Adkins post Tranmere interview

Puncheon played in the same Paul Elliott Academy as Drew Surman when Saints let him as Paul arranged games against other London teams. Even then he had an attitude. Would be interested to know why Plymouth let him go. Believe their may have been an off the field incident there.

now listen to what he actually said in full and Im sure you'll withdraw that!

If anything what he actually said reinforces it even more. He was due to travel on Thursday and then decided his head wasn't right. That is unprofessional, he is under contract at Saints for the next 2 years. Adkins said it will be dealt with in house (maybe that means a fine), and I doubt he will be at Saints in February.

When Plymouth played at St. Mary's earlier in the season, the Plymouth fans booed Puncheon - which seemed strange at the time given that he hardly played for them. Perhap it's something to do with an off-the-field incident?

Puncheon you c o c k. You don't know a good opportunity when you see it.

Good comment regarding saints only wanting players that will give everything to saints when they put the shirt on.

Maybe he's having a "Is Life Really All That?" moment.

which is why the squad isnt good enough..........

Not true Bompey are doing better than us with a team that cost pence compared to ours. It's not just about buying loads of players it's about the players putting the effort n we have one of the best teams in the league if they can be arsed, sadly they have far too many can't be bothered days.

"Then you look at Morgan and you look...well I don't wanna use names individually"

Not happy with Morgan for some reason obviously.

I'm not sure that's exactly what he said, he seemed to be talking about getting the ball out wide and I heard it as "so we looked to Morgan, well i don't want to name players but we weren't quick enough to the second ball". Could be wrong though, I wasn't paying all that much attention.

they will struggle to make the play-offs come May.

Can someone go round and kick the cr4p out of Jason Puncheon. There are two and half million people out of work you fecking worthless pr i ck!!

But it's obvious that he no longer wants to be here. We have seemingly priced him out of a move that he wanted to happen,so Millwall have signed someone they could afford. That's the trouble with letting players go out on loan, if they like where they went and you put an enormous price tag on them they tend to get ****ed off.If we told him on Thursday he was on the bench today and yet he was a starter at Millwall, well then I can see him being hacked off.

So what do we do with him?

Another club would be mad to want him.

The last thing we want is someone like him lowering morale.

It could well be his fault we've been so crap the last two games.

What an unprofessional c*ck.

Is it not about time for a club owner to let a player like this rot in the reserves for the rest of his contract ?

I know the club would make no money from him when his contract finished but it would send a message to these overpaid prima donnas that they do not own or run our clubs.

You are under contract, so play to the best of your ability and train as a professional or play with the trainees.

If you fail to turn up to training we will fine you.

If this happened it would make my day.

Players like this, and he is not the only one, p*ss me off.

Would be interested to know why Plymouth let him go.
Having made the two league jump from Barnet he was garbage in the early games of the season, in which Plymouth failed to win any games and the fans thought he was out of his depth and gave him some stick - his languid style suggested a lack of interest.

In his sixth and final game against Norwich they had a defender sent off after half an hour. Puncheon was immediatley substituted by Luggy to bring another defender on. Plymouth were already a goal down at that point and went on to lose the game. He was then dropped and didn't play for five weeks until MK Dons took him on loan.

What odds he was less than impressed about being the man taken off and had words with Sturrock that led to his exit. Having said that you'd of thought he would have gone quicker than five weeks later, but perhaps the emergency loan window does not open till end of October?

BTW Adkins saying his head is not right usually just means he has been offered a contract elsewhere and that is bound to take his focus.

We sell him to Millwall, or one of those "other" clubs that are keen on signing him (if you believe agent talk in the papers).Jackett has said he wants him but our price is far too high. There is absolutely no point in retaining a player against his wishes if you have some sort of valid(and reasonable) offer for him.

Agree with this.

Kenwyne Jones tried the same thing but we were desperate for money so he had to go.

In principle i'd say do it, but in practice you don't want a spoilt brat undermining morale. If I was the club i'd try and loan him to lots of clubs where he didn't want to go - places like yeovil, Mansfield, Carlisle - all the backwater clubs. He clearly likes the big lights of London so we should not let him get his way. Get a pair of compasses and draw a circle around London for 100 miles and any club within this zone should not be considered. If Puncheon then keeps refusing the loans it'll draw attention to his attitude and no club will ever touch him.

That is what i'd do if I was Cortese.

if we bought him for £250,000 and they are only offering £150,000, that does not appear a valid offer.

We send him to do community work until he wakes up and realises that when you have priveleges you also have responsibilities, and that professionalism in sport is everything.

Or...

You send around two big fellas with career ending hardware and tell him to buck his petty little ideas up. Ungrateful t o ss er!!

It really is time to get rid. Totally undependable

We agree on something my chunky friend, lets put out the bunting!!! Any player, no matter how good that misses a game because of their "mental state" is a c*nt and should be got shot off at the earliest opportunity. If they cant hack a midseason game at Tranmere how are they going to cope with the pressure of having to win a game to secure a title or promotion?
