The9 Posted 30 April, 2011 Share Posted 30 April, 2011 (edited) What's your criteria ? We're 14th in all-time Premier League points but only 25th in all-time Prem/FL points. We're 23rd in average all-time Prem points. But only third highest average attendance in League One last season. There are about 7 teams in the nPC with higher average attendances this season, and all but two of the Premier League. Minty Posted 30 April, 2011 Share Posted 30 April, 2011 Sorry, just find it such a subjective thing, and what does it actually mean? As The9 alludes to, once there is agreement about how to judge it, i'd be happy to join in, but it tends to just be the kind of thing fans make up and argue about when their team hasn't actually won or achieved anything for years. Turkish Posted 1 May, 2011 Share Posted 1 May, 2011 (edited) I would say there are 10 clubs who are bigger than us and the biggest in the country, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle, Tottenham, VIlla, Everton, Man City, using attendances, finances and history of trophies as guidline, underneath them there are a large group of about 20 clubs of a similar size which we are one that can all claim to be bigger than the other but in reality there is nothing much between them and size depends on their current league positons etc. This would include ourselves, Forest, Derby, Birmingham, Stoke, Leicester, West Ham, Sunderland, Middlesborough, Sheffield United & Wednesday, Norwich and Ipswich amoungst others. Frank's cousin Posted 1 May, 2011 Share Posted 1 May, 2011 Really never thought it matters - its just an ego thing. Its easy to support the so called bigger clubs - simply because armchair fans want that success by associataion and as with most things this day and age, everyone wants a short cut to success - the only advantage of being 'bigger' (read wealthier with the odd trophy in the modern times) is the abilty to attract the best players, but more importantly hold on to your home grown talent...at least for 6-8 years etc. The great thing about this game is that even teh lowliest can upset teh biggest now and again... just about.
