Carling football shirt amnesty, free 15/16 Saints kit!
bpsaint replied to bpsaint's topic in The Saints
Does anywhere else in town do shirt printing, I know JJB used to but they're now gone obviously as I assume you could take last seasons shirt to be printed somewhere with say Clyne or Alderweireld on the back then go swap for a new one. -
Carling are in town this Saturday, and are giving fans the opportunity to swap any recent Saints kit with a players name printed on it for the new 15/16 shirt, and there doesn't seem to be any catch. According to their Facebook account they'll even take unprinted shirts if it's late in the day and they have stocks remaining! https://www.facebook.com/events/729435577183125/

i don't get it either, there's only 31 miles between St Mary's and Dean Court, yet 33 between Anfield and Old Trafford which is considered one of the biggest derbies in this country. I hope our players show Bournemouth a bit more respect than some of our fans do.

Loved hearing the fixtures on the radio this morning, catering to the two biggest teams on the south coast, and all the glamour ties and dates. Then as a little side note, Pompey will start at home to Dagenham and Redbridge. Who the **** is laughing now indeed!

Fixtures out tomorrow - who will we get first game?
bpsaint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
I reckon there's a good chance of our game being televised. Along with Bompey Villa, Utd Spurs and Chelsea Swansea. -
To be honest I doubt you'd need a membership to guarantee tickets for those games. The first home match of any season struggles to sell out so as long as you are on the database and call up the day they go on sale you should be fine. As far as the away game goes, despite the fact we have very good travelling support I'd imagine a trip abroad will be a stretch for a lot of people.

Is she stood behind the blue rhino? Oh wait you mean.....

Krueger: The Europa League is not a negative for Southampton
bpsaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
This. A Friday night on the **** watching Saints then straight into town afterwards, plus the joyous feeling of having a whole weekend off ahead of you. As opposed to MNF, which is just a bit ****e really. Chances are domestic cup competitions will be sacrificed if we progress through to the Europa group stages, does any know if teams involved in Europe still bypass the earliest round of the league cup available to us? -
Regardless of what it is called, it's still the anthem of the mutants down the road
-
It did last time I heard it
-
Our guildhall clock tower plays the Pompey chimes every hour, so this feels like sweet revenge to me!
-
Probably worth mentioning to our fishy friends that they too actually qualified for Europe by default in 2010, but because their clubs finances were such a joke they weren't allowed to participate. Watch them try and come back from that.

I'm in the Premier inn on Portland street, with the Mrs but had a cracking day on the ****, loving this city already.

Was just having a look on the Mayflower website and came across this http://www.mayflower.org.uk/Whats_on/TheDayWeWonTheCup2016 Taking place exactly 40 years to the day we shocked the world at Wembley, Lawrie and the remainder of the team will be there to relive the occasion. Sounds like a brilliant night!

Was anyone stupid enough to 'boycott' the game today ?
-
Mane was pure class today, the pass leading to the 4th was immense. That second by Long though

Watched the match back after getting home as I'd recorded it and it seemed like they had drowned the crowd noise out during the analysis at half time, it was so much louder than that in the stadium and James got relentless abuse the whole time he was out there. Not a fan of the standing around the table thing they do, seems quite amateurish compared to Sky Sports.

Love that the referee got that so wrong but still gave a penalty, the media love in for the head bin dipper today was getting nauseating. as has been said if Liverpool actually concentrated on winning the game instead of giving Gerrard a fairytale moment as if it's a bloody testimonial they might have got something out the match. Must be said too fair bloody play to Pardew, he's made Palace a very difficult team to beat and they look a decent side nowadays. Reckon they could really push on next season and surprise a few people. Magpies fans deserve to go down for their treatment of him, if it hadn't been for his purple patch towards the end of his reign they would have been relegated weeks ago.

Or maybe not

The Long Overdue Pointless 2015/16 (Adidas) Kit Thread
bpsaint replied to The9's topic in The Saints
I don't mind the shirt, it's just a shame that year after year the mock ups on here look so good that I'm always underwhelmed when the real shirt is unveiled! -
Second season in a row not having a decent back up has cost us points, I'm astounded that nobody at the club bothered to address the issue this season. It's been said that we'll get a loan in next season as cover for Forster, but I still think we need to unload Gazza and buy a proven keeper as well.
-
Completely average player who regularly fails to add anything to the team. On the whole I would say RK's signings have been pretty crap.
-
****ing abysmal. For the second season in a row lack of decent back up between the sticks has cost us, we all knew it would happen if Forster got crocked, why didn't RK and co. have a decent no.2 in place. oh and why the hell is Davis still getting a game? If he'd put in a stronger tackle the first goal wouldn't have happened.

1-0 Norwich, nice tidy finish, take note Steve Davis
