  1. 2-2. Forum meltdown due to people complaining we couldn't beat crappy old Sunderland at home, while the more sensible posters agree that 4 points from the first 2 games isn't a bad return. that being said would ****ing love a 4-0 win.
  2. I had the impression that Nolan, in keeping with the realism theme, used JGL as a different take on Robin instead of the green Y fronted Robin we're all used to. Once you find out via the little twist at the end of TDKR what Blakes actual name is it makes you think back to how he was like a sidekick to Batman for the film. I thought Bruce Wayne leading him to the cave was his way of passing over the mantle of the bat. I'm quite certain it won't be a simple as Superman vs Batman, as well, Superman would flatten Bats. They'll end up teaming up to fight a bigger threat in the end IMO.
  3. This was my initial thought when I heard the news of Affleck getting the role. In fairness to the bloke his stock has risen considerably in recent times, Argo and The Town were both very well directed, and acted by Affleck so I find some of the reactions towards him a little OTT. As mentioned in a previous post i'm pretty sure the reason they aren't using JGL is out of respect for Christopher Nolan and the world he created. His Batman films were made to be very realistic, and almost un-comicbook like in the way they were written, particularly The Dark Knight. The underlying theme throughout his films was that anyone could be Batman, he was a symbol designed to inspire ordinary people. It would be a kick in the teeth to him to then bring Superman and whatever other unworldly beings into that universe, so i'd expect to see a Batman more like the 1989-1997 movies rather than the Nolan films.
  4. All very sad and that what's it got to do with Saints?
  5. Why go all the way to Turkey when you could just go to Fratton Park. Everyone knows they have the bestest fans in the wholest world with a crowd so noisy it would make the Boca/River Plate derby seem like a church service. Cough, bull****. in reply to your post I would love to see Saints play somewhere with fans like the Turkish clubs. Feyenoord away is another ground I'd like to experience for the atmosphere.
  6. Cracking feeling to win on opening day, start as we mean to go on!! More than happy to eat my pre match words about a 3-1 loss!!
  7. Man of the moment Lambert to carry on where he left off and put us 1-0 up, but West Brom's attack show us up in defence and we end up losing 3-1. Hope I'm wrong.
  8. I believe he should be captain anyway. Full stop.
  9. I like to think that somewhere Alan Pardew and Nigel Adkins were enjoying that moment as much as we all were.
  10. Just 2 and a half years ago they were celebrating League One goals together. Just look at them now, incredible.
  11. Saw a documentary about him a month or so ago about a bloke in a similar situation, poor bastard got seriously stitched up by the woman he was with who was a mule to pay off a loan shark. Those girls knew exactly what they were doing, not buying any of their "we're innocent" crap. They felt the persuasion of the money they could make and now they're paying for it.
  12. This pretty much sums it up for me too tbh. I always expected this years season tickets to go up but was still pretty miffed when they did knowing full well how much the new TV deal was worth to the club. As it stands I'm fortunate enough that I can afford a ST, but I'm reaching the point where I'm questioning whether its value for money anymore.
  13. Only 20 years old? Christ he must of had a tough paper round.
  14. What a crock of ****. To get in to the Scotland team you pretty much need to be a) a professional footballer b) Scottish. Attributes don't matter as their team is so crap. To say that Fox is merely an unfairly appointed whipping boy is pure ignorance, his performances even when we were in the Championship have been clearly not good enough for a LB. He'd be fine as a winger as he clearly likes to attack and always look for the "hollywood pass" but his positional play and defensive sense as a LB are far short of decent enough for the Premier League.
  15. Yeah he missed a sitter of a header against them, I remember people getting on his back about it, myself included if I'm being honest. However it later transpired as we know that his mother died about the time of the move so it was understandable if he wasn't bang on form.
  16. Are players immeadietly entitled to a testimonial or does it have to be awarded by their club? Pretty sure Matt Oakley was entitled to one but he left before he had the opportunity.
  17. Le Tiss last goal against Arsenal. I've never been amongst a celebration like that since. Crouch last minute penalty against the s****s. The Coventry game to get promotion, particulary when the first and second goals went in.
  18. Can understand Villa as a C game as they have been tosh for a few years, to see West Brom alongside them though whilst Sunderland and Cardiff are in the B category is rather odd. Someone on fb suggested that Cardiff may be a category B due to the numbers they travel in, and the few extra £ per ticket paying for the extra policing required for the Neanderthal sheep****gers.
  19. No exaggeration, that looks absolutely ****ing epic.
  20. This whole sorry saga is only going to end one way unfortunately for Gazza. The only people I really feel sorry for are his family, and those that donated money to get him into rehab in the US, only for him to go and throw it back in their faces.
  21. Was hoping he'd be talking in English by now....
  22. Would have sold a bucketload if they'd chosen that design. A pleasant protest indeed, until NC does something mental like banning anyone in stripes from SMS.
  23. This is what annoys me the most about this whole sorry saga, the fact the kit was £42? last season, and this year they give us season ticket holders 10% off to make out we're getting a bit of a return on our loyalty. Then they put the shirt up to £50 making it £45 for us and we still end up paying more than last season. Absolute bunch of ****s. By the by, I thought some sort of law was put in place about 10 years ago regarding how often a football club could change their shirt following a bit of uproar over Man U having about 10 kits in 3 years?
  24. That soccer direct site also let you add an embroided badge, and a sponsor, and it still only comes to £19.25!
  25. The pictures in that article just reminded me how class our Championship promotion shirt was.
