Nice link - cheers. Who's the w#nker now though you w#nkers!!!!

So Lambert ain't ever missed a pen for Saints has he? Did he ever take/miss any for anyone else? Very MLT pens. Hard into either corner and you score. Simple.

Great listening in the 2nd half. Fair play to all the Saints who went up there - came across loud 'n' clear on the radio.

Given he's posture at set pieces it's obvious he's not short on confidence. Is he being asked to do a different roll under Adkins which restricts his ability to score from open play. Not seen enough live football recently to comment hence the question.

Well let's hope it isn't a backward roll-he doesn't look the most athletic footballer on the planet!! :)

Love it, and i bet he loved sticking it in to every one of the c*nts that tried their hardest to put him off, i see Ince has started training them in the finer arts of the game.

I remember scoring a penalty after getting stick from 2 or 3 players during my youth football days, i got booked and nearly filled in when i rubbed it in a little too much ;)

That kit looks so much better with the red socks too.

I knew I wasn't going mad. I could have sworn we usually play in black socks.

I agree, looks much better with red.

Looking at the Notts County forum they are giving us a lot of stick for being 'cheats' and being 'very physical'. Barnard in particular is getting a lot of stick for diving. I've only seen highlights on saintsplayer but the penalty was in no doubt.

Any comments from people who went?

Barnard was given terrible treatment in the 1st half from the ref, was fouled numerous times and didn't get anything.

I had no doubt about the penalty at the time, i still don't, was an incredibly stupid and clumsy tackle, 100% a penalty, 100% a red.

County had black socks so we had to change because nothing must be the same colour. In France and some CL matches the 4th official has started making players with white tape over coloured socks retape them with tape of the same colour as the socks so that there is absolutely no confusion from "cap à pied"

Of course this is an Ince side where anyone with a bit of a mean streak gets wound up from before the kick off to the end of the match (unless he's been sent off already of course) It's an Ince tactic.

Both teams wore black shorts in the Tyne-Wear derby yesterday.

probably different rules in the EPL, perhaps shorts count less then, I don't know. The commentator on a CL game where the sock taping had to be changed said it was because UEFA say that they want to be able to see whose legs are where.

FIFA directive at the World Cup, long overdue as well. Amusingly Bendtner had to colour his ankle tape in with a felt pen before one of the World Cup group games.

Shorts aren't a significant issue in colour clashes unless other parts of the kit clash - in fact in situations where one team wears white/blue/white and the other wears blue/white/blue (for instance) it's probably better for one to wear all one colour and the other to only clash shorts than for them to wear the contrasting shorts which make up the rest of the opposition's kit.

Different competitions have different rules and some leave it up to the ref's discretion - the FA Cup doesn't allow clashing shorts - hence Saints wearing white shorts with their usual home kit in the FA Cup Semi-Final in 2003 against Watford, who had black shorts that season. The Premier League does (though they also have some pretty in-depth rules about who can wear which kit and how many times, which doesn't stop teams messing up and still having to wear the opposition's kit occasionally (like Hull at Newcastle a couple of seasons ago).

As regards socks and sock tape, anything that prevents the linesman or ref from determining which leg last touched a ball before it goes out of play is a problem.

Why would you want to make rude gestures at Sir Ricky? Bloody Millwall fan. :x

I was merely alluding to the idea that I enjoy his penalty taking technique a little more than I perhaps I should.

and you can stop all this millwall ****, I'm not the one who is named after a famour Narwich chairwomen's chant. Although tbf I was telling my mate tonight about it and he was quite shocked, I may have to rethink my plnas, especially as he has now offered to drive my drink sodden body to charlton and back.

What would my chances be of getting home alive should I open my denim jacket to reveal my red and white stripes do you think?
