  1. Plenty of people judging by the many negative reactions expressed by those unhappy at us putting out a B team. So what if it’s a clean slate? That team will not appear in any of the knock out matches. Rest a couple by all means but given all the talk about the importance of continuity (God knows there is another grief on here when managers keep tinkering with line ups) we have wasted an opportunity of giving most of the main players another 90 mins to help cement our game plans. And just think what it would have done for our confidence if we had won. Managers talk of building a winning mentality. You don’t do that by losing matches.
  2. Although the result wasn’t crucial, I don’t like putting out a weakened team. We were told we wanted to win this match, how do you say that with your best players on the bench?
  3. Dalek finally gets a prediction right. Batman finally gets something right. The Germans finish bottom of their qualifying group. It is the end of times I tell you!
  4. Rumours that we are sniffing around Angus Gunn so perhaps FF will be off?
  5. And you will still be slagging him off for club failures long after he is dead.
  6. As we all know from here, one fans opinion will differ wildly from another. Here’s a thought, if he signs let’s watch him play several times before we write him off as rubbish. I think the current going rate is 5 matches?
  7. I didn’t say it did. It is just that people with vagina are just as capable as commenting and commentating on football as men. What anyone has between their legs shouldn’t be an issue.
  8. Why should competence play a part in choosing women? It doesn’t appear to do so with many men.
  9. He is clearly lacking in any of the qualities that you would expect someone in public service to have, let alone as POTUS then! Not that this is news to anyone with a modicum of intelligence. Perhaps there should be some basic physiological tests you need to pass before you can stand for public office?
  10. I have googled it too and it appears that children weren’t allowed in jail but there wasn’t a policy to separate families under Obama and when it did happen the children were passed on to relatives. So a bit of a non starter really wasn’t it? So it is all down to Trump again.
  11. If you were curious then why not google it and find out for sure rather than throw it out on here? I guess it just helps to muddy the waters over the attacks on Trump eh?
  12. I read the other day that only 40% of Premiership transfers are deemed "successful." I say only but I guess as nothing is certain in life, perhaps that is a good percentage? Certainly for the bigger clubs who can take the hit both financially and within their squads. Not so good for clubs of our size though.
  13. Because it would be so unusual for a thread to go off topic Whelk? Although in this case Trump and far right politics are not exactly a million miles apart are they? Back to Trump, where do you go with it? If someone made his presidency so far as a TV show people would say it was too far fetched. Every day when you turn on the TV it is another round of "pinch me, I must be dreaming." As Verbal pointed out, the latest episode revolves around Melania's jacket. Trump himself says the message is about not caring about "fake news" (for those who dont know, fake news is anything that Trump doesnt agree with). Some are now suggesting that she is sending a message to him about not caring! It went way beyond a bizarre soap opera a long time ago. I'm not sure what else there is to say other than the bloke is a complete moron and you have to wonder where people are coming from who support him.
  14. You are a busted flush hypo. I also find it interesting to hear that others thought you had a dual log in on here. Given your appearance on Sotonians too (which you deny) there is a pattern emerging here. Oh, and your posts have been picked up by way more than three of us.
  15. Of course there is s principle of free speech, but this is not about that. It is about pretending to be one thing while being something else. As I have said before, there are some posters on here who have clear far right views and express them. As much as I disagree with those views at least you know what you are dealing with and can challenge them. With this particular poster that isn’t the case and he pretends to be one thing when he is something else. I have an axe to grind with him because he spent a lot of time following me around on here slagging me off and calling me a liar. It is good to see that so many other posters now see him for what he is and his latest attempt to label me a liar over the use of the Pepe Le Frog meme by the alt-right is easily disproved by 30 seconds on google. Perhaps he will now stop pretending, have the courage of his convictions and say what he really thinks? Still, as Verbal points out, individual spats are boring and I am happy to let others pick up from here as hypo should never get a free pass. Support for extremists be they left or right should always be challenged Whelk, wouldn’t you agree? As for Ms Hopkins, I would rather stick pins in my eyes.
  16. You also have an axe to grind my strange little mollusc. Is it possible to “bandy about” too freely when people post in support of it? I have an issue with people who pretend to be what they are not. You have an issue with that. Perhaps you should also get over yourself and speak out against people who support the likes of Yaxley-Lennon? Unless of course you think they have a point? As for your comment about Katie Hopkins, how old are you?
  17. It was appropriated by the white supremacists and neo Nazis in America Sue. Pepe's creator is apparently suing right wing media platform InfoWars for copyright infringement as he is not happy that his little frog character is being used by the alt-right. Hypo knows all of this of course and his claim that it is not being used as a symbol by far right groups is nonsense (or as he would say, "a lie"). Both in this thread and in the thread about terrorism he has come out in support of various right wing agitators and mouthpieces. The posts are there in black and white. He is of course entitled to his own views, but to pretend that he doesn't favour the far right is not born out in his posting history and the fact that he rushes to the defence of any far right pronouncers when they are called out on here. Yes, even Donald Bloody Trump! As you say, to pretend that he is anything other than he portrays himself on here is chuckleworthy. I was told once that you could always judge someone by the company they keep. Anyone speaking up for the likes of Trump and Yaxley-Lennon (and even that deeply unpleasant "tells it as it is" media whore Katie Hopkins) clearly has sympathies far right of centre.
