  1. Some of his selections lately have been up there with George Burley levels of ridiculous!
  2. Can’t add much that hasn’t already been said - Ralph needs to take the blame for that, first half was an utter shambles, and how Vest continues to get picked is beyond me. Listening to Solent when I got back to the car Merrington was rightfully laying into Ralph for just chatting rubbish in his post match interview instead of holding his hands up to the poor team selection.

  4. My sentiments exactly. RIP Leon
  5. Bit disappointed he managed to make it as far as the ground without any of our yoof giving him a good beating to be honest, it’s the least he deserves.
  6. DeMarcus Beasley - midfielder from the MLS that seemed to drag on and on and we were close to sealing it before it fell apart. Signed for Man City a few years later and turned out to be a bit crap after all, he even scored against us in the cup ironically.
  7. Andrew Davis - not sure he was even here long enough to be a one season wonder but made a huge difference at the back.
  8. 29/30 - annoyed about the 1 I missed as it was away to a championship side and I was bloody well there.
  9. Watching the Old Firm Derby on Sunday I was struck by a curious notion, that i would have liked Forster in goal for this match. He’s one of only a few players that I don’t think would bottle it at Fatpipes, and the mutants in the Fratton end are a bunch of choirboys compared to what he’s played in front of.
  10. S****s away if they get through please!!
  11. Great result that to kick start our season, we need to look at the bigger picture that there’s new players trying to get used to the pace of this league and a manager trying to work out the best system to play them in. If we can play crap and win then I can’t wait till things really click for us. Some interesting selection choices admittedly - JWP playing RB when we had Cedric on the bench for example. Still think we need a proper leader on the pitch, particularly at the back, and I don’t look at Hojbjerg as captain material personally. Pretty clear that it’s going to take a few transfer windows to recover from the Les Reed era and establish ourselves as a solid mid table team.
  12. August home games have always been traditionally shy of a full house - what with holidays etc. Add in to the mix the ridiculous individual match price, let alone the cost of parents want to take their kids and it’s no surprise. No harm in someone calling to try and flog the last few hundred remaining, if they manage to convince just a few that were sat on the fence then the calls have paid for themselves. I dare say say some people are waiting for pay day too....
  13. Was the Adrian injury just mind games from Klopp? Shame there’s no Danso, no faith in Vestergaard. Not much inspiration on that bench either.
  14. If you’re happy to pay the £5 then the little industrial yard next to the Coalporters Rowing Club is a decent bet. Failing that the industrial estate over Northam bridge where Screwfix, Royal Mail etc are is free although some of the business started ticketing cars last season so keep an eye out for any parking restrictions
  15. Does the North/South divide only apply for the second round, and why did Cardiff and Fulham get a bye into the second round?
  16. Lorries overtaking other lorries on the motorway, creating a massive queue of traffic in their wake as one speed limited tosser fights to get in front of another speed limited tosser who could slow down a couple of mph to help everyone out but would rather be a ****.
  17. Interesting that people claim he was never a Premier League quality striker. Aside from the fact he was 7 years younger than he is now who honestly thought Lambert would push on the way he did, or Fonte, or Schneiderlin...etc etc. There’s every chance Sharp could have made the step up, he has the one quality any striker needs to succeed and that’s knowing where the back of the net is. I really hope he has a great season, was a huge part of our promotion and deserves a great reception on his return.
  18. Vestergaard has all of the attributes needed to be a top level CB, there’s only one issue though - he’s **** As for Stephens we know he’s not cut out for the Prem. I don’t know how he would fare as CDM with the cover of two CB’s behind him but he is like Davenport mkII in defence. Do we have a First Team defence coach at Saints? Serious question. Is that a thing? I know there’s striker coaches, we need to some decent ex pros on the case, what’s Killer up to these days.
  19. Watching the goals back again they look even worse second time around - what the hell was Vestergard doing with that first, embarrassing Sunday league defending. Bit harsh on Gunn, you often see shots go through keepers legs. Marking for for the second is a joke, and how the hell did they finish from that angle for the third, I’ll agree that Gunn should have done better with that one.
  20. Embarrassment - absolute dog****.
  21. The voice of St Mary’s - terrible news. He was a small part of the match day experience that made the stadium feel like home.
  22. Be interesting to see how many people turn up in the eBay knock offs tomorrow - that’ll be a tad embarrassing for the club.
  23. Used to prefer listening to Peter Hood on Power FM back during the Dell days - his commentary of MLT’s winner against Arsenal still gives me goosebumps.
  24. For how little I wear the shirt I might buy one of those knock offs and see if it actually turns up. Probably made in the same factory anyway!!
  25. Could have kept Benitez, chose Steve Bruce. Their fans are livid and rightly so, what the hell is Ashley thinking. Not really been keeping tabs on the ins and outs at other clubs this window, seems Palace fans are kicking off at their owners over the lack of activity, losing to Barnet like that hasn’t helped matters pre-season friendly or not. Outside bet for the drop this year maybe?
