I received this today 'My son is taking part in a social experiment, he has to wear a Pompey shirt for 2 weeks to see how people will react to him... So far he has been spat at, punched, and verbally abused.... Will be interesting to see what happens when he leaves the house!

Sky called this the Brexit election, but I thought it was a GE with Brexit being one of the main issues. Personally as a remainer the main issues to me was not Brexit per say as I took it that if the Tories won with a decent majority, yes Brexit would be done. My major concern was the election of a party with far left policies that if implemented would cripple much of our country and you are old enough to recall the 70's and the madness of too much union power and the taxing of the people who create. Add to that the man who IMO is unpatriotic and not likely to defend us when confronted.
-
For someone who is 'for the working classes, the trodden upon, the poor etc etc' it is pretty sickening that you are hoping for Brexit/our country to fail, just so that you can be proved right. Are all you lefties unpatriotic and unless it goes to what you believe you need it to go wrong??? I respect your views and know that you are pretty gemmed up on stuff but at times let yourself down, which is a shame. If you are Gavyn Davies, were you one of Blair Browns advisors who did not question taking the regulation of the City away from the BOE and let them self regulate?.... If so ,that went well.

1. Boufal has an infected toe ,therefore is not able to play. Secondly whilst I agree its good to have that option he may look good in bursts Im not sure he is a 90 minute player. Although to be fair I think he has improved his tracking back and defending part of his game

Can someone please give me the definition of child poverty? It obviously not the same as when Dickens was alive, and I also would like to know the definiton of poverty at todays standards. Children are the most precious things on this earth and so this is important for me to understand for modern meaning.

but they haven't, yes they did wonderfully but Tories won seats. She was the leader of her party and couldn't even convince her own people in her constituency. Listen to the episode of Dead Ringers the satire show on BBC iplayer. It was a brilliant show and it hit the point where they said Jo Swinson basically telling 17.4million voters to swivel how could it have gone wrong.

You say the British public are thick after trumpeting Corbyn on here and his policies that were in no way able to be fulfilled. A man who does not love my country and flies against most decent peoples principles. A man so full of his own importance has not done the decent thing by resigning immediately. The people who left Labour for the Tories were not rich, but fed up/embarrassed of the party that they usually voted for. Frankly those people in the NHS and teachers etc may be upset but they will come out of the election pretty well as BJ will have to spend on their services, and I fully expect him to do so. Reading about the protestors saying they dont recognise Boris as PM, when will these left thinking people finally accept what democracy is, and shows me how lucky we are that these are not behind the driving wheel of our nation. They would crush anyone else without a second thought
-
If you truly believe that Corbyns/Labours spending plans would have been good for your kids future you are wrong IMHO. Your children are no doubt brainwashed by your opinions but they should be more optimistic and they will have a bright future if they really want to work to get there. Corbyns plans were a nonsense as they destroy more than they grow. I didnt like Boris but if he delivers like he promised today,it is a moderate agenda and as he has such a good majority he can take less heed of the ERG
-
A man of principle lol. If he had any principles he would have resigned immediately.

Come on SOG not everyone is like that. The fact is Labour backed the wrong horse and was prepared to lurch so far left it was always going to be difficult to get them in. Even though they tried bribing all and sundry a large slice were not foolish enough to believe it. It was a crushing defeat and proves that our society doesn't really fancy a Marxist who sidled up to enemies of our nation. He got what he deserved and I myself hope that Boris goes through with what he said in his speech this morning

I dont think they will have to go to the job centre.I think there is some kind of safety net for these people.

to be fair it was....for Johnson

I was a remoaner but had accepted the result, watching Alistair Campbell today on ITV where he still couldn't bring himself to accept that the message has been lost. It was pathetic how these people believe they know best and that the 'poor' are not bright enough to make their own minds up and people like him have to decide for them. Hence these strong Labour seats have revolted against these people

IMO Marcus should have hero status as I truly believe he came to love our club and fans.I always kick myself as we had a room in corporate and he just stood outside in the corridor by himself with a smile on his face as he watched us enjoy. I wish we had invited him in for a drink and chat
-
Crikey, all those people are Labour voters? you didn't you put workshy btw
-
I feel cheated as I believe had Marcus lived a lot longer we would be an impressive football club and may have even won something. On the other hand if I had inherited a rugby club and was worth a fortune I would have no compunction in selling it to get mymoneyin.

Can anybody explain to me what UC is and who it covers etc? SOG I read through the posts and not knowing about the system the little I glean is that you are paying a mortgage and so wonder why the nation is not contributing to that. I can only assume that in theory we would be paying for your potential gain on your asset. If it is a negative equity Im sorry for that but I did think that benefits were a safety net not a way of life. I have been fortunate that since I left school at 16 I have used my own initiative to earn a living and never gone to the state. Iam looking forward to getting a pension in 6 or 7 years although it keeps getting pushed into the future and am not sure I will ever see a penny. I recall when I first started it used to be National Insurance and pension contributions but the last part was changed some years ago. I assume as your wife is 53 and you are drawing a pension she is considerably younger than you, it is tough for her knowing she has the burden to find the shortfall and I commiserate, but I assume you do have the option of selling your asset of a home and downsizing, or is that option not there?

what odds have you got for those 2 bankers then??

The 4-3 at Tranmere after being 3 up all those years ago under Hoddle took a lot of getting over

Until this morning I hadn't seen that, and so perhaps he may now not win. There again Joshua is a lot lighter than expected, not so much muscle and so his strategy must be speed not his full power -
The total of claim was not a concern to me. They expect to start high and finish a lot lower of course. That said and done was a pretty bad remark by someone with influence and it was IMO totally out of order. If you made the same slur to Musk and it was so public I expect he would put the full force of his power up against you. Anyway my opinion is different to yours

Amazing that decision in the US courts. Personally I will refrain from buying a Tesla in future. It wont make a jot of difference to him but every little helps.

Funnily enough the Norris one was not that much of a problem for me. They were going down and we were going up, Id take that everytime. Unless you were there you would not understand the Heath 84 at Highbury. It was a travesty, the ref let Gray get away with fouls all game. It was us against Neville Southall who was brilliant. A crying shame as we had a fantastic team and really deserved to win. As for the trouble on the pitch after the Everton fans came on goading us........

Scoucers at a country mile as the media bloody adore Liverpool

when you see people like that Im sure it loses Labour more votes than it gains.
