Daily Echo still banned

Wow, another a dig at Cortese. Thats a surprise.

Just an observation, people had been speculating on whether they would be banned or not, now we have an answer, they have.

I didn't even mention his name. It is extremely petty to STILL be banning the Echo when alot of Saints fans, especially the older generation, rely on the Echo print for their Saints-related news.

I'd be surprised if they are banned as there were massive Daily Echo banners on the walls of the disabled areas on the Kingsland in the second half of last season.

I would say they most definately ARE banned this season. The 'pictures' from the report are from away pre-season friendly games this season and not from the game itself.

... and with your location, I wouldn't expect you to be.

How do you figure that one out ? It has a website, and focuses on local issues from my home city a lot more than the national rags.

The only time I thought it was petty and went too far is when they banned the Echo from the childrens Christmas hospital visit.

Alpine. Alot of people still are not computer literate and/or don't have access to the internet and rely on the print version. Do you not understand that?

Anyway, that's not the issue, the childishness and pettyness is.

But yeah, was stupid of me to post this thread, as no doubt will be hijacked with " so what " and " yawn " etc etc by the super duper internet fans unable to empathise with others.

Does anyone care that much? I don't.

Yes if the Echo has been banned it shows that SFC have become a small minded vindictive club without due regard to its fans and the community.

But of course I dont know why or if it has been banned

Oh, come off it. The Echo goes ahead and prints Saints news anyway, it just doesnt get anything in advance or any exclusives. It just copies it from the official site, TV and radio reports or from here. So the computer illiterate and old codgers get it 24 hrs later. So what ?

"the echo" and "saints news" in the same sentence ?? you are joking, right? Full of rumours and info recycled from here.

What a ridiculous comment

Lots of things posted on here are taken from the Echo Website like the draw for the JPT

Don't agree with that at all.

Who broke the story of Dickson signing for us weeks before he signed?

People are quick to pick them up on speculation ( EVERY paper in the land prints speculation ) doesn't come to fruit but seem to conveniently forget when they get it right.

SRS may be a c**k but he has a very valid point regarding the Echo.

My fathers generation, for example, get all of their Saints news from Solent or The Echo.

Sorry, once again.

Has there been a complete black-out of Saints-related articles from the Echo or not ?

I missed NCs court injunction against the Echo.

Care to tell us how the Echo has been "taking the ****"?

it was posted on here was it not that the echo had printed something, on more than 1 occasion that NC (or someone at the club) had asked them to delay on, they ignored that request, and despite more warnings carried on.

What kind of idiot relies on the Echo for Saints related news? It is nothing more than speculation.

90% of news whether it's from the Echo, BBC, ITN etc etc is informed speculation surrounding know facts. The Echo by-and-large does a good job. If you had to wait for the OS for your news you would be the last to know anything.

ONCE they printed a story 24 hours earlier than requested to, even though Radio Solent had already ran the story and it was common knowledge on here as well as available in the public domain.

I don't think that warrants being banned from all things SFC. Some of you seem to think the Echo relies on SFC to sell newspapers. If this is the case, it will cost people in the community their jobs in the long-run. But I suppose that's alright though isn't it.

Another tedious thread posted by the resident sh*t-stirrer digging up a topic already done to death.

Roll on next Saturday.

Err... not dragging up anything. People have been questioning whether the club will still be banned. The confirmation is there that they have been, so it's a relevent topic. If it doesn't interest you then why not f*ck off to one that does?

Many people rely on the Echo for their Saints related news. :(

There are currently 4 news items on the Daily Echo website about the game on saturday. I am sure that if you rely on the Echo for all things Saints, the 'ban' (if it actually exists) is not having much of an impact.

is there not a rule that mentions people starting yet another NC bashing thread when there is already another one (or 10) running? ;-)

Where was Cortese mentioned in the OP? The subject is the Daily Echo.

Rather amusing how some people constantly whinge how "every thread turns into a NC bashing thread", and yet it's actually them that are doing so. Try reading the actual words written in the OP rather than putting your own words in there.

Just a thought, but if all this echo banning stuff were actually true, surely the echo would print something along those lines? I mean, if they really had an axe to grind they would so do it, but then again I suppose they would have to wait for it to be written on here ;-)

A year ago, I would have agreed with that, however we now hear about transfers FIRST from the OS. I think they have definitely turned that around.

Im sorry but I heard it was more than once, and not just what they were printing, things they (echo) wanted exclusives to but were refused, gave them the hump

I would suggest they are holding back in the hope of getting their accreditation to allow them into the ground for the start of the season. If they are still not allowed in for the Plymouth game then you might see some of the 'stories' and 'rumour' posted on here in their publication.

The reason is nothing more than the club want to control as much of the public content of the club as possible. Not because they want to keep fans informed as much as possible, but because they want to limit the amount of communication with supporters to the bare minimum.

In my opinion, of course. :D
