no idea, then?

So, no one has ANY idea who, or when, the new manager will be appointed?

It's quite nice, really. Going back to the good ol days before the internet when you heard the news on the regional tv or radio!

It seems that the only ITK people under the new regime are the owner and his advisors.

I also think some of it is linked to our division 3 status.

I don't think anyone in the national press really care about division 3 teams. Thus no digging around, no high profile money making agents to make stories up, less blood thristy players cos they know they're all sh*t.

Nice isn't it.

think people are going on who they want rather than who is likely.

The bookies are following that.

T Adams is the exception but guess thats come from his agent.

Makes it interesting and agree no-one here has a clue.

If they announce at Ajax game will be great if its popular choice like Coppell, Keegan or Strachen but if its someone most have not heard of could be anti-climax!

If its someone currently employed then it is almost certain to be in the press before its agreed, as soon as we ask formal permission to talk.

As they say they have the short list, and are speaking to people on it, I suspect they are people out of work or overseas.

It would be car-crash tv if it's someone unknown / unpopular:

"and the new manager IS........... The Yorkshire Ripper"

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

A bit like when Mr Lowe was all cagey and then announced Stuart Gray had been given the managers job full time. What a let down that was!

hahaha

i will never forget when it was announced that wiggles got the job..

no one could believe it was for real..

WGS will be announced or paraded before the Ajax game.

He's home today but like I have said Wgs will be our new manager but I'm not sure on the dennis wise role as it's puzzling me unless he was 2nd choice if Strachan backed out.

Have also heard we have some nice fresh faces coming in on Friday.

Hopefully the new regime will mean an end to the ITKers, who, let's face it were clearly far from it. Of course there is a sense of urgency to get the new manager in place and without doubt this activity is going on behind the scenes and let's hope it stays that way. ML is a proven businessman of outstanding success and we have to trust that he and his team are going about this in the right manner. Let's get someone in but let's make sure it's the right person to help us going forwards. Another few days won't make any difference so all the worrying and agitating on here should be put to one side.

I've only been on this site since April, but in my experience so far (in what has been quite a turbulent time) the only pieces of information that have proved to be 100% correct have only arrived on this site AFTER it has appeared on SSN, the Echo or the OS.

The main interest of this site is speculation, argument/debate - and the publication of facts after they have appeared elsewhere (which is useful for those that don't have readily available access to the other forms of info).

Sometimes information does get here before SSN Echo etc but you are right not very often.

'Fresh' as in young/untried or 'fresh' as in sh*t hot experienced players who are way too good for this league? Ta :)

No idea who they are or even what they are, I expect they are in for talks and I would like to think they will be paraded.

What a day Saturday could be as the announcer introduces our new billionaire, Gordon and three (guessing) new players.

Who would get the loudest cheer out of the five if they was louis saha, ryan giggs and raul (hehe - dream on)

Anyone remember the time we signed 5 players together, I only remember Scott marshall from it, who was the others?

I disagree with that! Whatever information the Echo prints, only appears AFTER it has been on this site. New Shirt on Ebay anyone??

That is a myth perpetuated by posters on here. Sure, they lift pieces of interesting information from here regarding speculation and the like, but when it comes to cast iron facts (like Pinnacle pulling out, or Liebherr completing the deal and in all likelihood the new manager being announced) it will be posted here by somebody after they have read it in the Echo or on SSN or on the OS - and that is a fact ;-)

The majority is first reported there but there have been several bits that have been on here first and echo a day later.
Isn't that just matter of the publication timing though? As I said, I have only been looking since April so I may well have missed a good example - but in my experience so far the "momentous" bombshells are always lifted from elsewhere and put here. I still enjoy the content on here though. Speculative news is better than no news.

OS site and Solent have got better.

Echo is pretty good.

I have lost alot of faith in the Echo over the whole takeover period. They have come out with absolute bulls*** half the time.

Ifyou've only been around since April then you've missed a number of exclusives/revelations appearing on here before they have been public knowledge.

For example, I leaked James Beattie's new blonde hair style years ago, as well as Hassan Kachloul's choice of swimwear in Ayia Napa and Wigley's birthaday party at the The King and I restaurant.

I think it was a saga that they wanted to run and run to sell newspapers but some of the info was interesting and not posted on here before hand

I used to find the Echo was often nearly always right with their facts and stories, but like I said they have been getting worse.

Unfortunately at the end of the day they are a business, and in order to keep their business running they need new and interesting stories.

Scott Marshall, Mark Paul, David Howells, James Beattie, Stuart Ripley and Mark Hughes.

Damn, there goes my "I'm always right" mantra, got Paul Hughes mixed up with Mark Paul - mind you neither of them made a start for us!!!!!!!

Think I have Paul Hughes on the brain though after a great double date many moons ago!!!!! Did you know he can the guitar very well??

Which in turn was rather similar to Lowe's next appointment in October 2001 when there was a lukewarm reception for news of the arrival of a certain relegated and sacked reject from Coventry. ;)

Cynics will say one failed manager taking over from a sacked manager is not ideal and underlines the dearth of young managerial talent in the English leagues.

Solent have gone somewhat quiet on Saints since the takeover was announced. The new incarnation of Radio Hants, 'Play FM', is no better IMO and not as good as RH anyway (I used to like Brothers chat on Saints etc.).

Interestingly Solent this morning said we hope to make an appointment by Saturday, and also South Today implied similar last night, in contrast to them both recently saying maybe this week, maybe not. It's a fine semantic difference and maybe I'm clutching at straws, but ......

Maybe we should ask Lynam. ;-) I see he reappeared on 'the Oldknow in no hurry' thread, and people are still taking him seriously!
