What he's trying to say is it would be good if Bart comes in and does so well that we don't ever need to put Kelvin back in. Now this seems unlikely but Bart certainly has the potential to make it happen.
-
If he does he has very very rarely displayed it in a siants shirt, personally I think distribution is on a par with comming for crosses on his list of weaknesses. He hardly ever plays it short and his kicking is poor at best.

the gap to saftey is on the increase again, 4 points now and other teams are pulling away quite quickly we are looking at a lot longer fighting relegation than i hoped a week ago.

As a left winger Rudi was outstanding as shown by his great form in the play off season, he was then a victim of the failure to replace Gareth Bale and landed up playing left back where he was still reasonably effective without ever being brilliant. Last season I thought he did well for us in very difficult circumstances given that he was again played out of position and treated with utter contempt by the managment at the club who clearly wanted him out of the team and off the wage bill. I'd have him back in a heart beat if he wanted to play here as he is definately a class above this league. He is one of a number of players from this period who for some reason will always been talked down, Raziac gets slated yet the period of time when he played week in week out he was brilliant for us and his goal scoring record outstanding. Craine and best both get slatted on here yet both did well when given the oppertunity and did the right thing getting out before the club exploded. I wish people could see some of these players for what they are and that is not the best footballers ever but in terms of performances for saints more than good enough. Shame about Pele I was disapointed when he left and wouldn't mind seeing him back even now.

Why on earth should someone get cheaper beer because they are disabled, ridiculous! Just be happy that you got all the good parking spots and don't get tickets for parking on yellow lines and then go away.
-
Hes on the list of players I'd always welcome back into a saints shirt, always gave his all for the team. I don't think it will happen anytime soon as he has gone in a different direction to us and our midfield looks strong and settled. I think he'd be one that got a good reception from the crowd were he ever to return in a wolves shirt.

Strange how I seem to remember him scoring shed loads for about a season and a half before Burley inexplicably dropped him?!? Not saying I'd have him back but some fans have pretty short memories!
-
any sort of victroy and moving off the bottom of the table would be a brilliant result two clubs bettween us and the foot of the table and a great performance would be a massive bonus!
-
Lambert Premier League? Now I realise he's a good player for this level but lets be honest he is nowhere near premiership class. Jaidi was but his legs are not up to the prem and the jusry is out on KD at that level his only season being an absolute shocker, and dare I say it his standards are once again below the very high levels he set last year? We have a good possibly great team for this level but lets not get excited and make them into something they are not and certainly let there be no talk of walking anything!
-
Yes at any club except Southampton were you must be the finished article playing to full international standard before the end of your teens, other clubs appreciate that not everyone is a Theo Walcott or a Gareth Bale! Plenty of big name professionals haven't made a huge impact until there early to mid twenties and some even later in life.

That his the nail on the head really, I like many others really like the lad and think last season he was one of the few plus points and his attitude is always a credit to him but sadly he doesn't fit into the current formation and style that we have adopted the only positions he can play are occupied by better players (Hammond) or players in form (Wotton).
-
Except Gillett is proven at championship level and smith was a gash player who had already failed at that level? Real shame for Simon he waited so long for a chance at saints and I thought he grabbed it with both hands last year, then another change of manager seems to have de-railed him yet again. Good luck to him hope he has a great time at Donny and shows his best form once again.
-
39 posts and nobpdy has put up his football Manager stats we must be slacking.
-
Is this Pardew once again saying he wants rid of Gillett because he's rather play Paul Wotton? Got to say I don't really rate him as a judge of talent if it is.
-
Exactly it's all about the size of fish and the size of pond, in the prem we were always a small fish in a massive pond but now in league one we are the giant fish, as loads have poeple have pointed out we are no longer a prem side but our financial muscle power and fan base make us one of th big boys of this league we should be putting away some of these lesser sides and we are not something is very wrong.
-
Shame he missed the paragraph where he says he was shocked by his own performance in the dugout and won't make the mistake of utilising Wotton ever again and will stop his petty hate campaign aginst Holmes and Gillett and give them both a fair chance?
-
Why 4 managers a season? I wouldn't want to sack one that was getting us points? Blindly standing by a manager who thinks Wotton is better than Gillett and Mellis and Mills better than Holmes is ridiculous. The team are badly setup, poorly prepared and his substitutions are laughable. 9 points from 10 games is relegation form in any league even when you start level with everyone else!
-
My knife is already drawn, if we loose again on the weekend expect half the crowds knives to be out. Relegation form, which is unquestionably what we are showing is not acceptable from this expensively assembled squad. We can't afford to entertain Pardews failings for long every missed win pushes us further into the relegation battle that we are already up too our necks in.
-
Parew has one of if not the most expensive squad in the league and even if you ignore the points deduction we are showing all the form of relegation candidates, say what you like about lack of pre season and the -10 hanging round our necks but put quite simply we have not been good enough one lucky win all season is all he has produced. He continues to overlook Holmes and Gillett in favour of Mills, Mellis and Wotton which but simply is stupid when everyone can see who the better players are, substitutions last night were a joke. Face it people we are deep in a relegation battle and we need change now.
-
I'd sack him this morning, the form of the team is shocking, we are in a relegation fight already and people don't seem to be registering it. There are enough people at the club with managerial experience at this level to have a good go while we search for thr right man. Lets face it they would be hard pushed to get worse results out of League 1's most expensively assembled side. Maybe they'd even realise that Holmes is better than mellis and mills and Gillett is better than Wotton?
-
PARDEW OUT. That is all.
-
I have a sneaky suspicion from reading bettween the lines in Pardews comments that we won't see Oscar in a saints shirt again, hope I'm wrong but thats my gut feeling.
-
Below the premiership he has an excellent record so I would suggest even in his twighlight years he should be good at this level allthough his recent injury record is a concern.
-
but as has been pointed out no pace what so ever. I think the dig that was made was more at the general perception on this website that we always need something we haven't got, for ages what we needed was a 20+ goal a season striker then when we got one what we needed was a striker who ran around like a headless chicken which was what we had before. People then moaned about our total lack of mobile centre halves and then once they retired moaned about our lack of hard as nails none shall pass types. The latest phase seems to be moaning about the lack of pace on the wings but then once we've got a few quicks in they will moan about the lack of skill or crossing as they did when dyer was playing.
-
Would have him back as a reserves/youth coach tomorrow, we had some brilliant coaches at the end of our premier league era and I would welcome most of them back. If only we could convince Mr Prosts to live out his retirment at Staplewood.
