£1m for DMG - Why do people think it's such a bad deal?
a1ex2001 replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
I'd rather him be in our side next season than playing against us, so by that measure he stays. (Obviously he won't be going to a league 1 club but you can see my point) -
I believe the premier league has a lower points deduction and being the members only club it is I can't see them ever enforcing it against one of the big boys.
-
Would certainly be interesting if Liverpool went into admin, not sure the premier league would be as keen to throw the book at them as the FA was with us.
-
which sheffield there are two in the championship, I assume united?
-
I think it's best for both parties he moved on, he's got potential but he's stagnated here and not really shown anything in a saints shirt for a long while. Disapointed we didn't get more but it keeps the wolves from the door until we can start selling season tickets.

That is not true the only money classed as legal tender in England and Wales is that which is printed by the bank of England, that doesn't however mean scotish money should be rejected but it is up to the individual retailer to decide if the currency is acceptable. Ancient BBC news article too confirm this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/7161728.stm nothing has changed since as far as I am aware. Really we should just remove the stupid law that allows these scotish banks to print money and have a single currency for the uk.

Work behind the scenes un-noticed don't splash your names all over the media and most importantly of all don't listen to the fans they don't know what they want.
-
Matt is taking the same role in this as Gary Linaker did in the leicester City take over ie nothing more than putting his name on the packaging. I fully expect him to have nothing todo with the day to day running of the club and the only involvment will be a continuation of his ambasador role. He doesn't have the skills for anything else and he knows it, this take over isn't a case of Matt comming chanrging in on a white horse with a suitcase full of money it is a clever group of individuals who have convinced him to be the public face knowing it will make the bid more acceptable to the fans than any other. Like everything else in football these days it is business pure and simple at the end of the day.

I already have A N OTHER on the back of my shirt so why not the front as well, I'm all for it.
-
more smoke and mirrors and more tired news agencys rehashing known stories to suit the headline, stop panicing people it will happen when it happens and pages of speculation will not speed it up.
-
that causes the humour, everyone is sick or rummours and allegations and the complete lack of fact.
-
I really really hope that when the news does come it doesn't arrive on a friday.
-
is this the friday thread of poo then? I refuse to get sucked into believing anything that is written on here unless it is backed up with a credible linked source, every friday we have a thread full of no mark attention seekers spouting rubish and yet still people believe them?
-
I think you'll find he's spent most of his career at this level with only brief and mainly unsuccesfull spells in the prem, still a quality player at this level and I wish him well.

Crikey I forgot about Goram playing for Man Utd!
-
It will be a regional thing and the games hosted will not doubt feature some of the lesser nations, there would after all be no point in Japan playing Tonga on a 60'000 capacity arena much better to have a small ground full than a big ground empty.
-
He has also played left wing, right wing and in the hole alot this season so his goal scoring record isn't actually that bad.
-
The Barnsley fan sat next to me who goes most weeks says he's garbage.

I love this website, If your not 16-17 then your old and if your not the finished article at 20 your past it. In the good old days young players were given some time to adapt, Gillett is a bit of a special case as he was consistently ignored by previous managers and I'm surprised he never left after a couple of decent loan spells away from the club.

Which is about what it would cost to pay off the short term debt, the buyers do not need 20-30 million because they don't need to pay off the stadium out right on day one they just need to come to an agreement with AVIVA to take over the mortgage either on the existing or new mutually beneficial terms.

3 recent PL teams down to League One - Coincidence?
a1ex2001 replied to Saint Martini's topic in The Saints
and he's had a shed load of cash by that divisions standards but he won't let that get in the way of a good story! -
It wasn't money, Oakley has stated before that it was length of contract. Burley/Lowe/Someone was only willing to give him a one year contract given his appalling injury record in the two previous seasons he thought he deserved a least two. Saints were not willing to match this so off he went to Derby played 99% of the games and got player of the season in a promotion winning side. Personally I wasn't to sad to see him go he had been garbage for saints for a couple of seasons and really failed to show his class once we were relegated, I think the move re-invigorated him.
-
I think he would have been a close second for my player of the season and would have been even closer if it wasn't for his spell out of the side, played with passion and determination everytime which was something most of our players failed to do.

What are Saints players current transfer values
a1ex2001 replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
He looked like he was running through waist deep mud all day, never have a I scene a player second to the ball on so many occasions when it was at least 70-30 in his favour to win. His first touch also reminded me of Heskey, sadly his lack of commitment prevents him from matching the sliding tackle second touch!