  18. You have come out on this forum backing up people like Trump, Yaxley-Lennon, Katie Hopkins, Rees-Mogg and Johnson. You ignored Sour Mash’s clearly racist outpourings on the terrorist thread preferring instead to have a pop at people supporting law abiding Muslims and immigrants. You came out with the famous phrase “socialism is dangerous.” I don’t recall you ever posting in support of anything slightly left of centre. Oh yes, there was your other classic, “thank God my wife isn’t a Muslim.” Plus of course the use of the alt-right avatar. I rest my case. As for you Verbal, still smarting over that Sotonians nonsense? If you had read my response you would have seen that I wasn’t supporting the original post and hit the like button for a completely different reason which I tried to explain to you in a pm. I think you had probably left at that point. Oh well...sorry if you think I am boring but I don’t think people like hypo should be left unchallenged. At least you know what you are getting with Sour Mash and he doesn’t pretend to be something he is not, unlike hypo. As you clearly are so much better at this and far more imaginative, I will leave it to you to carry the banner.
  19. For God’s sake, man up. You sound like a pimply youth who has been turned down by a girl for a date to the prom. He isn’t the first transfer target who has decided to go elsewhere and he won’t be the last. Strange as it may seem, signing for Southampton isn’t on the top of everyone’s bucket list. You of all people so know this, given that you say we are run like a crappy seaside b & b. There will be others who do want to sign, so cheer up. Although, saying that, I doubt if you will ever find someone to go to the prom with you!
  20. I believe that we had an option to buy rather than a legal agreement for him to come here permanently. He chose (surprise, surprise) to go to Spurs instead. Norwich apparently accepted bids from both ourselves and Leicester for the player and it would seem that, for whatever reason, he would rather go to Leicester. Two players making choices based on their preference, but hey, lets just use their decisions to bash the club eh? Its a wonder anyone ever signs for us, isnt it?
  21. Yes it is a wild assumption because neither you nor I have any idea about the number of people who knew about it and have no shame (as you said). I dont think that the only people who knew about it were the ones in the dock. I also dont believe that the whole community knew about it. There are plenty of things that go on in all communities that other people in that community know nothing about. I am not "comparing" this to the Ched Evans' case. They are clearly two different sets of circumstances although I think you would be more outraged by his conduct if he was Muslim. If you read my comments you will see that I am talking about respect for women and the lack of it shown by those who abuse them - which relates to your lack of shame comments. That is comparable in pretty much every sexual abuse case going. If you watched the BBC programme about grooming, they did make the point that there was a lack of respect for the girls involved but they also pointed out that the girls were "available." Had Muslim girls been hanging around with the "white girls" do we know that they wouldn't have been involved with the sexual abuse too? As I say, you make huge assumptions based on your clear prejudices. There are plenty of Asian communities in this country that dont include these grooming gangs, not that you are bothered about those because you have made your mind up that Muslim men = sexual abusers.
  22. Of course the much bigger wage packet had absolutely nothing to do with his decision. Personally I blame Reed for the fact that Messi went to Barcelona and Ronaldo went to Madrid.
  23. Both kits look good to me. Not to much you can do with red and white stripes but this design looks pretty cool. The socks look great.
  24. Female and black. I’d have put my mortgage on hypo making a comment about her competence! Best place for her is in the kitchen eh hypo? ? There are plenty of poor male pundits on the telly but let’s have a go at the silly girl. She is still better than Andy Townsend!
  25. A tiny number. So how many are still getting away with it? You say thousands knew about it. How do you know how many knew about it? It is just a wild assumption on your part. Again, how many sex offenders do you know feel shame. Why are you just hung up on some men who happen to be Muslims? Of course they had a lack of respect for their victims. If sex offenders had respect for their victims they would sexually assault them would they? Did white man and football superstar Ched Evans show the slightest bit of respect for the women he ****ged in a hotel room when she was drunk? Some may show shame, but only when caught and they have to face the consequences of their actions publicly. No I am not saying that it is a pure coincidence, but if we believe what you say then all Muslims would be in sex grooming gangs and clearly these scumbags are still in the large minority. We do have large groups of white men carrying out sexual acts against children. Have you not been following the numbers of clergy being charged with sexual offences in this country, or are you too busy just focussing on Muslim offenders? What happened is appalling but is it any more appalling than the Australian comedian who was recently raped and killed while walking home or any of the other sexual assaults that go on all of the time all over the world? You are hung up on the fact that dark skinned men are targeting fair skin girls, what is wrong here is that men are assaulting women and girls. Check the law and you will see that it is not a greater offence if a Muslim rapes a non Muslim female, as much as you might think that it ought to be.
