Finally got around to watching the Sky/HBO miniseries Chernobyl over the weekend, and it was one of the finest pieces of TV I’ve had the pleasure of watching. There’s a bit of artistic license used for the sake of story telling, but it’s ultimately a horrifyingly accurate account of the disaster. Like a lot of people I knew the basics around the incident, but the levels the Soviets went to in an attempt to play it down for the sake of national pride and the long term effects on the surrounding area and thousands of innocent people is just another disturbing part of the Soviet Union legacy.

When I used it before I worked out that on a price for price comparison the amount of food you got for your money was similar between supermarkets and muscle food, where the difference lies however was the quality was far superior from musclefood and the meat was lean and not pumped full of water.

Guys bit of advice needed if any of you have kids - obviously we’re in lockdown at the moment and me and the wife want to get out and let the little one (15 months) run around whilst we get some exercise by all going for a walk. Is this allowed but frowned upon? What have other people been doing? I had been thinking of driving out to the forest and trying to get as far away from anyone else as so that we can be out as a family guilt free whilst not risking anyone’s health. Don’t want to look like a family out and about not giving a **** but as we live in an apartment the lack of garden for her to run around in and the lack of contact with anyone else is getting to her.

i work for Travis Perkins (Benchmarx) and am now on the Furlough scheme as of this morning. All seems to be pretty straightforward so far, we’re getting the 80% from the government and TP are making up the other 20% for the first 4 weeks - if it continues past that we get the 80% from the government and the company are paying 10%. They’re taking 5 days annual leave in the first period and we can take a further 5 if we want should the second 4 weeks come into play. They don’t want everyone to return to work with a whole years annual leave allocation to squeeze into 7 or so months, although the Business Secretary is expected to introduce new rules on that today so companies can carry it over.

So much for the hope that it was levelling off or decreasing

Loved The Killers since they first hit our shores in 2003/04 - the fact that they are due to play our home was pretty special to me so naturally I’ll be gutted when it inevitably gets cancelled - despite the statement the band put out last week. As with The joiners I expect Engine Rooms and The 1865 to struggle massively with no financial help, be a shame if any of them have to shut as it’s nice to have a choice of venues in Southampton at last.

**** Liverpool - makes up for the teams that suffered because of Heysel.
-
Knowing Saints they’ll tell us that the value of the missed matches will be taken off next seasons ST value, only way to prevent the inevitable huge drop in sales.

Appreciate your opinion on this but for me that’s simply not true. There’s have been games where St Mary’s has been absolutely rocking, louder than anything we managed at The Dell - Wolves in 03, Norwich in 05, Sheff Utd in 08, Coventry in 2012 to name a few, not to mention the games against Pompey. The fact is the poor form of the last 4 years; and general apathy and feeling of like turning up is a chore is what has created the less than intimidating atmosphere at home of late, not to mention the general day tripper Premier League experience the club are trying to create.

So basically Sharp has the same number of goals as Long, Adams and Obafemi COMBINED this season, but is only worth having if you want to fight to stay up!?
-
What did you expect us to do faced with over an hour of 10 vs 11, go all out for a win? Despite the extra man I wouldn’t say they were all over us, we were clearly lacking up top and I’d have taken a point given the circumstances. To lose to a stupid error, against a team that can’t even buy a goal makes it all the harder to take. 9th loss at home this season, and some utter helmets like Instant Classic have to nerve to criticise those of us that turn up whilst they stream from the comfort of their armchair. Can’t wait for the season to end
-
Totally undeserved. All that battle and completely let down by Valery.
-
Those of you criticising us fans, actually in attendance, without the benefit of replays, getting swept up in the VAR shenanigans can quite frankly go **** yourselves. you don’t get to criticise from your armchair
-
The no hand shake thing is so bloody ridiculous when you’ve got players jostling each other at corners and falling on top of each other from tackles etc.
-
West Ham fans were singing “top of the league and you still don’t sing” once Liverpool had gone 3-2 up. The myths about Anfield are almost as bad as Fratton.
-
Shame the question of why we give away fans more than we have to for cup games never came up.
-
They’re definitely proving a tough nut to crack - fully expect them to be set up totally different to this on Saturday though. If Liverpool turn this around for the win it could have a massive demoralising effect of West Ham (I hope)

Christ Glasgow have you been on the sauce? He’s part of the deadwood IMO, so average and we should be looking for more from a CM and Captain.
-
Awful isn’t it - imagine having to listen to it for 90 minutes. What was with her stupid comment about Vydra waiting 500 days for a goal and then two come along at once - don’t think that counts when they’re separate games the dopey bint.

As I said in the post match thread earlier there’s nobody else I’d want at RB other than Prowsey, he’s had both Zaha and Grealish in his pocket now.
-
A repeat of our first trip to their awful ground would be nice, and with the way we play away from home there’s no reason we couldn’t win comfortably. Don’t know how likely it is that West Ham AND Bournemouth could both go down but here’s hoping we can help with that.

Post-match reaction: Saints 2-0 Aston Villa
bpsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Villa were probably the worst team I’ve seen at home this season and we still huffed and puffed to get a result. Djenepo goes from the sublime to the ridiculous it seems, Smallbone had a solid enough debut, Stephens was a rock, and there’s nobody else in our squad I think I’d rather have at Right Back than JWP. Our fans were good today, well done all. -
Can’t help but wonder how the EFL Cup final might have gone with Caceres at the back instead of Stephens

More VAR inconsistency tonight as Harry Maguire escapes a red card for kicking out. The technology is great but **** me it’s meant to stop these debates.
