  1. Despite all of the dross I’ve had to watch at St Mary’s of late I’m strangely optimistic about this one. Please don’t let me down Saints
  2. I remember watching us play Derby off the park in one of his first games and thinking “**** me, this could be the start of something special”. I guess I was right in some ways, a special kind of crap!

  4. He’s kind of right though isn’t he - and with respect just because he cares passionately about who is running our club doesn’t deserve to be told to go and support Pompey. We all care about Saints in different ways. Besides that truly crap run club is owned by a billionaire outspending most of the league on player wages...
  5. Doubt it - any realists on here just get shouted down with vitriol.
  6. If Gunn or Forster had ****ed up that punch that lead to the equaliser there’d be no end of abuse. Absolute shocker from McCarthy
  7. Exactly like 2004/5
  8. Particularly when Mali last played on Sunday. No excuse not to be playing Djenepo really.
  9. Boufal and Djenepo on the bench whilst Obafemi starts.WTF
  10. Pointless doing pre match threads nowadays - instead of trying to predict the line up and formation we should just guess how many points we’re going to get each week. I’m going for zero.
  11. Looking forward to a decent bit of entertainment at St Mary’s for a change!!
  12. Never understood why people think kicking towards the chapel second half makes any difference, the majority of our biggest wins at St Mary’s have been when shooting towards that end.

    2005 v 2020

That 05 team would beat this lot about 3-0 I reckon. They were crap at the back too but could create and score goals.
  14. Needless to say my angry typing was auto corrected with hilarious results.
  15. The poor bloke was playing LB tbf- no wonder he looked so average. Regardless of how **** the players are I’d expect a bit of fight from the team but we just look all over the shop, Ralph and the whole backroom staff need to go. He makes George Burley look like a tactical genius. Absolutey hate going to St Mary’s now, the whole match day experience is disappointing crap, to watch a bunch of ****. Can not wait for the day JWP leaves this club and I, the epitome of how far we’ve fallen that we his guy was wearing the Captains armband today. The whole defence is awful, and I’m still dumbfounded some people claimed Romeu is better than big vic or Morgan. Toasters the lot of them, do they even give a ****.
  16. Dont know how it sounded from the comfort of your armchair but it was pretty damn loud here in the ground. Ralph and the whole backroom staff need to go I’m afraid - we are so so poor.
  17. Better than expected perhaps, but we still lost, and it’s still the same shower that made us a laughing stock last week against Leicester. Build on this next week and get the 3 points against Everton and perhaps we’ll look back on today as a turning point, I’m just fed up of being let down by my team.
  18. Standard raise their game performance against a top side by us only to mess it up next week against Everton. Another false dawn beckons....
  19. Put £50 on city, liverpool, Brighton and Sheffield united all to win - cashed out as soon as liverpool equalised to earn my stake plus 10% back and that ****ing happens. Scouse ****s.
  20. Was alright for the last 20 minutes or so, still felt like City could easily have gone up a gear or two if needed though. They won’t be anywhere near as forgiving on Saturday
  21. The only way I see us getting out of it this year is if by some miracle we manage to bring in AT LEAST 6 players in the January window that have Premier League experience, and are players we don’t only bring in with one eye on what profit they can return. Couple that with limping along and getting enough points to remain in touching distance of the team in 17th between now and January, then maybe, just maybe we’ll have a chance.
  22. Once the bewilderment of Friday died down it started to hurt a lot, and still does. That kind of result can be enough to put people off for good. I’m tied by my Season Ticket, but I’ve literally fallen out of love with the match day experience. I’ve never felt such disconnect to a Saints team in my life, I genuinely wouldn’t give a **** if any of the players in our squad never featured again. We need about 5 or 6 new signings AT LEAST to get anywhere near a midtable side, and need to stop patching up the starting XI with half decent players when there team around them is so ****. Heard Adam Blackmore saying how Jonny Evans had only cost Leicester £3.5 million, and what a stark contrast it was to the £17 million paid for Hoedt. We need to get smarter in the transfer market as there’s players out there that could turn us around, we just need to focus on bringing in players that will keep us strong for few years without worrying about how much money we can sell them on for.
  23. Great goal J-Rod
  24. Hence why I said very rarely. Leicester are fortunate to have owners with a bit of ambition and are willing to invest heavily for success, they’re the exact opposite of us.
  25. Thats true, there’s always someone pretending to be outraged and accuse someone of some kind of ‘ism’. Usual woke culture nonsense. Gao is a chinaman the same way I’m an Englishman, and quite frankly I don’t want a chinaman in charge of our club. It very rarely ends well for clubs under Far Eastern ownership, as they only use it as a vanity project, particularly our leader who doesn’t appear to have a pot to **** in, and they often show no emotional bond with their team.
