Trouble is he always finds a negative comment, even when we beat the Dons he couldn't find anything positive to say. Not so much half empty, more completely empty!!! It is not often we get stuffed 1-4 and I feel proud of the team. I still feel gutted at the result after all of the good chances we carved out but Pards is right, we were niave when we went behind again and hopefully we shall learn from that. It would be nice to see one of the regular posters leaving his agenda behind for once and being complemenatry about a tremendous match.

Talking of which, am I the only one that thinks that our new owner looks like a bit part player from Dad's Army???
-
Mr Happy strikes again. Football is all about the fans and we were in the same boat not so long ago. I hope they stay in business so we can beat them next time. If you have any feeling for football in this country you should not wat to see any club go out of business (apart from Moan United of course!!).

Spot on. I just hope that he gets the support he deserves for the rest of the season (and as long as he is our manager).
-
James did well today apart from one major howler. But I wish we had finished better, we gave him the chances to make the saves.
-
How do you know it doesn't Alps??? Instead of having a pop again why don't you enjoy the fact that the team has done themselves proud.

Absolutely gutted at the result but very proud of SFC today. The support looked amazing and those red and white stripes in the stands before the start were awesome. As others have said, I thought we were the better team for most of the game but were undone but some very good counter attacks and soem great keeping. Shame we couldn't finish as well as them, but if you don't take your chances when you are top you end up paying for it. My only gripe was that Lambert should have been on the end of the free kicks rather than taking them. We he did go into the box he scored. Apart from Thomas who looked very average I though everyone did well. The scoreline flattered them but it was a really good game of football and we did ourselves proud.

Adrian Durham on Talksport has been given the job of backing them against the Premiership tonight. He is basically saying that they got into this mess because of the way the Prem is structured so the Prem should bail them out...what rubbish. They got into this mess because the club was very badly run. They have themselves to blame. No one came in from the league to bail us or Leeds out. Such is life, you reap what you sow, as Mr Redknapp will find out shortly!

Probably some forum mebers who finally got to know who each other were!

Always find something to have a dig about when everyone else enjoys the moment.

The seemingly current change of attitude at the top is a worry. I am hoping it has happened because the CEO doesn't want to be seen by fans as being another Lowe. HIs commenst were ill judged and ill timed but at least he didn't manage to knock us out of our stride for this very important game. The last time an exec made an announcement from upon high (Hone) that signalled the start of our demise. Let the maager and his team do the talking and say anything you need to behind close doors. Still, it is a time to be happy and at least the Moaning Minnies will have to keep quiet until we draw another football match!

It is their toy. Maybe they are winners. If they don't win though you won't be blaming them though will you, even though they put this management team in place. Be honest, if they were so desparte for success don't you think they would have paid the wages to bring the better players here like Ward and Danns. They want success, but they want it on a budget. This means they probably won't get it as soon as they and some you you want it. It also means that Pardew will probably lose his job sooner rather than later, but again, that is what a lot of you seem to want.
-
Yawn.....lets sack another manager and get another one in that you like eh? One that will win every game because as we all know, if you buy a few new players you have to win every game. Afterall, it has worked so well for us before. Redknapp, here for 5 minutes, spent £6m trying to keep us up. That worked well. Burley, here for one full season and a bit. £7m spent, no promotion. Perhaps we should stick with someone for a while, support them (and that doesn't mean shouting off to the press about how much pressure you have out them under to perform - isn't that a given when you give them the job?). Both Bates and McMenemy built their success over a long period of time. Maybe we should try stability again as the other options have done nothing but waste money. Yawn.
-
How many games have the new players played in exactly? How do you know they are mediocre until they have had a chance to bed in? Or do you have Alpine's crystal ball?
-
Really, so how much does it cost to guarantee promtion to the CCC then? Would you say we have a team/sqaud as good as Leeds or Norwich then? Leeds have been building for years and Norwich managed to keep some decent players. Pardew has had to start afresh but according to you and Alpine he is rubbish because he hasn't managed in just over half a season to get where Leeds and Norwich are...which one of us lives in cloud cuckooo land again?
-
The difference being I don't pretend I know what the in depth problems are with the team, I just support them and the manager. You however seem to know in every last detail just how poor the team are and how crap the manager is and you have seen all of, what, one live game???

If alchohol was developed now it would never get a license for public sale. Give it a few years and we probably will go down the American route, which is no bad thing as I am sick of seeing kids throw up in the gutter on Friday nights. The governement can't ban it as they make too much money out of it but in time it will go down the route of fags and be seen as a killer. The ads have already started and the scary truth is that no one knows what a safe limit to drink is.
-
Some of you will never be satisfied. If we all had Alpine's crystal ball this time last year we would be delighted at the way things have turned around, looking forward maybe to a trip to Wembley and dumping the Blue Few out of the F A Cup. Jeez, anyone would think that nothing had changed and we were still battling relegation. Yes things could be better, they could also be a lot worse (like no club). Hasn't the penny dropped yet, no club has a divine right to success and that includes us.
-
Now you are just being obtuse.
-
He has managed SFC for less than a full season. Are you telling me that that is a reasonable amount of time? Of course it isn't.
-
Which proves the point that it is not what you spend that counts!!!
-
Don't be such a plonker, we all want better results. Thing is, some of us are grown up and don't throw our toys out of the pram if we don't get them (as most teams don't). Time to live in the real world DD, as I keep telling you, you can't just buy success. I think most reasonable people on here would see that Pardew is doing okay and certainly should not be having his job questioned every time we draw a football match. Sadly though Nicola seems to think that is ok too...I don't think it is good behaviour or good management to add extra pressure onto the manager. Pardew is no fool and knows what is required, unless the 5 year plan really has become a 3 year plan (in which case why not spend more money up front to make that viable?).
-
Let me see, so unless our manager wins all of his games he is not up to the job and therefore we should sack him? Tell me again how many managers we have had who have averaged 3 points a game? Tell me how many managers in the football league have ever done that?
-
How many games exactly have you seen this year Alpine? Still it wouldn't be you if you weren't slagging off a manager would it? By the way, who employed Pardew in the first place? Do you remember the stick you gave to a previous CEO for employing who you thought were rubbish managers?
