The Totally Pointless La Liga talent thread
Pilchards replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
Lopez as a 3rd striker option to bring off the bench, a nippy winger like the one we missed out on to Liverpool & if they get rid of Gaston as we need someone to really deliver for 90 minutes then buy a good midfielder for 15-20 million. -
A dangerous topic I agree but it just got me thinking if you thought Saints have done match fixing? It's not so much as here's *#*# amount of money but more we will loan you a couple of half decent players the following season if you lay down a little. Over to you?
-
We are linked in the sun papers with a 20 year old keeper from Chelsea. Said we are interested in taking him on loan for the season. I can't see where he would be required as Boruc is showing his class and Gazzanigga can step it up next season. If Boruc wants too much money then I would hope for a class keeper who has seen it and done it.

Puffin is by far the best out there. (paid for mine as its truly worth it) Once you click away the X from the advertising you will be fine. Very rarely have I been booted off.

Callum Chambers and other young players on the books
Pilchards replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
Thats a fantastic report Papa, it's very interesting that we have so much talent in the youth academy and yes we do give them chances in the first team which helps the parents decide what's best for some of the kids. I guess if we produce just two class players out of the 10 mentioned then its fantastic progress. The other 8 know they will have a chance elsewhere as we breed footballers FULL STOP. I just hope one or two don't bite us on the bum if we turn away the wrong ones as we can't take them all. Very exciting for the youth players and the supporters as this club is flying in the right direction. Well done Southampton Football Club. PS we beat Arsenal last night although they had two of there best young players missing it still had the Arsenal staff drooling over some of our play according to some comments after the match. The general conversation was how we can step up such young players to the Under 21 format. -
If our run in was Man City, Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool & Cheldki then I would say we are safe, but as it's Stoke, Reading, West Ham & Sunderland Im not so sure.

Callum Chambers and other young players on the books
Pilchards replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
Im not so sure on Chambers as I expect him to be knocking on the first teams squad right now. I reckon Isgrove will be the next big thing as fans love speed and excitement from the flanks. A guess for the future is Dominic Gape, he has a real sporting brain and is the captain of the 18's. A real cool head on his shoulders that reminds me of Tony Adams. -
Very close, it was Tandy and his effort also got a deflection on the way before it beat the Bury keeper Gilpes.

Liverpool on a cold Friday night as we beat them 2 nil. Danny Wallace scored a 2nd as he out jumped Alan Hansen. Remember it well as I love my old dell days.

We need our own TV station, I would love to watch re-runs of classics to fill the time during interviews etc. -
Realistic target placing next season - current squad?
Pilchards replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Nice written piece & I totally agree with you, can't think for a second next season that Cortese will settle for a place far away from the European places as he wants improvement every year. -

I wonder if losing Cork & Spider to injury etc would upset this great formation? -
Just seen this thread on a Stoke forum & I expect the rest of the premiership are saying the same about us. Its great to have a good football you know? http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/211266/watched-southampton-on-motd

What's that in his hand? & no it was not a caption guess as I'm struggling for one.
-
Yes indeed, it will be something like 'Pompey approached him as player manager, or he wants to reveal his gay past?

Realistic target placing next season - current squad?
Pilchards replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Get Astori & a top nippy winger with a squad striker then I can see us flirting round the 8th mark. -
Someone already came up with a fantastic song for him on this thread but I can't be bothered to look as I'm busy.

And it's all Southampton Is my choice for titles.

Your best of the season Saints player? Morgan has been amazing in every game I've seen. Best individual performance from any player Saints/Opposition? Gaston Ramirez when he ran the show against Villa at home (class all over) Best match performance from Saints? Manchester United away, Never seen a Utd team give the ball away so much and watching Fergie scratching his head for answers. Highest point of excitement? The third goal vs Manchester City as I knew we had beaten the champions. Best Saints goal scored? Against Wigan when Morgan ran the length of the pitch and tapped in Jay Rods fantastic run. Lowest point that you thought it was all doom and gloom? Arsenal putting six past us, we was conceding so many goals at the time. Best goal conceded? That Stoke goal in the last minute, he just flew it out of Kelvin's reach. Best Song/comment heard on the terraces? He **** when he wants too (Puncheon) Worse pundit you have come across since our arrival back in the big time? Mark Lawrenson has turned out to be the biggest ***** (13 straight defeats he has predicted I believe plus Paul Walsh & Boring Gareth Crooks. Been Impressed with Stan Collymore and Phil Neville.

To release the boredom of yet a dull International break I have started a thread of what has happened THIS season. Your best of the season Saints player? Best individual performance from any player Saints/Opposition? Best match performance from Saints? Highest point of excitement? Best Saints goal scored? Lowest point that you thought it was all doom and gloom? Best goal conceded? Best Song/comment heard on the terraces? Worse pundit you have come across since our arrival back in the big time?

Thanks for taking the time out and posting that Mr Armstrong.

Hear hear, it would make this forum a better place without this dumb****. Btw I have put £10 on West Ham to get relegated because it gives me a 10% chance to **** myself with laughter if it happened, I could not believe the bookies guy when he said 'Better chance of Utd getting relegated.' Wow it might of been CB's double?
