Laugh by all means to celebrate like that no way. A Welsh colleague of mine was ashamed of their conduct.
  2. Surely the Chancellor should point out the dire consequences as hr saw it of our leaving. At this moment in time I think the Brexit is the most devastating event that has happened to our economy. I remember my father deriding Healy and co when we had the embarrassment of considering the IMF to bale us out in the 70's. We are either 5th or 6 th in the world regarding our economy, it would be interesting to know what we were when we first went in. Of course we didn't have the new major economies of China India and Russia at that time

well why do we show such love and enthusiasm back then? The players were celebrating the humiliation of many of their team-mates
  4. Personally I think Osbourne has done a decent job as well as Carney. They have tried to steady the ship in the face of quite some turbulent winds.

I suppose a lot depends if you are buying or selling. The big oil companies would have made plenty
  6. the thread asks would he improve us. IMO he would and is a box to box midfielder.

After watching the Welsh teams celebrations after Englands defeat against Iceland I couldn't give a toss how they do tonight, a good hammering might do them so good. I understand them being quietly pleased, but that was pretty distasteful.

as in all things there is no silver bullet but as far as I can see the club is set up to provide others for success. Our fans will be paying high season ticket prices and buy merchandise to pay a lot of the overheads and then the club develops players to sell on at massive profits, which disappear into the ether. I agree we don't want ot be a bankrupt club and also high transfer fees don't guarantee success, but do you not envy clubs even smaller than us who have won trophies in the last 10 years or so? It seems to me our fans are happy to live with bragging that we finished 6th /7th or 14th. I feel we are being cynically used and have been brainwashed that there is some kind of moral high ground to find and develop players who then go onto play at bigger clubs. IMO if the club really want to develop the club as a worldwide brand they actually need to win stuff as the people in China USA and Japan etc are not prepared to o follow also rans. A difficult thing to balance but IMO we need to show a but more ambition.

Why have our fans got such a low expectations? It seems to me so many feel we have only been in the top division for only for a few years in our history, how many years were we out of the top division 5or6? We were in the top league for over 25 years before that. It is not a recent phenomena that we wee in the top parts of the league. Proudly being part of a stepping stone club may be great but I dont see many trophy cabinets needed finishing 6th and below. Lets be greedy and demand proper success not be the breeders and feeders to others to have the real success.
  10. Could you change title and show some respect to the great lady. It is Caroline Aherne not Mre Merton RIP Caroline a real star
  11. where have all the great facillities come from all of a sudden. Did they take him to a David Lloyd centre and let him think it was theirs? The pitches were like bowling greens!! where the hell was he, is he thck and was looking at astro turf
  12. As I read it if after the 2 years an agreement on trade cannot be agreed we are cut away and then you use WTO tariffs. Not a good thing. At the moment I wonder if we are in a Phoney war and are in denial. It seems to me people are taking a deep breath and think we have pushed the problem down the road for 2 years. I have a mixed view from some very wealthy clients, some are going to relocate their business best as they can into Europe and the USA while i spoke to another who sells yachts to people like Roman Ambramovich and he tells me we are going to be fine and that Europe needs our business. I think most really dont know what is in store

there are a few players at those clubs that would be fine for us Im sure

True, but to be fair a surely a squad should improve with good coaching. I think that if he had been at clubs where they had real success as him as a coach you may well be heralding how good he is because of that. He hardly is a good luck charm
  15. I cant recall Stek making a match winning save. It seemed that a shot away from his body and it was a goal
  16. its not going to be Boris
  17. Yep that'll do the job. Make the products dearer for our own people and at the same time all the Jags, Bentleys, Range Rovers, Hondas, etc etc will be taxed to the hilt so that many of the companies relocate into Europe
  18. If Puel is an underwhelming choice for the fans, how will the players think? Koeman was obviously a world name and even if the young players hadnt heard of him they soon would have been told of his reputation. As for Puel and Black, surely a copy of Garde and Black but Garde had a better record
  19. just seen this on Facebook, quite good
  20. I personally dont believe its meltdown but major disappointment. Is there some kind of badge of honour because you say can say we have sold our best 3 players and managers for the last few seasons? When people see me they say 'Youve just sold XYX I notice.' and then carry on with a patroniing tone but 'havent you done well' I would prefer them to say comment 'Did you have a great day at Wembley' etc etc etc. So from my standpoint it is a case that however much money the club sells a player for I dont get any of it. I can understand Katrina and Co dancing with joy as their investment has gone u again, but as a fan why have a shirt with a players name on, or even let them become a hero as no sooner as you adore they leave. Iam too long in the tooth for it now, but i recall my fears and ultimate deep sadness as i watched my childhood heroes leave , Ron Davies , Mick Channon etc. It must really be sad for the young fans now as they see their heroes for a season or more before they are gone, at least I had 5 or so seasons to adore my childhood heroes

At the end of the day none of those players are the absolute stars at their clubs. They need the foreign players around them to help them tick.Although I suppose Kane and Ali are at Spurs. Sturridge as a winger??? Kane taking set pieces ???? Taking off Dier who added strength to our midfield against the strong and athletic Icemand players. Has Hodgson actually had a proper post match iinterview? If not why havent the FA made him do one instead of skulking away. We as fans last night needed answers
  22. the only sustainable growth is Katrinas bank balance. We are a cash cow and whilst we are delighted to finish 7th and think that is some kind of achievement it will carry on. At least the club dont have to employ a cleaner for the trophy room.
  23. I agree that is a heartening read.
