"The two guys up front ran themselves into the ground". Counter to what some are posting about Saga being lazy and not trying because he wants to leave. If we can cut out some of the lump and chase, these guys will be a lot more effective and last longer.

Strange how we can see a game totally different. I thought he was sh!te.

I thought he worked very hard but not a lot came off for him. he didn;t get a single decision off the ref all day either. I don;t really believe anyone deserves to be classified as sh!te unless they really don't try and are completely useless. BWP was the benchmark for sh!te.

How ridiculous to label Saga as ****e. Its only because he has hinted he wants away. At times today the guy looked a class apart (better) than anything else on the pitch. Nothing came off for him and clearly he is not 100% fit, but he still oozes goals with the right support. When Pato and Saga played closer together from the middle of the 1st half they looked quite a good combination. If he really wants to move on then looking like he doesn't care is not the way, and thats not the way I saw it.

Big thing for me today was how Pato basically defended from the front. He helped the MF so much by holding up the ball. When he went off we lost that critical aspect and the MF started to be overrun (thought to be fair to Millwall they did impress when Jackett made the subs).

All in all a pretty decent first game, thank **** we're not Norwich.

I am not his biggest fan as Arizona will probably testify but he certainly wasn't sh!te. However, I do wish he would stop going to ground so easily looking for free kicks. It reduces his effectiveness and is counter-productive because the referee doesn't even give the ones where he was fouled - mind you, today's ref didn't seem to see a lot.

I thought Saga worked his socks off today, play the ball to feet or chest to him and he will hold the ball up and bring others into play.

I agree - he looked to be enjoying the game to me and worked hard. If he wanted to stay I think he could do well for us this season. The support from mid-field wasn't exactly brilliant today after all but I'm sure that will be sorted out pretty quickly.

I think the only problem with Saga today was the dire quality of the passing to him out of midfield. There was onme occasion where he spun and left his two markers to put himself clear on the edge of the centre of the box and the ball was wellied 20 feet over his head for a throw to Millwall.

He needs more crosses from the by-line. His two best chances both came from crosses where he headed just wide on the first and was offside on the second, admitedly he missed that one two but with a few more chances and some match fitness he'll start banging them in again. Both Harding and Murty have proved so far that they can put very good balls into the box and with some proper out and out wingers supporting them (neither Lallana or James were really willing to run the lines today) we will look a much more balanced attacking force.

Saga worked his nuts off. Those who say he didn't are talking complete sh!te IMO.

I`m sorry, I have been a big fan of Saga but today he looked uninterested and his whole body language said that he didn`t want to be here. I genuinely hope that he decides that he wants to stay and will buckle down to be the Saga that he was when he first came.

He didn't get a single decision because he had a drogba esq fit everytime he lost the ball. Funny as **** but never going to win a free kick.

That said, I thought he played well. Worked his nuts off with Patterson and managed to hold the ball up fairly decently and won a few challenges in the air.

Totally agree with that. My main real criticism of our play today was that much of it going forward was lumped in the air which Millwall just mopped up all the time. But as we saw with Poortvliet (daring as I am to mention the recent past) pretty football wins you bog all, but I do think a bit more pass and move is needed...until we get a fat f**k up front who can just bulldoze everyone out of the way and win high balls!

Sorry but imho this is just balls. The Saga I saw a few yards in front of me seemed very interested in being here.

You saw a different game to me. Saga offers very little, his touch was crap, no pace, lack of fitness and doesn't want to play for us. Get him and his ego out of our fine club sharpish

I agree. Hard to see it on a hot day, but watching close-ups, replays on cable TV here Saga was involved quite a bit. Almost scored in first half when he took on the keeper played ball over him but play was called back. Took a knock in the second half trying the same tactic. Running around in that heat for 90 mins. must have been stressy..considering that it was young midfiellders that were subbed through fatigue.

I think he did OK ..all things considered. ( more disappointed in Lallana TBH )

Spot on Toomer he turned there defender and shielded the ball as it went through for our opening goal, you do not play for Poland if you are not up to English league 1 FFS.People have short memories,I reckon a return to any thing like his best form/fitness will see us start climbing this league.

tbh, i'm not a great fan of saga, coz i don't think he's all that interested in playin in league 1 and fair enough, he's got an international career to think of.

but i do think all those who thought he played badly yesterday are expecting him to bang in 3-a-game in league 1, but that's not gonna happen however good he is. being a forward isn't all about scoring goals...
