  1. I mentioned it, and who said I’m a bloke, typical assuming sexist privileged male. That’s a joke btw. The reason I’m fed up with the whole taking the knee thing is because I believe it’s become an empty gesture now, at first it was quite a powerful thing to see and it really felt like maybe we were on the cusp on seeing some real change. However the phrase BLM whilst intended to be a force for good has been linked to the political party/ideology of BLM that stand for some very dangerous things, and it’s those links that have if anything created a bigger divide then ever. I genuinely don’t believe the UK to be a racist place, I believe we’re very tolerable of different beliefs and ethnicities, if anything a little too much at times whereby we protect the minorities at the expense of the majority creating divides and tension. There is a serious issue with black on black crime in this country however, and I’m fed up of reading online - social media etc that it’s all the fault of the white privileged male, that we’re somehow holding them back, causing them to behave in this way. I had the misfortune of seeing the video of that kid getting stabbed by a black guy in Hyde park last week, knifed in the belly as if it was nothing, and somehow there will be a victim mentality to the suspect I’m sure. Antrimsaint called me a gammon twat because he hasn’t got more than a single brain cell for a reasoned debate, but he is indicative of the problem online now, whereby if you don’t toe the snowflake party line they respond with insults and assume you to be some kind of sexist, racist, EDL pig. I’m none of those things, I will treat my fellow man with the politeness and respect that I would like to be treated with myself, regardless of ethnicity, gender or race. In an ideal world we would all share that view but as we know it’s not an ideal world. As stated earlier some people need to look inward before blaming others for their actions. Im fed up of hearing that because I just happen to be a white male, that I’m by default a racist, and somehow it’s because of me that black teens in London are walking about carrying guns and machetes, and fucking people up as if their own lives don’t matter. Stop taking the knee, stop creating divides, treat each other with respect, and actually clamp down on real racists and maybe we’ll get somewhere.
  2. Congratulations on your fantastic display of reasoned debate, I won’t stoop to your level of intelligence but stand by my original view - taking the knee is no longer making any difference to the situation in this country, and the so called “minorities” need to sort their own shit out instead of blaming us. The recent shooting of the BLM activist by some random black drug dealers, as well as the gangs of blacks attacking police in Brixton aren’t helping their cause.
  3. Virtue signalling that has lost all meaning, it should have been retired at the end of last season. Theres still serious amounts of black on black crime happening in this country, stabbings and shootings, it’s about time they look inward rather than blaming “white privilege” for their behaviour. Black lives do seem to matter to us, but not to themselves.
  4. Shame, was half hoping he’d gone on to replace Ralph after the inevitable poor start to next season. Be interesting to see if the Everton/Howe thing happens, especially after the failure at Burnley caused by homesickness and his wife’s inability to settle up north. That being said going from living in Bournemouth to living in Burnley would tip most people over the edge. Seeing the Everton fans crying after Carlo was picked off by a bigger fish sure is funny after the way they behaved when Koeman jumped ship
  5. He had a decent season tbf, although it’s clear to every man and his dog that midfield is one area we don’t need reinforcements. (*unless we somehow manage to bin off Redmond, then we need a replacement)
  6. Espanyol at St Mary’s perhaps? Anniversary of the first game and all that…
  7. Oh yeah so it does - I thought the pin striped stripes and red and white collar are meant to be a throwback to our first kit at SMS with the image of the cantilevers on the back and the stadium inside etc
  8. That harks back to when we moved to St Mary’s in 01 as that’s what was on our first kit, as was the V neck collar with the red and white stripe
  9. Nice….. hopefully it’s striped on the back too Edit:just seen that back, shame.
  10. Some cracking penalties in that shootout. Always nice to see United lose and see the salty tears of their plastic fans. Happy to see Emery lift the trophy after the raw deal he got from Arsenal fans and the UK press. Would definitely say he’s had the last laugh.
  11. So the club are happy to spend £75k a week on an aging benchwarmer that hasn’t exactly set our world alight, yet they’ve got the cheek to charge a load of long term ST holders an extra £300 a season for a padded seat in the Kingsland to add to their match day “experience”. Cunts.
  12. Koeman wasn’t it? I know he had Sammy Lee, and his brother Erwin, plus that other Dutch guy that really didn’t want to leave can’t remember his name
  13. Beaten by the better team and manager. Far too many plodders and Championship level fodder in our side. Until we actually bring in reinforcements of PL quality this is how it’s going to be for us for years to come. Annoyingly if we could just cut out the sheer number of stupid mistakes and poor lapses of concentration we could be a half decent side.
  14. Shocking keeping
  15. They played the highlights because they always play the highlights of the last time they met whoever it is they’re facing at the King Power that particular day. Even still I can’t believe so many of our fans are a bunch of precious whingers that they get so upset about a little bit of mind games from an opponent.
  16. Shame to see him go on a free but he’s more than paid back his transfer fee over the years. Decent player, good servant, and seemed a nice guy. Best for both parties for him to move on it seems, all the best to him.
  17. Bit gutted for our Nige tbh, him making the playoffs at the skates expense would have just been too hilarious a story.
  18. Surely they won’t implode again and miss out on a Champions League spot for a second season in a row will they?
  19. Shambles if true, as stated he got the ball and McCarthy would have got there first anyway. Does Vest get an extra match ban if it gets rejected? Did I make that up or was that a thing?
  20. Fucking hell - here we go again
  21. Just been reading through all the comments from Villa fans on Twitter, sounds like he’s had a really decent season for them, fair play to him proving his doubters like Ralph wrong. Unfortunate timing that it coincides with being the same day we hear another of our LB prospects McQueen is unlikely to play football again. All the while we get to watch Bertrand looking largely disinterested jogging up and down the wing with no competition to push him for a place in the team.

    Danny Ings

True, but it’s not the Man City/Spurs dream move he’d have wanted. Bit like Fonte

    Danny Ings

‘Tis but a blip, they’ll be back to their usual selves very soon I’m sure

    Danny Ings

If he signed a new contract, and managed to stay fit next season then there won’t be a relegation battle. It’s no coincidence his lack of fitness and goals this season has coincided with our god awful run of form. His 20 odd goals in 2019-20 papered over some big fucking cracks, and we got lucky to have such a prolific season out of Ings. I really can’t see the likes of Spurs gambling on him now, however you dress it up there’s no doubt that 5 injuries in a season is more than just bad luck. He’ll probably end up backing himself into a corner and end up somewhere like West Ham.
