster) 18. Burney £15.21m 19. Brentford £14.13m (4 of their top 5 signings are still on their roster) 20. Norwich £9.90m 2 relegated, 1 finished 6 points better, 1 finished 11 points better
  6. How many balls has Stuart lost today?!!
  7. I am sure he will enjoy the 38C summers. but honestly, Austin is nice place.
  8. And you know, looking ahead… The newly promoted teams next year are not likely to be pushovers. Once again, another important summer brewing.
  9. Pointless evening? Pointless 5 years. For the last 5 seasons our average finish is: 15th place | 42 points Not easy being a Saint supporter. No joy. Very little joy.
  10. If anything it highlights the gaps between the haves and the havenots in the league. The prospect of a Southampton win Tuesday is nearly inconceivable. what is more insulting is everyone breathlessly expecting me to care which mega club that spends millions of pounds and has multiple trophy’s in their case wins the title next week.
  11. Would be nice if someone could this season. they have 9 lives.
  12. From Liverpool’s perspective, shrinking the gap in goal difference between them and City is still a thing. fortunately, they may be too gassed to make that push. (Maybe wishful thinking)
  13. i cant speak to the metrics, but... https://twitter.com/Jhdharrison1/status/1518907393987461123?cxt=HHwWhoCylcaOn5QqAAAA
  14. This is the nightmare scenario - Especially if Leeds gets 3 points from either Chelsea or Brighton.
  15. Last 10 matches….. 5 points (1W-2D-7L) -17 GD (GF 7|GA 24) averaging 0.7 goals for a game averaging 2.4 goals allowed a game embarassing
  16. I get what you are saying and l appreciate the positivity, but that is just it in’it? we are competing in a league where most clubs have £15m players that will never make their starting XI. We have three “competent” starters at £15m and while it may be “good business” it doesn’t exactly make for good football When you look at it, It’s no wonder we are finishing 15th. We do it on the cheap - barely. I know; it is what it is, but it’s frustrating.
  17. We were 9th in the live table at HT. 15th place at FT.
  18. Found the ball on his left foot. So never gonna happen.
  19. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/60572525 Everton have received an apology from the head of the professional referees body Mike Riley after they were denied a penalty in the 1-0 defeat by Manchester City on Saturday (Feb 26) A lot of people are going to look back on this match if City wins the League by a point (or 2) and Everton gets relegated by a point.
  20. where do you see more than 4 points?
  21. Not me. I want Everton to go down as much as the next guy, but a Liverpool quadruple would be the absolute worst. Can you imagine the insufferableness from Liverpool supporters?!! I will never root for Liverpool. Ever
  22. Jack Cork on.
  23. Safe to say our “new owners bump” is over
  24. We brings on Valary, Diallo, and Smallbone. Chelsea brings on James, Pulisic, and Ziyech. this league.
