Rochdale 2 - 0 Southampton - Post Match Reaction
bpsaint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Was always going to be a big ask to expect the team to travel all that way on a Tuesday and get a win considering the run of games we've had lately. Still its not all doom and gloom,it remains in our own hands and while i'm disappointed not to have at least a point from tonight a win Saturday would set things right again. In some ways losing might not be that bad a thing, its reminds everyone, players, staff and fans alike, that the promotion race isn't over following the win at Orient, and we shouldn't rest on our laurels, theres still a lot of hard work to do between now and May 7th. -
Not listed on mypsp.eu , and they're pretty concise so i'd say no its radio only tonight.
-
Hope we lose to be honest, just to heap more misery on clueless Capello and ****** Terry. Really gutted Bale isn't playing, would have been a great battle with Johnson.
-
Sure its not Reservoir Dogs?

Bitterly disappointed to end the game with a point after taking the lead, and certainly feels like 2 points dropped rather than one gained. But as others have said its not the end of the world, and its still in our hands, if the squad have the mental strength to rise to the challenge. Very concerned about the injuries to Lallana and the Ox though.

More cringeworthy than singing "we are going up" when theres still 11 games to go,or that bloody "EIEIEIO,up the football league we go" song?
-
That sweden kit looks class, would have loved that instead of the black away kit this season. I'll miss the sash when its gone but am looking forward to going back to our usual stripes though. Just my opinion but i'd like it if we regulary went from stripes to a different design then back to stripes again. Theres only so much you can do with a stripey shirt and some of our kits from the 80's are amongst my favourites, particulary the keegan one.

"We don't care about you, Don't care about youuuuuuuuu, We are Southampton, We don't care about you" Great chant, our support sounds brilliant on the radio. Lets get the killer third please lads!

Come on you Saints, put this 'rivalry' to bed.

Baffled by some of the stick at times, everytime I met him he was very friendly and a nice guy. Beatts lost his father just a couple of weeks ago, so can imagine the pain of losing a best friend, also a father of two young boys, is incredibly hard to take.
-
Nice little tribute that,poor Deano.
-
Its all starting to get a bit nawty, I reckon they'll be at least two red cards before the 90 is up.
-
As promised I have started uploading some videos of Deano scoring for us,the first one is here: Keep an eye on my channel for more soon.

Deanoooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

I stand corrected said the man in the orthopaedic shoes. I thought with the way it had been cutting up they'd done a Wembley and just laid fresh turf down.
-
As good as it looks on tv i'd say the pitch is the worst i've seen it since we moved to SMS. They skimmed the top soil and laid fresh turf down pre season instead of seeding it and its been cutting up bad ever since. That said though, its still one of the best pitches in the FL.
-
My first ever away game that, always thought highly of him since then. I'll get some videos of Deano uploaded to youtube in the next few days.

Awful news,36 is no age at all. Dean was a class above from 99-01 and was by far one of my favourite players, would rank him along side Killer in terms of ability, would love to have seen them play together. Thoughts to his friends and family.

My post wasn't intended as a comparison of scores,it was in response to the claim that nobody could have led to a win at Hartlepool on a Tuesday night in crap weather, even though Pards managed it last year with much the same group of players which makes the claim null and void.

Yes. That little tinpot club has been a thorn in our side these 2 seasons, time we sent them a step closer to league two with a hammering.

No ifs, no buts, no excuses. I have faith in NA and he needs to send out a team on Saturday that annihilates Swindon. We showed the world what we are capable of against Man U, and our performances since then have been sub-standard. If there was ever a chance to mentally and physically show that we deserve to be promoted then this is it,and I won't be happy with anything less than a clear 3 goal victory.
