Evo Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 As far as I can see from Trousers' new avatar, we are being taken over by a consortium of Ally McCoist and Jasper Carrott. But keep it under your hat. You aint seen me, right?
Deano6 Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 I've heard the man behind the money is Paul Polman.
Weston Saint Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 So, what do you know? You have to be joking. I am keeping my own counsel from now on as far as takeovers are concerned.
St David Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 I was told that Theo Pothetis (ex Millwall Chairman) was part of the original Pinnacle money group, but not kown if he was the final big backer behind Mickey Fulla****aka. He's also part owner of Walton & Hersham F.C. Prob Bull but was passed on to me today from someone I work with that has north London Family ties. Can't see why he would make it up and not like it matters now I guess. Im not ITK as I know nothing else other then this 'throw away' conversation that lasted all of 3 mins. buctootim Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 I've heard the man behind the money is Paul Polman. Bit left field. Cant see Unilever wanting their CEO to be tied up with a football club - too tribal - hurts sales.
SfcPhil Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 I know that the Swiss bid is very serious and they have british investors as backers.
Polaroid Saint Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 I know that the Swiss bid is very serious and they have british investors as backers. oh dear. Swiss famous for accute financing, utmost discretion, immaculate paperwork, flawless continental efficiency and superb attention to detail. British famous for bullish chancers that spout their gobs off about how much money they have (or haven't) got. swiss backers and british bidders would be more re-assuring! ;-)

That would certainly fit in with the household name we were told. If we'd have known, we could have just pitched up with a bid on Dragon's Den. Peter Jones might have gone halves with him! That's "Paphitis", and Michelle from this board posted a few weeks ago that she actually asked him to his face to take Saints over (repeatedly, in Cyprus I think it was, on a works incentive holiday thingy), and he wasn't interested.
