I went to a client yesterday, he bought his house in 1967 for £5k and has just sold it for £985 k. Had he rented for that time?

good one CB, you are right we are no different to Everton, they sell and we sell. i would never wish to be Everton though, Highbury 1984 still irks

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 1-1 FC Midtjylland
OldNick replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I thought we looked better than we did against Vitesse. Jordan should have done better with his chance by either getting a shot on target or passing to Pelle when through on goal. Targett did ok, we have to get used to raw 19yr old lads playing as we sell our best players. I wonder what the odds are of Koeman beng the first manager to go, not that he will be sacked but just as he will see the potential damage to his reputation as the squad is constantly weakened as the club draw the money. We have not spent all of last seasons fees.It is KL business and she is free to do as she likes but as this goes on the fans will drift away. It is not her fault that the players leave but to mind the money in is not properly reinvested in the team. The revolving door policy must make it nearly impossible to get a good United team spirit in the dressing room. Our English spine is lost and perhaps the fight for each other is lost. I think we will win next week but I would swap progress in the Europa for a couple of wins in the league.I f we don't start to get some points the nerves will set in -
I doubt the Mane story was put out to deflect the Pedro story as very few Man U fans would be impressed by signing a fairly unknown Saints player, now if they used the Muller story I would agree I don't think they have spent the money we took in last season that they said they would invest back as yet
-
Mane will be snapped up next summer if not before. He is going to be a star player. I would not be surprised if Chelsea did not come in for him.John Terry said he was the best player he came up against last season, and no doubt Mourinho would notice. We lack pace up front, to lose mane's would be a disaster

Im not sure that is correct. if you save and pay back and cut your cloth according to your income buying your home is far better than paying a landlord. Why pay rent so that somebody else can lie on a beach, rather than you as you size down when you get to an age? My concern for SO16 is that the lure of all that cash in the bank will be too much and holidays to Disney etc will soon eat up the cash reserves. I think you have come to your senses and have decided to stay and pay, rather than rent. When i read of young people with young kids struggling it does make you feel humble, but i went through that when i was young and am now well set. Full respect that SO16 is not running away from his responsibilites and wishing to pay back. You should be proud of yourself

Well as we are just a cultivation club, and basically the reserve team of others the owners should reduce the prices to watch them. 37 quid to watch a team of developing players and hopefuls. Some might put up with it but somebody like Koeman won't
-
We should be sponsored by E-Bay as every player is a 'buy it now '
-
it is very early yet, but you cant keep selling quality and throw in players from abroad who dont know our game. It worked last year but it seems others are now following our lead and chasing the same targets as us.I just turned on to see the result and couldn't believe it. our strong defence is gone and we are letting goals something that we have not been used to for a couple of seasons
-
Mentalist (whatever that means, I assume an insult). I thought you would understand how us playing them in a League cup game would even things up. I dont think we would play our strongest side against them(we didn't do so when we were close to the qtr finals of the FA cup)and they would raise their game, especially if it was at FP. Cup games and coming 7th in the league means SFA when it comes to knock-out competitions. We have everything to lose, even if we won by 3 or 4 it would be brushed off as we are the PL club. Let them languish going out against L2 opposition
-
he will do all the magical stuff but Frannie will have to come on to do all the grafting.
-
We are. Ugh if we want them to play us, we are on a hiding to nothing.Let them go out next round away up north to a L2 club where they get little revenue. Why do people want to fill their coffers by playing us and also having the opportunity to roll us over. Its madness. Derby games are not like a normal match and things get evened up

Ho's bit about living at home etc....anyone remember his post where his wife wouldnt let him use the computer lol
-
I've just seen Manes chances, they were hardly open goals. The first was a brilliant block the 2nd a defender was sliding in and the keeper was set.Ok you'd expect him to hit the target. I don't think Erwins man management by stating he should score is the right thing to do either. We shouldn't bash Manes confidence anymore. He is is good player and will develop into a top one

co e on Crabbyhe is just a lad and is from the Acadamy. The club has a policy of selling our best players and so each season we have to put up with young players making mistakes. We have not spent all the money we took in last season let alone this summer. Targett has been thrown in the deep end and is trying his best. The club are hoping that the Acadamy can provide the quality to fill in the gaps. It is ironic that we played our first game in Arnhem, A bridge too far perhaps for the club by playing in the Europa

i have just listened to McInnes and whilst it was done to play up to the fans, should not the Council safety officer not be a tad concerned that pieces of masonry are falling off and McInnes own words it might kill someone?
-
that must have stretched Photoshops capabilities to their extreme. Nice tribute though

My observations not criticisms. Caulker was at fault for the first goal as he drifted in to the middle and seemed to want to play where Fonte was. He did look very nervous on the ball and obviously early days to settle. He won plenty in the air and should have scored with his header. Martina was given a poor review on here when he signed, but to me he looked a decent and athletic player. The only thing i didnt like was that he did not hide his frustrations at his team-mates. JWP was tidy and tried to dominate but too careful without trying the killer pass Reed, i dont see what all the fuss is about and looked just ok, without the extra needed to be a top player. I hope it is down to pre season and I have got that wrong. JRod, was obviously rusty and I felt was anxious if there was going to be a tackle.Hopefully once he gains a bit of confidence after a couple of heavy tackles that will clear his mind. On a personal note I took my granddaughter to her first ever game (4yr old) and expected her to want to leave after 15mins but she loved it, great to see her punch the air after we scored lol.Where she learnt that i will never know.

Until Saintsweb have the members names on the banner instead of fomer players/heroes to massage egos aka Sotonians I can't see Muppet ever recovering.
-
I can't see the problem, it. Is just a simple transfer of ticket and only issued once, although of course the S/t holder may well use this as a guise to get some freebie in,eg 2tickets for the price of one

Ron Davies left Saints and even played for Pompey, his memory was not tarnished as he gave us so much whe he was with us. RL gave his all and it shows how little a lot on here know about football. RL was never at his best as a target man, but his quick mind and ability to find a pass or stick the ball in the net was and is superb. I know it was against L2 players but the 2nd goal he scored the other night was due to a sharp brain and speed to see a chance.
-
I don't know what RL behaviour was like as he was leaving Saints but the former kit an is a mate and he said that RL was class always at the club. The way he acts in public shows class, and if he doesn't in the club he is a fantastic actor. A decent human being IMO and I will always wish him well
-
no doubt the tickets with the highest face value will be sold first. I'm sure the s/t holders in the best seats (lol) will be delighted when mates of the smelly bell owner sit in that section. As for the picture of the fans in the News article are shielding their eyes so that they don't have to watch. Fantastic bit of selling, you buy a seat and spend a lot of the match shielding your eyes
-
I had to look at the ones that were worse. No much in it. Debatable if the ones below were indeed worse
-
Scrubbers in Pompey apparently according to BBC south Today. Why they are reporting something we have always knownis a bit of a surprise..............oh the scrubbers that clean exhaust fumes on the channel ferries
