A great twist to bring in the secret traitor but have they ditched the idea already with the secret traitor joining the regular two next week? Unless they plan to bring in a new secret traitor now? Very impressed with some of the Faithfuls so far. Early days still but some are right on the money.

Waiting For The Out. A new BBC drama series that kicked off last night. Only one in so far but brilliantly scripted and acted.

Another far right outfit to be concerned about. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/jan/04/leading-uk-far-right-activist-russian-nationalist-event-mark-collett

Yet you continue to swallow conspiracy theories and the lies the people you follow hook, line and sinker. Go figure?

I was living in SE London at the time and most of the kids in my class supported Palace so I used to get a lot of stick when we played each other. A few years on I ended up playing against the Palace right back in this game, John Sewell, in a Sunday morning park match when he was playing for an amateur team called Lessan. I thought he was rubbish at Palace but despite his advancing years and waistline, none of us laid a glove on him all game.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

A new year but the same old drivel from nutty nic. 🙄 -
It’s about the drugs not the oil eh Donnie? https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jan/03/us-oil-trump-venezuela Apparently Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Corina Machado doesn’t have the respect of the country and he suggests that she will not be leader. Of course not, Trump will put his puppet in place. For those who think it is a good idea to vote in Farage as the next PM, maybe think about the consequences a bit harder?

There was a poster called Old Ottery who used to post on Sotonians a while back. Can’t recall if he was OSM though. K, Billy’s supersound. A proper ITK back in the day.
-
Minty! I remember that he used to report back from the training sessions and got into trouble with the club because he “leaked” a particular routine (from a corner I think?).

That when older people talked about having to get up in the middle of the night to pee, they weren’t joking.

What a nightmare. You would like to think, in this day and age, that there would be stricter fire precautions in place. A young girl died in a house fire in the next village to us, Hamstreet, over Christmas. It is a relatively small community. My wife’s boss lives in the village and knows the next door neighbours well. They are devastated and that is one child. I can’t imagine how the deaths of 40 people affects a town. The house is a semi on a new estate. It is terrifying how quickly the fire burned through a new house.

Can NATO trust Trump and where does this leave the UN now that the USA have a power crazed idiot at the helm now showing not the slightest pretence of giving a feck about what any body else thinks? Still, not to worry, it’s only Trump Derangement Symptom apparently. 🤪 https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/jan/03/putin-russia-us-foreign-policy-venezuela

Ah yes, Ottery St Mary. He was a good poster. I also enjoyed View From The Top’s posts about cycling (although not a cycling enthusiast generally). I think he stopped posting after an accident?

Lurching to the intolerant left? This country’s Marxist government? Tax paying wealth creators? Their hero Maduro? The only intolerance I see here is of Trump’s ridiculous performance as the current POTUS and of those who support his policies for the UK. Anyone who thinks that this country has a Marxist government is clearly deluded. Tax paying wealth creators? You mean the people who employ accountants to ensure they pay as little tax as possible? I have not read one post where anyone has stated that Maduro is their hero. Trump is no better than Putin and Netanyahu. He has also just made life a lot more difficult for Taiwan. He is cowed by the bigger bullies and only picks fights with easy targets. I thought that the only reason we hadn’t heard from you in a while was because had finally realised that you had made yourself look foolish by your support for this dictatorial moron. Clearly not.

The biggest loss for me has to be Bearsy. A comedic genius and worth a fiver all on his own.

Even by your standards this is bizarre. Are you upset because the headline didn’t read “Woman Brutally Attacked By Man With Brown Skin?” It seems to me that the report is perfectly reasonable and there is zero attempt to cover anything up at all. You have to be a really desperate conspiracy theorist to claim otherwise. Please do better in 2026.

So the official broadcasting channel for Reform UK are also the propaganda channel for Donald Trump too now. No surprises there. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2025/dec/31/ofcom-urged-investigate-gb-news-interview-donald-trump-inaccuracy-claims

I have no idea why they brought him back. Possibly because he was available in the closed window, is a club legend and wanted to do a job for us whilst Charles was getting back to fitness. If their only motive was as a PR move to placate the fans, there are plenty who wanted him back but it was always likely to backfire if he showed that he isn’t up to it, which he hasn’t been so far.

When I was younger I also enjoyed the films of John Wayne and Sean Connery. I had no idea what their political views were and wasn’t bothered in them anyway. Years later I found out that Wayne was a far right activist and Connery was heavily involved with the Scottish nationalist movement. Did it mean that I enjoyed their films any less? No. Again Duckie you show that you are still stuck in the 70’s. As for “knocking one out” (how old you?) you have been doing so over Margaret Thatcher for fifty years, so probably not the barb you meant it to be given your taste in women eh?
-
I don’t think that anybody watching her films in the 50’s and 60’s were bothered about her views on anything. As a 15 year old kid I certainly wasn’t.

Brigitte Bardot has sadly passed away aged 91. Men of a certain age will remember her fondly. RIP BB https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c888rzkd0dzo?app-referrer=deep-link

Clough turned him into a great winger. Very sad news. Only 72. RIP https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/dec/25/john-robertson-nottingham-forest-and-scotland-legend-dies-aged-72

They haven’t climbed down though have they? They have just adjusted the level at which it kicks in. They haven’t ditched the bill. -
The last couple of years I have made my own chutney. Tomato, apple, courgettes, onion and sultanas. Schoolboy error. Mrs SOG does not like sultanas and picks them out and puts them on my plate. Happy with any crackers but Jacob’s Cream crackers are my favourite.
