Lowe & Richards in board room on Sunday at Forest....Confirmed by Club
OldNick replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
NC, I think you will find that you had previous history woth DW when you used to try and discredit his articles as well as Duncan. Coming back as NC gave you an opportunity to start with a clean slate and use your valid points to win debates.I find it difficult to join in and add some support to SOME of your views as it will end up as a slanging match and I lose some credibility with these people I like even though they are poles apart. Gingeletiss seems to jump on any idea i put and tries to take the other side, but I dont dislike him and try not to be overly abusive. He is a good adversary and like um and most of the others on here I amsure would get on really well with in the real world. Get back on level and remember that you may not have been an angel from teh beginning i know that from our many crossing of swords a year or so ago. -
whne I posted a thread saying something on those lines a couple of weeks ago I was pilloried
-
well TNT you obviously blew your own brains out. I have had ample opportunity to sling mud but I havent. It is fans like yourself who seem to want division and wish to put a wedge between the fans. I firmly believe that it would be right as i suggested to have a stand named after LM

Where have I dropped the I believe?? You are so wrapped up in conspiracy theories you got your knickers in a twist. You cant understand the concept that somebody can see faults but also understand the needs to reward the good things done. I dislike the later things that LM did. I want the club to move forward withput the nonsense of past personalities but as you only are a 1 way street you wouldnt understand.

NC you dont help yourselves at times. You put over some very good points but then go on crusades against other respected posters on here. Keep to putting over you valid points and try and keep away from the conflict. -
We are all different and some forgive others can't.Perhaps the board of directors were at fault for mot providing the funds he wanted or the players. At the time I felt very upset and those scars have not healed.

To play up front alone against the big bruising centre halves in the CCC takes some doing. he did well and an hold his head up.
-
they cant hold their knife and fork properly as they dont come in McDonalds cartons
-
I have not seen a replay of the Wotton incident but I do know the players and staff wrere not happy with the challenge.
-
Wes i dont agree. MW realised that we need a lump of a centre forward and bullying centre backs. We just didnt have them oney to get them in.We cant play beautiful football to get out of the L1 we need brawn and a little craft
-
dont worry flyer your time will come as well. You dont think those new owners bought you for football reasons surely.
-
IMO he will prove you wrong.Lionel Messi he is not but he will develop into a very good player

o you not think that LM when he left was not dissimilar to when Gh left. We were left rudderless after our hopes had been so high for the future. Alan Ball walked out and then said some terrible things that really upset the fans who adored him. Those things stick, you may be happy to move on, but at that place and time it left scars that I have trouble forgiving.

Daren, I agree LM was a magnificent manager and perhaps as he had attained such heights for us, him leaving cut me so much to the quick I turned bitter about him. As I say i didnt wish this to become a witch hunt either way by starting this thread. He deserves recognition for his achievements when he was here as a manager.I for 1 would welcome the event if it happened. It wouldnt change my mind due to some actions later.
-
When he left for Man city yes he was no longer a Saints player. When he returned and playing for Man city he got a fair amount of stick from all sections of the ground..When he returned as a player he was adored again. It also is how they conduct themselves after they leave of course, would we view Phillips the same way as Crouchie?
-
When i was younger and dewey eyed about Saints ANY player who left us was a traitor. Nowadays I have become numb to star/hero's leaving to better pastures and can accept that and realise they do it for betterment. This thread was not aimed to be about LM qualities since he left but my wish that although I dont admire his later actions he should rightfully get awarded for his achievements when he was our manager. If our club is ever to recover fans like myself who hold grudges or negative thoughts against such people should be put aside so we can move on.I am prepared to do so.

Whatever my thoughts on LM, i believe a stand or suite should be named after him, in honour of his achievements pre 1985. Personally I think the day he left for Sunderland was a cut off for me to really adore him as a true Saint. That still does not stop me from appreciating those wonderful days when he was pulling for us and providing us with a club that was thrilling. He deserves that recognition whatever his faults after that time. Is that easier for you?
-
can you read and digest what I have said? or you thicker than Mr Thick on a dim day. Whatever my thoughts on LM !!!!!!
-
trouble is there are many players who you could name stands after. What about Ron Davies and my fathers hero Charlie wayman? LM gave us the best footballing days and he should be recognised in that capacity IMO If the new owners (it any) we shoudl also campaign for a proper Saints museum not the half baked nothing happened before RL theme.
-
That is your opinion and fine.He still walked out on us and I felt let down. Was Askham the chairman at that time? I thought it would have been Woodford, but I could be wrong. If it was Askham shows what a terrible effect he has had on the club in all his time here.He is a Teflon chairman that man. I still think a stand or suite should be named after LM.

Saga doesn't want to play League 1 football and isn't playing tomorrow

Unless we know the circumstances of his contract i think it is unfair to say the club treated him unfairly. We couldnt afford to play him IMO, and yes he did score a few when he first came back into the team, but then went on a very lean spell at the crucial time of the season. -
