Is there anyone on here who wanted Puel out who now regrets it??
OldNick replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
why the aggression Ron? I agree we shouldn't have appointed Puel in the first place. I had never heard of him and he was underwhelming. I gave him a chance and felt he was left out to dry by not giving him a goalscorer. I was hoping he would have had the summer to rectify the goalscoring problem, and us push on. The club were also wrong to keep putting him in front of the cameras when it was patently obvious nobody had a clue what he was saying, this annoyed us as a fanbase. Never have the club appointed a manager that really inspired me, we don't get the choice but each time we sack someone there is always a risk we get a dud. Sadly this time it looks like that has happened but on sunday we may think the club has done ok by keeping their nerve. The players seem to be fighting for him and so we might have a smll chance of riding the storm. Then comes the summer, what then???? -
welcome, but your judgement is questionable if you think this is a good forum.

it will also have given all the other clubs time to assess and make bids for him in the summer

As the thread says. The Puel out thing divided the fans. I still feel cheated that he was sacked, I wanted to see him develop our team, and felt he was badly let down. Especially after the way he took us to Wembley, and finished in a decent position. A place to start from to get us even higher perhaps. He would have known our need for a goalscored and hopefully would have filled that gap. The Puel outs obviously will say they didn't want Pelligrino, but that's always the risk when you want change. You can only roll the dice so many times and get lucky.

lets not get greedy. If we can start winning then the logjam can open a bit and the team will gain even more confidence. If we lose tonight and I feel that could happen as the pressure will be so much on us tonight, especially how all the other results went. They will come and defend and hit us with the sucker goal, its the way it happens to us. All due to the casual way the board have dealt with things
-
get 4 points in the next 2 games and it wont matterthat we didn't get Promes, as the team have started to build. Less points than that and it will degenerate.

Why??? we need someone to put the ball in the net. We create lots of chances
-
I really don't get why our fans are always having a go at Redmond. We need him to get his confidence back as he is going to be the player with pace in the squad. If Pep thinks hes a good player and sis frustrated that he can seeRedmond not being allowed to play the way he is best at, why cant the fans give him some slack. He has been shackled by the tactics of our manager. Think of defence first is his way. Ok fans don't like his perceived throwing his arms in the air,but that is because he cares IMO. He was involved in lots of the chances created but were missed. The glaring CA one againstHuddersfield the last I can recall. Had CA scored that we would not be where we are now. Give Redmond a chance, if Quincy doesn't come we need him desperately to spark into life

the club really know how to play the fans. VVD was sold before the window opened. We knew that we needed players in and should have got those in place before the news came out and also to be ready for the crucial games this month. I wonder if the board realise they have messed up big time and cant risk spending that money and so make a convenient backtrack. Blame the Russians to take the heat off them

Disaster, especially for all those staff members who will be made redundant. Its not just our entertainment. The clubcould go into freefallas we don't know how the debt is stacked up. Any quality players will lave and like last time we will struggle, as we haven't got the balls for a fight. Our squad isn't one for fighting against the Championship teams who are in your faces. Tonight is one of the biggest matches in our recent history, fail to win and we will be the only team in the bottom 6who have not had a lift. All the rest apart from Huddersfield seem to have found some form.

Perhaps instead of some foreign player shouldn’t we buy a couple of decent English championship players. Cheaper and also ready for next season
-
This is is so like the last time we went down. WBA looking buried but saved themselves. Bournemouth haven’t got a team to play at the end of the season so they can lie down to see us relegated!

Pellegrino out? Or are we resigned to keeping him?
OldNick replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
Signing his choice says the club will keep him on -
I will only believe that when CB Fry tells me lol
-
It was better 'tooth hurty' but I get your jist
-
I did put only teasing, Ive had root canal treatment today so I need to take it out on someone lol
-
Consistently breaking our transfer record..

I remember with Delap when the manager tried to use his long throws as a weapon for attack, the fans turned and gave a lot of abuse to the team and manager about it. Delap left and his long throw became a potent weapon. -
At the end of the day is the risk of signing a 30M player too much when the chance of us going down is probably 70-75 probability at this moment. This time thursday morning the odds may have changed dramatically either way.

Perhaps Heisenberg met them at Moscow airport and that put them off coming, after he gave them his in depth knowledge of football...only teasing
-
did he text you before Heisenberg, just trying to see who is his best mate lol You must know Heisenberg then Turks??
-
does he own up to it??? Also he is probably as big a fan as you leaving after 35mins lol
-
its all very well getting excited about Promes, but will be any good in the PL??? Have we yet bought a high priced signing that has turned out any good??? Ramirez, Osvaldo being 2 of the main ones who come to mind??
-
if his goals keep a club up, then his wages would pale into inssignificance
